  1. Did you know that the Bills outspent the 'big spending' Dan Snyder Washington Redskins last year? The more you know.
  2. Desean Jackson, Todd Heap, and Mohammed Massaquoi went down. Teams are happy to risk a broken tackle for the chance to play against a scrub replacement for the rest of the game. The players try to injure each other on every single play. They will twist and torque and do whatever it takes to get the other guy out of the game. It is a feather in the cap for players to injure another player. Don't pretend that isn't true.
  3. You people. So desperate to keep the Bills from having any good players else you lose the lovable loser persona. Gotta get that TO out of town and don't you dare sign a single player that people outside of Buffalo have ever heard of. That is NOT how we roll.
  4. The Jaguars really know how to rebuild. First start off spending multiple high draft picks on offensive linemen (Monroe, Britton) to solidify your offensive line because you have great running backs but a terrible joke quarterback. Then, still fail at successfully running the ball because you have zero passing threat with your awful qb. Then, bring in a veteran qb to play behind your now dominant line. Watch team continue to fail without a franchise qb. Hope you can rebuild to 7-9 with zero chance of winning a championship. For bonus points note how they spent a ton of picks on pass rushing defensive linemen before they shored up the offensive line. Yah. Let's not draft a quarterback or else we might be in danger of building a better franchise than Buffalo South.
  5. Lolololololololol Yah you really got that one pegged. Lolololololololol Sack and checkdown city. Should have been his third pick six in 2.5 games. Also note how he literally drained the life out of the team with his mere presence. They quit trying to win the second he fairied himself onto the field.
  6. You always spout off about the importance of the Bills stopping the run, especially in the "omg please don't draft a quarterback so we don't have any chance of being a relevant team" threads. How does Indianapolis manage to win a dozen games or more every single year without being able to stop the run any better than we can? Oh yeah, they have an elite quarterback. That's right
  7. Thanks for the keen insight, Captain Obvious.
  8. Yeah, no. Once players are bad and play for the Buffalo Bills, there really isn't another home for them south of the CFL.
  9. Sweet, 198 yards per game. Edit: Wonder if Fitzpatrick will finish the season with more yards than Manning and Rivers have after week 6. Would make for a good bet...
  10. Well, to be fair, ANY player selected #1 overall in the NFL draft is going to command that salary, whether it be a QB, an OL, a DE, etc. People need to remember that NFL draft picks have their salaries slotted in, and are a function of their position drafted, the contracts of players signed before/after them, and the salaries granted to players in the previous season. There may be a very minor premium placed on a quarterback because it is such a vitally important position (go figure, right?), but the #1 pick in the draft is going to get that money no matter what position he plays. But yeah, it is obvious that not signing Merriman = business as usual. And since our front office has been run by the same folks promoted from within for the last decade, this shouldn't really surprise anyone.
  11. Some Bills fans are so desperate not to have any good players on the team that it is frankly quite sad. The same people who advocate passing on potential franchise quarterbacks will caution against taking a flyer on a young player in his physical prime (injuries aside) who was one of the best players in the league at a position that we are the literal worst at. 3.6 million dollars! Oh my god, we can't pay that much! That is like, so many Double Cheeseburgers worth of monies! People act like it's coming out of their wallets or something, instead of off the bottom line of a team that rakes in the dollars and is desperate to compete. Kelsay at 24m over 4 years or Merriman for a pro-rated 3.6m on a flyer. What are you people thinking? Edit: I do doubt, however, that anyone in the front office of this organization knows enough about the waiver wire to get this done. Transactions probably are processed during Buddy's nap time.
  12. Buffalo Bills fans: Utterly desperate to NOT have an elite-level quarterback. Everyone knows that if you have an elite qb, you contend for championships year after year. Many Bills 'fans' are terrified of this happening. They hope the team will continue to ignore the most important position in professional sports so they can retain the Loveable Loser moniker. Sick.
  13. What if Luck isn't there and we have one of the first 3 picks? How would this change our plan? Mallet? Just curious, since I think we're looking good for a top 3.
  14. This is exactly why nobody should be surprised when they get called a drunken retard idiot vaginasanded mongoloid living in mom's basement. We can lament the demise of civil discourse, but it is what it is.
  15. Sweet. On the league's worst defense, we have a strong safety that is better than half of the strong safeties in the league. That probably makes him our best defensive player. CUT HIM NOW!
  16. Disagree. Not just because passing on the chance at a franchise quarterback should be a criminal offense, but also because Demarcus Love will be gone ~60 picks before we go in the 4th round. 2 Defensive Tackles and a Defensive End? On top of the DT that our current regime reached a 2nd round pick for last year? Meh.
  17. I agree with what you're expressing in large part. There have been myriad threads where posters express a desire for the passing of Ralph Wilson. That isn't a particularly sensitive thing to write, but I do understand the sentiment from the myopic perspective of a football fan's message board. I don't think that when people are saying, "I wish Ralph Wilson would die", that they actually are meaning it from the standpoint of human life. Some might interpret it (rightly or wrongly) as such, but most people are probably just venting their frustration at the ownership of the team and are expressing their hope that things will be different under someone else's watch. At this point, the only way that the Bills will change ownership is upon Mr. Wilson's passing - that is a fact as far as we all know it. Because of this, we shouldn't be surprised to hear these seemingly insensitive remarks. In the callous world of the Internet, you'll hear "I wish Ralph would die". That should probably be translated in your head into, "I wish the Bills had a new, dynamic ownership that would breathe life into this stagnant franchise". Crass as it may be, if you are offended by this type of speech, you are playing with fire hanging out on message boards.
  18. Thank you for your thoughtful reply. I'm certainly not asserting that anyone "deserves" to be attacked because of their job description. My opinion of people being offended and "quitting" an Internet-based message board has nothing to do with their name, their job, their blood type, etc. My assertion is that you are doing it wrong if you take your ball and go home when someone insults you in this particular medium. I guess we disagree on the ethicalness of posting under a pseudonym to write about a subject that they cover. I would think that sharing your anonymous opinion, whether it be on a message board, to a letter to the editor of the local paper, or in a message to the President of the United States should not be a fire-able offense. I would think that someone terminated for anonymously posting their opinions on a message board would have significant grounds for a wrongful termination lawsuit. Just my non-legally binding opinion.
  19. Says the guy with the fellatio reference in his signature. Stay classy, San Diego!
  20. Sorry. I got caught up in other less sensible posts. I suppose you could view it as rationalizing the 'bad behavior'. I personally don't find the tone of Internet message boards offensive, or I wouldn't choose to participate. I don't get offended when I get called a mouth-breathing entitled drunken uneducated kid. It's just the nature of the media. While I don't think it is particularly kind to snipe with other posters, it is entertaining to some degree, and this is an entertainment medium. I also don't think that everyone should be forced to use their real IDs on message boards either - it is the very heart of the spirit of the Internet to facilitate the free and open discourse between folks. It is also the nature of this medium that if you do not wish to subject yourself to the fruits of anonymity, you can keep your browser closed. I'd hate to see that changed or censored because sometimes people get their feelings hurt. Agree? Disagree? Ps I hate you and think you smell
  21. That is the whole point. If you bring your name and job to an Internet message board (particularly one as tame as TSW), you shouldn't act surprised when you get more attention than some randoms (read: criticism). Most of us choose not to use our real identities for just that reason.
  22. Where did I cheer John's departure? Now you are just making things up, on top of being a hypocrite. Excellent! No.
  23. You make some very good points about how personal insults on an Internet message board are bad!
  24. I'm not trying to say that it is a 'good thing' to get personal with people on a message board. I'm only saying that, by now, if you post on a message board, you should not be surprised and have a tantrum if someone calls you a bad name. You should be even less surprised if you position yourself as some kind of expert or quasi-celebrity.
  25. OMG incivility!
