  1. A lot of Dolphins chatter. This is an easily winnable game. But if the Bills don't show up to play a highly physical game they stand a chance of getting punched in the mouth for an unexpected L. That Jets defense is no joke and (I can't believe I am saying this) Mike White can get hot at times. Keep the turnovers down and play the sticks and we should walk away with this one.
  2. Spotrac has it at $220M including $1.5M of rollover for us and we are still $10M over/in the red. Crossing my fingers for $240M. Hahaha
  3. One one hand it would be great to have him. But we have to start filling holes with immediate impact from our draft picks. OL is no exception. You can’t kick the proverbial cap space can down the road forever. At some point you have to pay the bill. New Orleans is a good example.
  4. He is the private chef for all sorts of position groups. Josh, Von, and I think some OL as well. He’s basically the go to for anybody on the team regardless of position. He can play inside too!!! Everybody is fondly remembering Beasley from 2-3 years ago but forgetting all the chatter about him being washed last season. I was a proponent of getting the best three on the field last year and thought it was Diggs and Davis outside with Sanders inside. If we’re going to pluck a guy off the couch he’s my guy.
  5. I don’t think he was jogging. I think he’s just old and slow.
  6. I actually don’t want to keep Hines at $4M next year. We are strapped with little space. I’d be find with a Singletary 2nd deal if he’d keep it cheap to stick around and get a late round pick. But Hines is waaaay to expensive for his production.
  7. I agree. I think Basham, AJE, Rousseau, then paying Von. You could probably lump in our giant DL rotation into this. Plus a bunch of 2nds and 3rds on RB’s hurt us in a handful of places. There’s certainly some benefit. But some pain points as well.
  8. This is a good discussion point. Since Beane was brought in he has only extended 2 of his own top 100 picks. Josh and Knox from his top 100. Cody Ford, Harrison Philips Moss aren’t on the roster. Given the cap space I don’t think we extend Singletary, and AJE is JAG. It feels like a weird spot to talk about not having the money to extend a first round pick, while only extending one of your first round picks. (2 if you count Tre who is pre-Beane)
  9. One thing I don’t get is that he was so good last year down the stretch. And until a few weeks ago was a real live CB playing at starting CB1 level. Then along with what seems like a ton of other guys at other positions, went on a weird skid. Elam has certainly gotten better, but I don’t get the local hype. I’m not hugely shocked he didn’t dress. He is allowing 28/40, 300 yards, 2 TD’s, and a 88.4 passer rating when targeted. Dane is 33/59, 364, 77 passer rating and 3TDs. Until 3 weeks ago it was 50% completion and 50 passer rating. The last few weeks have been a head scratcher.
  10. Rhodes got smoked on that long TD catch. Dude looked like he had cement boots on. Poor old man. I think Dane will still be a quality zone corner in this league. Hoping this is just a blip the last few weeks that drives his value down for us to re-sign.
  11. I really like Oliver and would like to keep him. Especially since he’s another top 100 pick and we are likely to move away from a bunch at some point soon and they’ll need replacing too. I think Edmunds is a lock. Oliver is a likely. It will come down to OBJ or Poyer. We’ve seen this defense without him and his playing at an all pro level. His value to this team is immeasurable. Fair take. OBJ has age and injury history issues too. We currently don’t have any fall off from Poyer yet. I agree. We are tight on the cap. I’m of the philosophy of sign your own, and upgrade/replace/develop the draft. If we want to upgrade the OL the onus on draft day in April. Re sign your own and stop drafting the same positions over and over again.
  12. I was just making a joke. But also what you’re saying is different. That’s just two companies with two sauces. Labatt didn’t move on. They were (are?) totally inept.
  13. Honestly, they didn’t get anybody. It was just a total cluster fudge. Not part of any plan.
  14. The whole thing gets tough because almost nobody else would play him often enough that that would correlate to anything super meaningful. Nobody in the division would be good to even think about doing it. What I would be interested in is "how often has BB lost to the same coach twice in a season". So there is a world where he plays Dungy, Shanahan, etc. twice in a season?
  15. Tre is one of the handful of guys on the defense he lets play 100% of snaps as long as he is healthy. There is no "Tre will play as normal and make his normal substitution's but won't have any restrictions or pitch count" He will play 100% (or very very close to it) or he the staff will manage him.
  16. WR is such a log jam. There area a million of them in the HoF with a bunch more playing. Diggs is talented enough to get in some day if he remains healthy and consistent with his current play. But he hasn't come close to doing enough yet. He will have to string together 5 more years and a Super Bowl appearance or two to even begin to enter the conversation.
  17. There isn't a better rental in the league than the Bills and Chiefs. Honorable mention to the Eagles. I think the city itself is important to OBJ, and Buffalo is only on the table because of Von. He wants to be a in a major city. Long term/short term competitiveness weighed, Dallas is probably the best fit for him and the most willing to give him a multi-year decent value deal.
  18. Fun fact. Josh Allen is no longer repping Labatt because they didn't show up to a scheduled meeting to renew for this year. They didn't call to apologize, never tried to reschedule. Nothing. He didn't sign with Corona out of spite for the meeting, more money, or any bad feelings. Labatt just totally dropped the ball. If that doesn't make you want to drink Molson....
  19. One thing that really impressed me about Cook last night was his ability to make such powerful cuts. There were some players where he put one foot in the ground and a single cut that were so powerful and quick I had to pick my jaw up. He was a decisive runner for the most part. But I agree there were times I would have liked him to just cut up field and take the yardage. He is young and hasn't had a ton of opportunities. I would imagine he is trying to break every play loose to earn more reps. He will be fine. McKenzie and Diggs both have a tendency to dance around and even lose yardage trying to avoid contact rather than taking the 3-5 yards in front of them. Drives me bonkers sometimes.
  20. I would rather give a multi year OBJ valued contract to Poyer. We know his value to this roster. We don’t know what OBJ will bring.
  21. I would dislike. The Bills have 20+ FA with important pieces to replace/re-sign like Edmunds, Poyer, and Morse. We lose 3 of our starting OL and a good portion of our DL depth. Not to mention we have zero space next year. Signing Beckham to a multi year deal at a starting WR price feels irresponsible. TL;DR If we grab Beckham on a multi year deal and draft a new starting MLB and/or S in the first only to ignore other position groups, I will be pissed.
  22. This was my thought. Also it looks like his knee is down before his elbow hits or ball moves. So by rule, at that point the play is over. I posted earlier, that I think part of the reason the league makes you "survive the ground" is because if that happens in bounds there are only a few options. Catch, fumble, incompletion. 2/3 are bad. So the league gives no credit one way or the other since the play cannot finish OOB.
  23. A ball can move when caught in bounds though, that isn't problem. I "think" the issue is that when the ball moves in bounds there are three possible outcomes if the ball moves, catch, incomplete, fumble. I am guess that the league thought is that because 2 of the 3 possible outcomes are "not a catch/possession", that when it happens OOB they air on the side 2/3 rather than 1/3?
  24. Poyer has proved his weight in gold and the current backups have already shown they aren't capable of keeping the defense running. Poyer is a must have next season, especially with 20+ FA on the roster. Edmunds has come into his own this year and is an integral piece. Would really like to keep him around with Milano. A big part of the reason we need to keep these guys is holes elsewhere. We have ripped through too many top 100 picks we haven't kept and/or needed to replace/upgrade. I don't think we keep Singletary, Moss is gone, redraft of Cook, AJE, Basham, then Groot, only to give huge money to Von and eat up both cap and draft picks. We can't keep going back to the well for the same position groups. We need to spend our top picks to fix new issues like everybody on OL with Morse being a FA and WR. I really don't want to use high picks on S or MLB right now.
  25. He ran a decent amount of routes tonight. He was open a few times underneath and Josh didn’t look his way. I don’t think Knox is a bad player. I don’t know his value as an individual. I think the lack of involvement is a combination of the QB not feeding him and the OC not having enough plays with him as the primary.
