Pats wheeling and dealing, trade for Martellus Bennet

Meh, I guess we will see how it all shakes out. Not all of the Pats** moves work out for the best. -

I don't know the details but I bet Whaley overpaid for him. Pegula is cheap.

Are the Dolphins a concern for you?

The odds say Adam Gase is a better coach? Than Philbin? That remains to be seen and technically the odds don't say that at all. A lot of first time head coaches fail. -

Your argument wasn't about the Bills, you said the Dolphins improved. Show me where they improved. -
Kerley visiting the bills-Signed by Detroit
Wayne Cubed replied to Bash_Gash's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Throw the ball more? Pass Attempts in 2014: NY Jets - 498 Buffalo Bills - 579 What are you talking about? Hogan had 15 more yards on 3 more attempts. Kerley was used running the ball as well, something Hogan doesn't do and added another 90 yards on 4 attempts. That's hardly out producing Hogan. More like one season, last season and word out of NY was Kerley didn't fit into Chans plan, oh and he was behind Marshall and Decker. Even with an increased load at the end of the season, with the injuries at WR, Hogan didn't get more than 2 receptions a game, the last couple games. So it's a tip of the cap to Scott Chandler? I mean many thought he was underrated here. The Patriots were going to have a two-headed monster with Chandler and Gronk. That worked out well. -

Thanks for proving my point. You have no evidence but you believe Hogan is the better player even though, when given the opportunity, Kerley has produced more. Let me ask this, if Hogan was going to, let's say the Browns, would he still be the better player? Would his career still be going in the opposite direction? Would he still be better than some fans give him credit for? -

It really is odd. The Bills get rid of Hogan and for some, the Bills are incompetent because of it. Hogan is a star. They then bring in a guy, who has had a better career thus far than Hogan, and the Bills are still stupid. Kerley isn't that good. -

I'd ask where? Lamar Miller is a better back then Anderson. Mario Williams is older and in the second half of last season there wasn't a better DE than Vernon. They've added Kiko, who looked very bad last season in Philly. Maxwell was the product of the Seattle defense and looked bad in Philly. They moved out of the top 10 of the draft. They haven't done anything about the OL, which was bad last season. They don't have a #2 CB or #3 for that matter. Their LBs are still bad, not that Buffalos is any better. At best, they've stayed the same but that's best case scenario. -

NFL Exec Admits Link Between CTE and Brain Trauma
Wayne Cubed replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why it it, "hits in football"? Shouldn't it just be "hits to the head"? If you get hit in the head, does it only cause CTE if it's done while playing football? -

DT Stefan Charles Signing 1 Year Deal with Detroit

Cutting starters before we replace them? Did you not see the part where I said they have 2 drafts and another FA period, on top of this one, to replace them? Or did you just ignore it. -

I think it's a bit early for these claims. Scott Chandler was suppose to be a stud there too. EDIT: Amendola was suppose to be a "stud" when they signed him away from St. Louis, that hasn't really worked out. -

Does anyone feel like the roster can be better this year?
Wayne Cubed replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea that number is based on Top 51 for next year and the assumption the cap rises again. Personally I don't see them asking Kyle for a pay cut and I think they'll cut him next year. This years draft is talent rich at DL, it is perfect time to draft his replacement. -

Right, so cut Kyle Williams next off-season, save another $7mm. Then cut Corey Graham next off-season, save another $5m. Now you are talking $60mm plus under the cap in 2017. Sign Glenn/Gilmore for next year with cap hits of $26mm. Then make decision on Taylor based on this season, if he plays well and they can't get a deal done, franchise him at $22mm. The Bills would still have $20mm plus when Free Agency opens next off-season, with those players signed. The only "big" FA for the Bills next year is Robert Woods. So the Bills need to replace Williams, Graham and Woods and have 2 drafts and another FA period to do it. They could also just resign Woods, the money is there. With this draft being deep at the DT position, Williams replacement might happen this year. -
To Ensure A Winning Future look Forward Not Back !!

He's got a place on the Bills defense but not at his cap hit. He's a perfect fit for Rex's 4-3 under at the open 3-tech position. The problem is Rex is multiple, so he might play more one week and less another depending on the game plan. That's not worth a $8m cap hit. The other problem is it puts Dareus at the 1-tech DT, with 2-gap responsibility. Dareus can certainly play that position but it's not his strength. It would make more sense to put Dareus at the 3-tech for the 4-3 under and then he can also play the 5-tech or 3-tech in Rex's 3-4. Then, if the Bills pick up a NT he can play the 1-tech in Rex's 4-3 under. It would allow Dareus, who is younger and the Bills just paid a load of money for, to do more damage. I think Kyle probably stays this year, in a rotational role, but is definitely gone next year because of age and it saves $7m against the cap. As far as the OP, I don't see the Bills reworking anymore contracts to free up money this year. The FA market was never going to be good for the positions they needed. IMO, they were always going to be looking at second-tier FA. When you draft well, it's important to sign your own (Glenn/Gilmore). As it stands now the Bills have $60m in cap space next season. Once they resign Glenn/Gilmore and cut K. Williams/Graham next off-season, the Bills will be roughly $46m under the cap for 2017. They'll have to decide on Taylor, which if he has a good season the money is there to Franchise him or sign him to a long term deal. The only "big" free-agent next year is Robert Woods. Which if they draft his replacement this year, they don't have to worry about signing. Or they could resign him, the money is there. The point is, getting cap money this year isn't always the solution when you look at the bigger picture. It pushes money further down the road and limits what the Bills can do. You also have to think about Sammy Watkins, do you really want to free up money this year and push that money further down the road and possibly have problems when it comes to extending him? -

Lamar Miller for CJ Anderson.... Spinning their wheels. Actually I think Miller is better. -

Keep moving those goalposts. "Can you show me articles where Whaley said this" "Yes here is one" "Yea but they have only signed Dareus on that list" Geez.
