  1. Injuries or not.....how is it that George Edwards still has a job. I get it that he is a buddy of Chan and that we have had some lucky breaks against elite quarterbacks, but my God the numbers are bad. I can't see this being tolerated in any other franchise.
  2. I just don't understand the reluctance to take a shot down field. Everyone is aware that Buffalo won't do it. The broadcasters were even discussing it before the game. Lord knows the team has a lot to prove and very little to lose at this point. But it seems like our QB is playing not to lose instead of playing to win. That last pick was such a timid throw. I guess we should just start calling him Fitzedwards. Just imagine what it will be like when the O-Line starts to let people through.
  3. The Bills at 10-6???? Please let me know what scouting reports and news you are looking at.........from what I have seen the team would be lucky to get even half-way to ten wins.
  4. If they are going to give these players long-term contracts they better make sure they are worth it. This tactic of building a team could very very easily back fire when you have a lot of mediocre players with large contracts.
  5. I think the rating is totally justified. We have done nothing to deserve a higher ranking. And it amazes me how everyone is quick to attack ESPN because they refuse to recognize the Bills "potential" that some fans think they have. ESPNs whole existence is based off of sports and if anyone would know how we stack up against the rest of the NFL, I would think it would the analysts and experts that they employ. Once our Bills prove themselves, then we can make the argument that they deserve respect.
  6. Look....I too hope that the Bills will start to win some respect in the NFL, but the optimism is starting to get ridiculous. Bills fans tend to over value mediocre players simply because they show flashes of brilliance here and there, but no consistency. I understand that there is a strong sense of loyalty to the players. I get that the Bills were a catch or two from more victories last season....however they don't have a column in the standings for almost. It is time that we as Bills fans step back and get a grip on reality. Yes there are some potentially great young players. Yes we are on the right path. Yes they still have a ways to go to catch their division. No Fitzpatrick is not a franchise quarterback. No Stevie Johnson is not a proven number 1. No we do not have a great pass rush or running back core. Have faith, but don't kid yourselves into thinking we can win the division (unless God happens to be a Bills fan this year). Just wanted to throw in my two cents.
  7. Its amazing how out of touch with reality we Bills fans seem to be. We are falling further and further behind the pack. Chad Johnson is not being brought in to New England to be an impact player. If he does not produce, it will not hurt them. He is solely a low risk, high reward player that has consistently played at a very high level over his career. And if he can make big plays with Carson Palmer, he surely will be able to improve upon that with Tom Brady. He makes the Pats better. To sit here and say that as a collective, we should not be worried is laughable. What was keeping our front office from getting a player of his calibre? Your telling me that there is no room for an potential impact player on our roster? You can only build from the draft if you have a considerable veteran presence. And you have to draft franchise players. We have neither. But we should't be worried right?
  8. It really seems that the Bills are getting left behind by the rest of the AFC East. I get that Buffalo is not always a top choice by any free agent, but at least do something to get everyone excited. I understand the need to fill a roster, and have role players at that, but rummaging through every other teams left overs is not a way to win. Just accept what the team is, blow it up, and start from the beginning.
  9. I like how any time the Bills are rated poorly or discussed as being a failed franchise by anyone in the media they are automatically labeled as being a joke. I would figure these people know a hell of a lot more about the NFL than the typical fan. It's ok to have hope and be loyal to our Bills - but it seems that most fans have lost touch with reality. Until they prove something - expect the media to continue to point out the fact that our franchise is at the bottom of the league.
  10. There is no way to know that we got better until our draftees actually start playing. The Bills have no track record of success when it comes to this. I seem to remember having this conversation each year after the draft. They need to prove something.
  11. Since when have we proven that we deserve to be higher? Until we start winning and those "impact guys" we got in the draft start to make an impact, no one will ever take the Bills seriously.
  12. I have to believe that they will use Maybin in some capacity next season. Being still young - and you have to believe hungry for success - he will try to do what it takes to not be considered a total bust by the end of his career. It has to be obvious that he was not successful at his current position - but thats not to say he cannot make it at some other spot on the field - such as SS. He is just not in the right place for his talents.
  13. While most of the picks are a step forward for the defense, the fact that the same personnel will be in place really hurts the optimism - especially concerning the defense. Regardless of the players abilities and unless Wannstedt steps up- the schemes and playcalling will still be broken. A great coach will get the most out of their players - I just don't think we have one of those on the staff.
  14. At the very least....if we do draft Gabbert at some point...what is the harm? What is our best option going into next year? We really have nothing to lose and everything to gain by taking a chance on a kid that has better skills than most coming out of the draft. At the very least we have hope.
  15. I have to imagine that the Bears are aware of the Bills' poor run defense and will plan to that, especially with an extra week. It will be a close game, but I think if we can manage any sort of rush against Cutler we could win......I just don't know who will provide that sort of pressure up front. We can only hope that Fitz keeps it close.
  16. At this point in the season, it just seems like our Front Office is really over its head when it comes to rebuilding its franchise. They seem to rely on inexperienced coaching while trying to catch lightning in a bottle from aging stars and career backups instead of allowing the players they brought in to be "the future" play. Until someone in Buffalo (besides the fans) realizes that this team cannot compete, that their answers are not on this rosters or coaching staff, and that the most important thing in the end is a win (there is no championship for almost)... then nothing will change. I will always be a Bills fan...but a very realistic one.
  17. All I have to say is wow......I guess I would have even taken the tie at this point...but I figured at 0-6 why play so conservative, not like we have a playoff spot to lose, thought they should have pushed the envelope a little more, but then again what do I know, maybe they think they are still in it?
  18. I really think we should hope for the team to completely bottom out. The last thing the Bills need is another middle round pick. If we have a top 5 I would at least hope the FO would pick someone that can make an impact at a position we need - not just take the smart pick out of middle round talent.
