From the standpoint that McCown would be a waste of a roster spot. Absolutely. The Bills won't get him "cheap" either (less than 2.5 guaranteed/year) so it is a HELL NO.
When I factor in that he will cost the Bills somewhere between 2-4 million dollars (maybe more), I would rather have Tuel. If we are going to target these type of guys at the QB position I would rather spend the money on Sanchez (sigh).

Nothing special? Jackson is better? Is he in his prime? Nope. Can you get him on a short term 2-3 guaranteed contract?Probably. Is he a short term ground and pound RB type that we need (our Shonn Greene) that would fit right into Rex's/Roman offense? Likely.
RB's are the cheapest position to acquire via FA so I don't want to draft any when we are already thin on draft picks this year. I don't know who would acquire more but realistically I think you can get Gore on a contract with less years guaranteed. IMO he would also fit best with both Rex and Romans philosphy in the run game. Even better I think it can realistically happen as well.
With the scheme they are likely to implement and glaring questions with consistent QB play, I would take under on that so yes that would be acceptable. If I could take that as a best case scenerio I would put it in the bank.
My point is there is a possibility Watkins isn't going to be utilized as much as people think just like the complaints this year with Marrone and Hackett.
A max ceiling of 1200 yards, 85 receptions, 10 TD's at the WR position with that 49ers scheme that has a lot better talent than the Bills on offense. The body of work shows Crabtree was an after thought for the most part.
When they were contending for championships they were utulizing a diverse power running game and explosive tight end in the passing game. It wasn't about the WR's.
...also SF struggled last year with QB play which was still better than the Bills and have a better o-line....and there passing game struggled under that scheme. There is no guaranteed fix to our offense like you magically make up with these definitive statements which are at odds with reality.
How can you say with certainty that Rex will fix the offense and Watkins will get more attempts/touches. Sure it's possible and he knows Watkins is a good player but who is going to be throwing him the ball? What about scheme? In fact Rex's ground and pound, "bully" philosphy which he said is definitely implementing is at odds with making a WR like Watkins a focal point of the offense. WR wasn't the main focal point in Romans scheme either.
Rex is a great coach but he is no offensive guru. Talk to the people in NY/NJ.
I highly doubt this. They are developing critical characters like Mike really slowly so I don't think it is even possible. However, if this show did ever develop like that I would be very disappointed.
Where did I mention it again in this thread?
- So trading up for a WR without a proven QB was not a good idea then? Oversight from management?
- He was thrown to more. Yup. Go back to point one. Management oversight?
- Does Odell Beckham play defense and special teams too?
