  1. You are setting the War Room Draft Board Who are the top three picks for the Bills? No trades in the first round..... You have to be right... In what order would you pick and why......
  2. Give me Von Miller who can pass rush and cover backs out of the backfield along with TEs... He can play MLB and OLB stoping the run as well... a Future all Pro. Put him in the same backfield with all pro Merriman with our new linebacker coach calling the plays and we just vastly improved the worst linebacker group to the best in the NFL. There are a lot of Defensive lineman to chose from in the 2nd round all the way to the 7th round... I am sure Gailey knows who they are from the Senior Bowl... We are going to have a great draft in my opinion... But not sure we will have a NFL season this year... Are you?
  3. Would they then in the 2nd round pick a RT and in the 3rd a TE? .... Would they possibly go with their first three picks all offense to round out the teams offensive weaknesses? Then with the balance of their picks and free agency, go heavy on defense? I think it is possible....but maybe improbable.... If you were GM would you go that route...?? Assuming Newton is their pick that is.....
  4. Bills have a great list of canidates to select from... They might select CB Peterson... but if Florence comes back why select him? They might select DT Dareus..... all he brings is a player who is really good at DT and DE but not a pass rusher They might select OLB/MLB Von Miller... He brings it all and a future all pro... Think about M & M at the OLB positions who can do it all...(Merriman and Miller) Two all pros in the front seven. They might select QBs Newton or Gabbart.....OUCH... They sit while Fitz. plays like a star... They might select DE Bowers... Great player, good selection They might select DT Fairley ... He does not want to play in the cold, but is also a great player... Bills will also have a great pick in the second round (34th over all)... They can go in any direction, for they need talent everywhere. It would not surprise me at all to see some other team trade up with the Bills ... Giving the Bills a extra pick either this year or next year. Buddy Nix will have a great draft... Chan Gailey is a very good coach. He knows talent before he gets it on the team. Levy and Jauron were not good judges of talent especially at draft time. Bills are in much better hands now then they have been in many years... I expect a solid draft...Go Bills...
  5. With the first round pick the Bills hopefully will select DT Dareus or OLB Miller..... With the 2nd round pick hopefully the Bills will select QB Ponder or the Best athlete available at any position. We all know they need TALENT... Just start picking it Buddy. We do not have a top 100 Player on the Team... Lets start getting them and get us into the playoffs..... dem are me thoughts.....lol I am not sold on either of the top 2 QB canidates for the 3rd over all pick..... Maybe if we trade down I will reconsider, but only then... I just want a good draft with all 8 picks... any arguments???
  6. It is still my belief that Nix and Gailey will look hard at all choices for QB before the draft. It is also my belief their first choice will be to select DT Dareus or OLB Miller with the first pick and in the second round they will hopefully select QB Ponder...or the best athlete available at other positions.. God knows the Bills need TALENT everywhere.....
  7. I love all the talk about Buddy being interested in Cam Newton... It appears other teams are watering at the mouth to also get him... If they think he will be gone at #3, maybe Nix can get a good trade for the pick. Bills need additional draft picks. What a better way then to say, he may pick him. He is planting seeds if you ask me... When it comes down to the first two picks for the Bills, if no trade is possible, I believe Von Miller and Ponder are the players who will be chosen...... It is strickly a guessing game right now and everyone is right untill the draft...Go Bills
  8. No matter how we look at it.... I believe Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey have decided to take a outstanding LB by the name of Von Miller...In a interview after the Senior Bowl Miller said, he is presently 233 lbs..He said his playing weight was 237 lbs during the season.... He also said he can easily go to 245 lbs... He spoke intelligently... Every article I have read says he is a very gifted athlete. He can cover running backs and TE's in passing situations or he can go get the QB with the best of them and stop the run. (Maybin was a one year wonder, but Miller is'nt... Mabin is a weak 232 lbs) Remember Schobel played at 240 lbs and was very strong. This is why I believe the Bills select Von Miller with their first pick.....
  9. I saw Von Miller interviewed.... He told the reporter he is currently 233 lbs. He started the season at 243 and lost weight to 237 during the season...He also said it would not be hard for him to gain weight to 245 lbs when the combined started. He is an exceptional talent when rushing the QB. He can cover RBs out of the back field with his speed and intelligence. He will be very good in the NFL at OLB. But do the Bills need another OLB? I would rather the Bills draft OT Solder who played very well for the North in the Senior Bowl. He is big and athletic. A Quality right tackle added to our offensive line would actually fix the O-line for years to come. The draft is loaded with D-linemen and the Bills can get a quality MLB along with a QB in the draft if needed. I would rather see them get a backup QB in free agency and use the picks in the draft for more talent.
  10. Here is my prediction of what the Bills front office will do in free agency... Sign a veteran QB Sign a veteran RB Sign a veteran TE Attempt to sign a good OT ....They might succeed No trading of draft picks in any round...... In the draft we will see them upgrade early on at DT, DE, OLB and MLB...in no particular order I expect them to select a TE, CB, & S in the later rounds... Purely a guess... and hope I am right... They have a long ways to go to get really better... We have had a lousy front office for too many years with NO football people in charge until now.
  11. It is my opinion we will see more of the same from the Bills Front Office... This offseason we will see more of our better players let go for the same old reasons, only to play well for other teams. This leaves more holes for the F.O. to fill. We have not had a good draft in many years including the last one. Free agency has been a joke, acquiring other teams poor hand offs... I believe the Bills need to get a lot stronger in the Front Office. Buddy Nix did not have a good draft. Spiller, Troup and Carrington did not by any way set the team on fire. Why did they keep Maybin and McCargo even on the team ? A lot of second guessing can be done and will continue until Wilson really puts someone incharge who can control the ship. I am beginning to feel it may be too late for him to do it or even if he wants to do it... If the Bills are ever going to get better....It will start in the front office.
  12. That should be the New Nick Name for Buffalo's team. They deserve it. As long as we have the quality of talent on this team as we presently have, they should be called the "Titantic's", for they are going down. Thank You Mr. Wilson for giving us the team the Faithful fans Have to watch...
  13. Nix and Gailey are now running the show. It is a much better situation then the previous 10 years... Yeah, there are always going to be skeptics.... The decisions they have made to improve the club are now and always will be questioned... Deciding on who will play QB is major decision and Nix has decided one of the 4 already on the team will get the reins this year. He opted not to get Clausen or McCoy for good reasons. They are the experts and now have to prove it was the right decision. They went with Spiller at RB instead of selecting any other player available. Why? Jackson is going on 30 and Lynch could be going to the "hooscow" with one more infraction in the law. Besides Stiller is Mr. Excitement with and with out the football. Fans are going to like him. Nix and Gailey have decided to go with Bell, Merridith and Wang at LT. I hope it is a good decision. But giving up a high 2 in next years draft for Gather (Baltimore) is not the right decision ..... The Bills made what I feel were good selections in the draft. They had their choice of Nose Tackles left when they drafted 41st in the second round. A lot of time and effort when into that decision. Experts chose McCoy and Joseph over Thorpe. Experts in this case are the Media and they not good evaluators of football people on their own. The player we chose to play NT is going to be a good one. Wait and see, while the others will have problems like not playing up to their so called standards. Thorpe will remind of of a guy like Smerlas, if you can remember that far back. The Bills are young and going through a lot of changes on and off the field. They have a lot to prove, both the players and coaches. We can only hope for the best. The experts are rating the 2010 Bills the worst or 2nd worst in the league. Only the players can change that. T. Edwards needs to turn it around and lead this club. The O-line needs to jell and get healthy. The receivers need to get on the same page with Edwards. Gailey is taking care of that. The runners will be great. We have three great runners. The D-line is much improved. Linebackers are still question marks and have a lot to prove. The secondary was outstanding last year and they are all back, but under a new defensive system.. They all have so much to prove to the skeptics and they the skeptics are coming out of the woodwork..... I only wish they were all true Bills fans and had some constructive remarks instead of all the negativism we are reading on this board. It is a lot more fun reading about the positive aspects to this rebuilding club then when writers keep looking at the past to tear down hope for the future.
  14. Levy was a great head coach. A terrific organizer. Terrible judge of talent before the draft. But he got the most out of the talent he had. His record proves that. But he made too many mistakes judging talent. In the draft and coaches. (jauron) the guy was not perfect when he was with the Bills. But as a head coach Levy was one of the best...
  15. The optimism on this thread is refreshing, I expected to be accused of mental retardation by this point. Finally fans are taking a more realistic look at the Bills Offense. The big if is with the QBs and offensive line. Lets hope Trent Edwards and Gailey are both on the same page and the O-line comes to play man for man. Then look out. The defense looks to be vastly improved stoping the run. Solid D-Line with some quality LBs. If they can get a resemblance of a pass rush all the better. The secondary will be the best part of the defense. I' m liking this team more and more, especially the coaching......
  16. If the Bills need a QB next season lets hope Cleveland, Jacksonville and Seattle do not finish below the Bills. They too also need a quality QB. At the same time I hope the Bills do not need a QB next season... Wouldn't that be great ?
  17. Biggest Reason to believe the Bills will be better is the coaching and change in the Front office. Lesdership at the top is extremely important. I liked the approach Nix took in the draft. Free agency before and after the draft improved the team over all. Trying to fix everything in one year is impossible. The nay slayers have lots to still complain about, only the leadership of the team is taking the right approach to make this a more competive club. Will we make the playoffs??? Hell no, not with the over all weakness of the offensive line... Their play affects the entire offense. Their weakness makes quarterbacks, running back and receivers look far worse then they really are. Quarterbacks are in feer of their lives... (Trent's Concussions, when rushers are not blocked because of missed assignments) Blame the player blocking and offensive coordinator... O-line to young overall and not mature. They allow to many holes to run through by opponents giving the QB less time to see down field... Running backs are great on the team this season... But will the holes open up on a consistant basis? Can they run outside or will opponents shut the outside run down because of our lack of talent at both tackle positions. Will the receivers be better than last year? We have tall receivers at WR and TE. We have deep threats at WR, but will the QB have the time to find them/ The defense last year was 30th against the run and 5th against the pass. With the new talent and coordinator I expect to see them improve to 15th best in the league... Tall order but with the help of the secondary which comparitively is outstanding and with the new front 7, the Bills can move up quickly. Stopping the run is a must and they have the guys to do it this season... Yes the Bills will be better on the field... If one of the QBs comes through big time it will make one hell of a difference.. That is a very big IF... But who is to say it could not happen when you have the head coach taking the lead with the QBs and receivers... Lets see how good the coaches are in pre season and how the team looks to us fans before we write them totally off as the worst team in the NFL which many in the media are predicting..... We could surprise and be better than most people now think expect for the die hard skeptics who will predict doom and gloom at all costs for they have really in their hearts given up one the BILLS before OTAs have even begun... I do not know why they even care about the Bills anymore if all they predict is the worst for the team... It is no fun reading what they have to say when they try to remove all hope for this coming season.... At this point in time I would rather not hear it...for they are not constructive to most fans... They turn people off...
  18. After looking over the potential roster I feel the Bills will surprise us by putting a pretty good team on the field... They still have lots of question marks... I feel the Bills are still weak at both tackle positions... One of the QBs needs to step up. Another player besides Evans needs to step up and the TE position needs to be more productive. Over all I see a better offense because of the coaching changes and with Nix doing a better job then those picking before him. Even though the defense is changing to a 3/4 style I believe they now have the players who can play it up front (7).. The new defensive coordinator looks solid and capable.... The Bills will surprise us and not finish as badly as some in the media predict. However... We will still not make the playoffs in my opionion....... But they will put a exciting product on the field and not be out played....... Bills need more talent at certain positions and that will come with time.....

  20. Head Coach Gailey will pick the Best Players to make the 53 man roster. He owes NO allengience to any player. Factors such as contracts, age, position, favorites of other coaches will play NO factor in deciding who will make the roster. This is a rebuilding year to get the best players on this team as possible. I believe there will be some interesting cuts before the season begins. A trade or two might even be seen. This is a year to give younger players experience and to give the older more experienced players a chance to see if they belong. Nix showed us in the draft and free agency he is about to change the way the Bills look on the field. He can not do it all in one draft or off season. His predecessors were terrible selecting talent. (Primarily Levy and Jauron) Gailey now needs to take all the talent given to him by Nix and make it all work with cohevsiveness. Hard job to do, but he is up to it. I believe he will have a free hand picking the players on his team and we might see some old timers from last year cut for new blood.. I hope so... We are going to have to live with the QBs now on the roster for one year. If they do not come through the Bills will have at least 4 top flight QBs to pick from next year.... Clausen and McCoy are warm weather QBs. Not right for the Bills cold weather. I am glad Nix chose to build other aspects of the team and take our chanches with the QBs now on the team for at least one more year. We are not going anywhere anyway...
  21. Will the Bills take a player who has risk factors or will they pick a good but safe player/ It seems as if all the players have one problem or another. If the Bills can make a trade to move Lynch, I would say take RB Spiller.....if he is available above everyone else. Clausen looks to be a risky pick and will not help the team right away. Has maturity problems McClain looks to be a very good MLB with out many flaws DT Williams looks to fill the void at NT right away OT Bulaga will start at LT and if Bell shows great improvement, Bulaga could be moved to RT... RB Spiller looks like he is a scoring machine when on the field.... a real dynamic player OT Trent Williams looks to be a starter right away for the Bills at LT but has maturity problems OT Davis has high upside but is only 20 and could have maturity problems.... Only Nix, Modrak and Gailey know who they want the most...... Lets hope that player falls to them... You know they will tell us that no matter who they decide to pick...lol
  22. In my opinion here is one of the Bills War Room Hot Lists for thier first pick including a trade with the New York Giants..... 1.QB Bradford 2.DT Suh 3.DT McCoy 4.OT Okung 5.OT Williams 6.RB Spiller 7.MLB McClain 8.OT Bulaga 9.DE Morgan 10. QB Clausen 11.NT Williams 12.OLB Graham 13.OLB Hughes 14.OLB Kindle 15.QB Tebow if their is a trade with New York... Bills would use the extra pick to trade up into the latter part of round one. Players they will not draft, for they do not need help in these areas.... There could be a trade down however. CB Haden S Berry OT Davis S Thomas New York Giants are hot after MLB McClain... They may trade up for him with the Bills if he is available. Giving the Bills their 1st and 2nd round picks... I do believe however the Bills would like to draft McClain themselves if RB Stiller is already off the Boards along with OT Williams and maybe OT Bulaga... There is no way to know what the Bills will do until it is their turn to pick and then you only have 50 50 chance of picking the right player...... Chanches of them taking QB Clausen...very little in my opinion.....
  23. and would it be a solid move for the Bills and the Chargers ? http://www.eastcoastsportsnews.com/2010Draft.html It is just an idea right now...... but do you agree with this move for the Bills 9th pick and the trade?
  24. Build This Team back up to respectability by building the O-line and D-line up with a couple of quality players early in this draft... As we all know it all starts up front... We are not going to make the playoffs if we do not address the Trenches first. We need improved quality through out the whole team... I hope you can bring back some respectability to this team by having one of the better drafts in the league. Here is hoping the players you want are available when you select. Good Luck.......
  25. I believe their is a good possibility the Bills could trade down in the first round. Draft Tebow with their new 1st round pick and pick up an additional pick in the process... They could then trade up using their 2nd round pick and the new additional pick to select a hot player of their choice. The possibilities are endless... If they do not trade down I still would like them to draft OT Brian Bulaga, OT Trent Williams or DT Dan Williams in the forst round. They would find it hard to pass one of them up. Right now I would say do not draft QB Clausen. If he is available maybe some other team would want to trade up for him ? Tebow would be a great addition for the team, but I feel others may feel the same way before the Bills have a chance to select him in the 2nd round. New England for instance is loaded with 2nd round picks and has a 1st they could use for him if they feel he is that good. He probably is...
