  1. It honestly reminds me of the Bills' lost decade(s).
  2. They're spending a bunch of money on signing good to above average F/As, none of whom will push them over into contending range when you've hollowed out your OLine, have the broken down version of Cam Newton as your QB, and don't have much WR talent. All they're really doing is setting themselves up to pick at 15 - 20, so basically out of the running for a franchise QB. Unless their strategy is a 5 years of being mediocre, I don't get it. Either rebuild or try to contend. They're doing neither.
  3. If Toney was available at 30, I'd snag him, if Friermuth wasn't available.
  4. Would be a hard no for me. I like BPA, but within reason and also when you don't have any holes to fill. Right now, I think the bills will enter the draft with two significant holes, and two weaknesses, one of which they may or may not have an answer in house for. Holes: 1) Premier EDGE rusher. I don't see how they fill this at this point, without a trade and extend deal, such as Danielle Hunter. You could go out and sign someone like Lawson, Hassan Reddick, Ngukue (sp?), or Clowney - but you can't really justify them as being legit upgrades over both Hughes and Addison, which is what you're looking for. I would have said that about Watt or Shaq, but those guys aren't available anymore. Bills also aren't going to find this player by drafting someone at 30. 2) TE. This one I think they can fill by staying at 30, but it's basically Pat Friermuth or not at all, as there just aren't enough 1st round caliber TEs this year. Fry would be an excellent fit though, as he's got the size and athletecism to be an elite combo TE. He's not a guy that's going to run past defenders, but he's got great hands, very nimble, and will punish defenders running with the ball, and he's got a pretty good understanding of running routes. He's also got all the tools you'd want in an elite run blocking TE - something he didn't have to do too much of at Penn State, as they often had him running routes instead. If they can't get Fry, then they probably run with the what they have. Mix and Match Dawson and Lee Smith depending on match up and game plan. Weaknesses: 1) #2 corner. Levi Wallace is probably an average #2 corner, and there's potential for Dane Jackson to surpass him. But this isn't so weak that you invest a first rounder on. 2) Speed WR. Here you have some options Kadarius Toney, Tutu Atwell, Rondale Moore, etc would be interesting picks at 61 or 94. Maybe someone like Kenny Stills. I know MLJ has been ban hammering away for Travis Etienne and he might be an interesting speed prospect as well
  5. It sounds like a freak injury, and he had successful surgery to fix it. I'm not a doc, but his frame, joints, and musclature all seem fine, as the herniated disc seemingly wouldn't have impacted that - and with a "successful" surgery, you'd think he'd be back to full strength. But I'm sure the Bills would do their due diligence on the injury, surgery and recovery baselines before making a trade that would involve a 1st rounder. That's my assumption of why I'd this to happen - that the injury concerns would be alleviated.
  6. Sign and extend him. You can cut his 21 cap hit by half. He is absolutely worth a 1st rounder, though not sure the 30th pick would be enough. You might have to throw in AJE or something
  7. I wish Curtis Samuels was available for under 5M. That would be ideal.
  8. I hadn't realized that about Stills, guess he was an emergency guy if JB couldn't go in the playoffs. As for Addison, when I posted it wasn't announced he had restructured. But that's fine. Still opens a small gap to sign a new EDGE
  9. Allen's contract extension will hit the next cap. His base will remain the same. They'll work it so his cap hit won't rise above what it is, but he'll still be able to pocket 10-15M in signing bonus, plus get about 35-40M a year for 6-8 years.
  10. 8M cap hit in 21 for a close to elite LB is incredibly good business.
  11. They still need to replace Jefferson, but perhaps that's just going to naturally filled by Justin Zimmer. Not sure I'd be ok rolling with the edge rushers they had last season + a hopefully well improved AJE. Though perhaps I'm being a bit dramatic. Chiefs have to significantly improve their OLine, or they may not even be in a position to get to the AFC Championship. They rode their two tackles, and we saw what they had behind them - not much. If the Bills can add a TE as a weapon, a run blocking guard, and get AJE to be a top 30% EDGE Rusher, that might be enough to push the Bills past everyone else in the AFC.
  12. Would hope that 10M hit gets down to a 5M hit, as he's a reserve at this point.
  13. Huh, so not cutting Mario. That's a 10M cap hit, so I'm hoping that got reduced to about 5M, as he's a backup.
  14. I'm a Penn Stater, and I'd agree with this. When we went the YOLO offense in 2019, he has a huge factor. There's a reason we called him baby Gronk. Would fit perfectly with spirit/philosophy of this offense.
  15. Personally I think it's easier to find a starting guard at 30 than finding a starting EDGE rusher. So I would vote to let Feliciano go,, cut Addison, restructure Hughes + Star. Use Kumerow/Duke/Stills as your replacement for Brown on the roster (Gabe Davis is your #2). Use that 10M in cap savings to find a F/A EDGE, draft a starting guard, a DE/3T tweener, a slot corner, a speedy WR, and a TE. Unfortunately TE is likely going to go unanswered this offseason. Think EDGE is more pressing. You could actually snag Friermuth at 30, trade up into the 2nd round and grab a starting RG there.
  16. Guessing his cap hit for 21 will a team friendly 7-8M or so. This puts them right at their limit I think? Think they'll be able to restructure/cut their way to one more significant signing or re-signing of Feliciano, but the rest are going to have to be Practice players, vet min, or draft picks
  17. Those are very team friendly numbers for the start. You could see a cap hit next season that ranges from 5M to 11M, which is really good for the Bills
  18. Which is a fair number for him. Should be an easy decision to pick up or extend
  19. Jefferson was a guy I was hoping would be restructured and retained. Had some value as a DE/3T combo and had good snaps this past season
  20. He was pretty big in Allen's development. Really happy with his 2 years here
  21. Hyde's extension didn't really budge his cap hit. If they're going to extend/restructure Hughes than his cap hit better be coming down significantly
  22. Which is why you sign someone opposite him. Not cut him. He's easily the best Edge rusher the Bills have. I'm not even sure it's close. If you cut him, then you need to go out and find TWO high end edge rushers. AJE isn't ready for that. I'd love to go into next season with: EDGE: F/A pick up ~ 10-12M PYA, Hughes (restructured), AJE, Draft pick 3T: Oliver, Justin Zimmer 1T: Star, Harrison Phillips Tweener 3T/EDGE: Quinton Jefferson (restructured) Because the Bills can't afford a $20M+ cap hit
  23. In the modern NFL, pressures are more reflective statistic of success than sacks. Its sort of like OPS vs HRs.
  24. Dion is a young man who I wish most young men would be like. What an incredible human being.
