  1. that was the gist of what Thurman Thomas told Howard Simon last week; that Brohm's head wasn't in the GB situation. He has stated that himself several times. By all reports, he appears primed to regain his form in this offensive system. He has considerable up-side but needs to play and develop not stand on the side lines watching Trent check down
  2. Accurate history - as I recollect he also had a thumb injury which I think was his senior year.
  3. "Judging players on prior performances is nonsensical" really? this statement is too ludicriuos to even be labeled "nonsensical"
  4. per last week's Brohm interview, he knows this is his chance and this is an offense he knows and has thrived in. GB was wrong fit; no clear opportunity, etc
  5. listen to the Thurman Thomas interview on Howard Simon Show WGR550. I can't access the link from work so I'll paraphrase, in addition to Thomas liking Brohm's questions re Kelly, Thomas said Brohm told him that he thought he was a first round pick and got disapointed when he fell to the second round. He got to GB and realized he had no chance at playing and got "lazy" Thomas observed Brohm's complete desire to lead this team now and seize this opportunity. Thomas commented that as long as he has known Trent Edwards, Thomas has never observed that desire from Trent
  6. Brohm had tremendous success in the power spread - he is a classic pocket passer not a west coast qb.

  8. national report of him boozing it up in Florida? link/source/cite? in any event, I can recall another Bills QB who famously boozed it up...hint, he wore #12
  9. trade Trent to the Eagles..they'll need another qb soon
  10. Eagles will need a another QB any day now...time to trade Trent
  11. Brohm with wood at center!!!
  12. why is anyone suprised by Brohm? - the guy was legit stud coming out of college but fell into a bad situation in gb and his confidence suffered. He is better than Edwards and Fitz; it's that simple.
  13. truth - I don't understand why Edwards is the presumptive starter according to media reports. It seems Brohm is outperforming him and so is Fitz for that matter; so Edwards gets is putative starter b/c Losman was so bad and Jauron loved Edwards? makes no sense - Brohm will deliver on the promise he showed coming out of college
  14. June 24, 2010Young & Younger on OLThe Buffalo Bills' young backups are getting plenty of work on the offensive line this spring. With left tackle Demetrius Bell and right guard Eric Wood rehabilitating from injuries, it has meant plenty of practice repetitions for reserves. Jamon Meredith has played with the starters as the left tackle all spring. (A story on him is scheduled for Friday's paper). But Meredith was nursing a minor ailment Thursday. And rookie fifth-round draft pick Ed Wang, who has been No. 3 on the depth chart at left tackle, is out with a sprained ankle. So the starting offensive line Thursday was, left to right, Nick Hennessey, Andy Levitre, Geoff Hangartner, Kirk Chambers and Cornell Green. The second-team O-line was, left to right, Hennessey, Cordaro Howard, Sean Allen, Chamberes and Kyle Calloway. Brian Brohm took the snaps with the first-team offense. The breakdown went like this in the first portion of practice: Brohm 4 plays, Trent Edwards 4, Ryan Fitzpatrick 4. Then Brohm got 8, Edwards 5 and Fitzpatrick 7, followed by rookie Levi Brown for three plays. Brohm had a good completion deep down the right sideline to Steve Johnson on the first play of team work. Johnson made a one-handed grab. Fitzpatrick had a good strike to Donald Jones on a slant, then made a nifty lofted completion deep down the middle to Marcus Easley. It looked like a bust by the third-teamers in the secondary. On his second series, Brohm had good-looking completions to Johnson on a slant and Lee Evans on the sideline. Jones made a good diving catch on a slant from Edwards. Naaman Roosevelt had a good catch on an out-route from Fitzpatrick. James Hardy was hobbled a bit and his repetitions were limited. Reggie Torbor continued to get more snaps than Aaron Maybin with the starters at outside linebacker. Marshawn Lynch continued to be a clear No. 3 to Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller in plays at running back, which is no surprise since Lynch stayed away from most spring practices. The Bills work again this afternoon then have one more closed practice Friday morning before dispersing until training camp. ---Mark Gaughan
  15. Seriously, if Edwards is given the job; it's going to be a challenge to sit through the games....haven't we suffered enough already? I read in the media that it's Edward's job to lose but he had already lost the job last year - Brohm appears sharper in the footage and in the reports from OTAs. For the love of the fan base, please don't give it to Edwards b/c that's the easy thing to do, Chan. Brohm's upside is much better
  16. Brohm throws the best ball; it's evident in each of the dailys posted on bb.com
  17. completely agree with your assessment. I watched almost all of Brohm's college games and prayed the Bills would draft him. I never understood why GB did and in his interviews he just says it was a tough spot but he knows he can start here and wants to. also, thanks I just read the another thread about Maybin now so yeah it's alarming that he is getting 2nd team reps. I suspect Nix et al doesn't think too highly of the one year wonder
  18. this was the story on Brohm coming out. Played in pro style offense, good touch, strong enogh arm, accurate, pro size - 230 now, prolific passer. He had a bad experience in green bay so what. it appears Gailey, et al want him to suceed here and I believe he will. He'll only get better w/ more reps. wish Wood was out there now. also where is Maybin?!?! anyone know if he is even there?
  19. no video up yet at bb.com what a TE streaking down the middle of the field?!? I must see this video!
  20. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-3...65-73e321ef1c01 Afternoon playmakers Brian Brohm dialed up a deep ball down the far sideline early in 7-on-7 hitting Felton Huggins in stride for a 40-yard pass play. Huggins also made a reception in stride on a well-timed play with Brohm later in that same series. Joe Klopfenstein and Jonathan Stupar were again frequent targets of Brohm in the afternoon session. The best of their receptions was when Klopfenstein split the safeties down the middle of the field for a big gain. Marcus Easley continues to make plays. The fourth-round pick had a few more catches in the afternoon including a nice hands catch late on a pass from Brohm that was outside his body frame. During one-on-ones earlier in practice, Easley gave a shoulder fake inside and got outside of his cover man Leodis McKelvin down the sideline for what would’ve been a long touchdown under normal game conditions. C.J. Spiller made the most of a dump off from Brohm. With the blitz bearing down on him, Brohm dumped it off and Spiller got through a closing hole quickly to gain positive yardage up field. Late in practice Brohm had a well-executed bootleg pass to Steve Johnson right along the sideline for first down yardage, that drew praise from head coach Chan Gailey.
  21. yeah Brohm throws a nice deep ball - check out his college clips (in a pro set). best clip from camp thus far imo is where he takes snap stares down center of the field and then throws a strike to a darting cj spiller down left sideline...hoping that's what's to come
  22. Apparently Gailey spends the entire practice behind Brohm. From the clips, he looks fluid in his throwing motion. there was one where he took the snap stared down the center of the field then threw a strike to a darting CJ Spiller down the left sideline. and a few where he threw 55 yard bombs for completions according to reports and the video. Got to expect that it will take time to develop timing with the receivers; so ints and missed timing patterns/throws are to be expected. Also Stevie Johnson said “It’s good to get a feel with Brian because we didn’t have too many reps together last year, but we’ll have a lot this year I know that,” said Johnson. “We’re out here just trying to get a feel for each other. It might not look all good now, but it will in the end.” from Chris Brown's report re this morning. also, he's put on 10 pounds through strength training in the offseason - up to 230. He came to start
