  1. I'm sorry that I made you feel sad
  2. Um guys, we are winless and literally the worst team in the NFL. Whether or not the Bills could beat the Las Vegas Locomotives made national headlines. Let's not be too surprised that much of the discussion surrounding this team takes a negative tone. This is as bad as it has ever been. Save the funshine kitten parade for when we win a single game
  3. Rian Lindell has probably been the most consistently good player for the Bills over the last several years. He is a great kicker, who'd get even more publicity if he didn't kick in weather hell. He'd surely have far more makes from 50+.
  4. All of the other teams get it now. Only the Bills must wait. Maybe he'll get good in 3 years just in time for free agency.
  5. We will draft a potential franchise quarterback if we are fortunate enough to pick #1 overall. I wish it weren't so, but from a pragmatic standpoint, securing that selection is very important. All things being equal, of course winning trumps losing. But, I promise you that Indianapolis fans are quite happy today that they lost the clutch games they needed to lose to lock up Manning over Leaf, thus all things are not equal.
  6. I agree - it was a very watchable game when we haven't had a ton of those over the last few years. But, the key is drafing an elite-level franchise quarterback if we are fortunate to hit the #1 pick jackpot.
  7. He made a mistake and didn't secure the ball. Players in that same situation do not fumble 100% of the time. Players are held up while the second and third man in go for the strip. He got caught and it was unfortunate. In the moment I'm sure he didn't see it coming. But yeah, just because it was Ray Lewis doesn't mean you can't secure the ball.
  8. Except for the simple fact that I was right. Well, he's actually getting less than 10 touches per game. But either way, the Bills are treating him the way that many pundits thought that he'd have to be treated due to his frame and running style - with kid gloves. I wish more than anything else that Spiller was a superstar workhorse. Just doesn't look that way.
  9. It was the ol' "Your ability to comprehend words must be limited." Tends to get people riled up when you call em dumb Well, I do only have season tickets, so that only gets me in to see half of their games. But the rest I do watch on television. Also, I never said it gives you "the whole story". You made that up. You can, however, observe which players are performing poorly by a combination of watching games live, and watching games on television. Doesn't take Vince Lombardi to watch our safeties get obliterated by a flea flicker to say they did it very, very wrong.
  10. If you include the down/time of the play, people can check to confirm whether or not you are making things up. I didn't observe Howard getting beaten but 4 or 5 times during the game, which isn't too bad. Certainly better than I'd have expected him to play against that rush, for sure. But, I didn't go back and watch it. I suppose it is possible that he was being abused, but nobody is going to believe what you say until you provide some detail/send some clips, etc.
  11. Just wondering why you chose that arbitrary game to wipe the slate of his past performances clean. I sort of assumed it would be because the game(s) prior had been terrible.
  12. Does the fact that Tampa Bay has the fewest sacks in the league but is tied for #4 with 10 interceptions sway your opinion at all? The Bills also had a pretty terrible pass rush last year when they recorded their high number of interceptions. Edit: I do think some pressure would help, but I also don't think that defensive pressure puts safeties in the position to make plays.
  13. I thought the point of this place was to discuss your opinions on the Buffalo Bills. Aren't we supposed to be debating the team? My opinion is that people were overrating Jairus Byrd, and I believe his play this year has in some way proven my opinion to be correct. If people can't handle that without resorting to insults, they get the ol' f you.
  14. This question actually cuts to the heart of the situation that this franchise is in, though people will be quick to shrug off the post without giving it some thought. I take Sam Bradford, even if I had to give up the #1 next year and any 4 players on our roster. Because the chance at getting elite-level franchise QB play is worth just about anything, if you are interested in competing for championships for a decade.
  15. I just want an elite-level quarterback, because I've noticed that the teams that have them are consistently competing for championships over the course of the decade that their QB plays. I also think that the most common way to obtain one of those elite-level franchise quarterbacks is to select them with a very high draft pick. I acknowledge that there are exceptions to both of those assertions, but I'd rather play the percentages.
  16. I wish I could take that bet, but I'm afraid you are probably right.
  17. What was his passer rating in his 26th start, just out of curiosity.
  18. *sigh* You really have a terrible attitude, buddy. First off, here is an idea for you: go f yourself. People that watch football have the ability to comprehend whether a player is playing well or poorly from watching the game. I don't need to be a coach to tell when a player has a good performance or a poor one. And you don't either. Are you telling me that Jairus Byrd is playing well this year? I know you aren't a coach either, but it's ok. I won't tell anyone if you want to have an opinion too.
  19. This is a common stance taken by folks that do not understand the rules. A player can be forced out of a boundary using any legal means of contact. Picking up a player and carrying them is not, nor has it ever been, a legal means of contact.
  20. Fitzpatrick is an average to below-average quarterback in the NFL as evidenced by his body of work throughout his journeyman career. He is a great teammate, and tries real hard and I think he should have a roster spot on this team moving forward. If the Bills are serious about competing for championships instead of rebuilding back to 7-9, they need to do everything they can to acquire an elite-level franchise quarterback. I believe their best chance to do this will be to use their #1 overall draft selection. I hope that rookie quarterback can mentor behind Fitzpatrick until he is ready to play, and I hope we bolster our defensive front seven and offensive line in the interim. Viola, a shot at being a decade-long playoff contender again.
  21. Another rule you should brush up on in conjunction with your crazy hypotheticals is the implications of being down by contact and how the rules differ when a player goes to the air to make a catch, vs. when they possess the ball in the field of play.
  22. It was obviously not an interception. The referee ruled it as such, and the call was not challenged so you can assume that the Bills also agreed that it was an obvious incompletion. They know the rules, and they applied them correctly. I know it makes us sad because it would have been a real nice play, but all the hypotheticals in the world doesn't change anything.
  23. The Bills aren't even last in the NFL in sacks this year, let alone the worst pass rush of all time. Just saying.
  24. Pull the rip cord, sir, this is starting to get away from you. Corner jumped into the air, caught the ball, and was pulled down out of bounds with one of his feet landing on the Ravens WR. Nobody was laying on anyone, nobody was spooning with another player for two seconds. It was just an incomplete pass (following some uncalled offensive pass interference).
  25. Also, consider that bad teams are bad because they consistently put themselves in position to lose and are often making the big mistakes that lead to losses. Ergo, a good team would usually contain good players, who would tend not to get stripped in overtime.
