Given our history of keeping character high and getting rid of dissidents to bring in Nix and Gailey all stars....Peters for Bell, Green et al.- Owens, Incognito, Evans et al to establish a "new" team. We really have make a clean cut and trade Fred Jackson for a fifth round pick to the Patriots, Dolphins or Jets. We might consider trading Moorman as well.

At What Point Do Nix and Gailey Own This Team
tennesseeboy replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Nix and Gailey own it...getting to the point nobody else will want it. -
or mybe Brad Smith?
-
Excuse me? I think I missed the beginning of the beginning.
-
Let me get this right...the guy is a pile of crap at offensive gaurd, so we are going to move him to put a pile of crap at offensive tackle? Sounds like a Gailey/Nix move. Nine wins Chan and Buddy...or you ought to be out of here.

First round pick that's not a pro-bowler? I'd be happy with a first round pick who could actually be serviceable. Spiller ain't done it yet and Maybin didn't do it..come to think of I don't remebmer McKelvin being in the pro bowl selections nor do I remember Whitner as a pro-bowler. Dpiller sucks until he doesn't suck. All he has to do is run, block and catch passes.

Wow...he seems to be playing well for the dolphins. Hmmm...Evans seems to be playing well, McGahee seems to be playing well. Who isn't playing well? OHHHHHH....the buffalo freaking bills.

One of my biggest concerns about Fitzpatrick
tennesseeboy replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think, being a rational human being his thought is.... Are these frigging offensive linemen ever going to block? Will CJ at least TRY to throw his scrawny body in front of one of the onrushing linemen, linebackers, corners, safeties, punters, cheerleaders and opposing fans that seem to be in the backfield the second the ball is snapped? Is there an ambulance at the ready? -
He's doing a good job of losing it. However he does have one major strongpoint...we don't have anyone better than him on our roster, having traded away Lynch.
-
What this team has always needed was balance. We had good running backs in Jackson and Lynch, a bad offensive line, a solid receiving corps with Johnson and Evans and no quarterback. Now Gailey and Nix, through brilliant personnel moves, getting rid of players like Incognito, Evans, Poz and Whitner have brought a balanced attack to the game. Our offensive line sucks but we hardly notice it because our receivers suck, which we fail to notice because our quarterback isn't very good. Our defensive backfield looks like a twelfth grade girls team compensating for a defensive front three that isn't all that bad. On the good side, Moorman and Lindell look pretty good and we got a free agent who is kind of a qb, kind of a receiver and kind of a returner. I think we are turning it around and will be in the running for the first round pick next year.

I missed the part where he actually had time.

rigid character decisions got us where we are today. We could have drafted Bryant McKinney over character guy Mike Williams. We could have gotten Mike Vick over character guy JP Losman/Trent Edwards or ryan Fitz. We could have drafted Randy Moss or jeremy shockey....nope...we are at fourth place in the AFC East with character guys.

Lee Evans playing well in Baltimore

Well...it was buddy and chan'd decision. I've got to assume they have someone better to take his place. 9 wins buddy and chan....9 wins. -
China/Georgetown "goodwill" Basketball game
tennesseeboy replied to Kingfish's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I guess the Chinese team is an army team and has a reputation for dirty play. My son played college hockey goalie and said the dirtiest hockey team he ever played in college was West Point. Love to test those Chinese guys for roids! -
I'd like to see the o-line get LOTS of reps. I would play the starting line and best backups for about three quarters hopefully to get them to gel in pass protection and improve run blocking. I would like to see the defense just get through it without injury.

Gannon predicts Bills will finish last in AFC East
tennesseeboy replied to xsoldier54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
how can he possibly pick us to finish LAST in the AFC East? oh wait a minute...we finished last year with a 4-12 record and nothing major has happened since. Kind of a no-brainer to pick us last especially considering that the New England Patriots and the Jets pretty much have a pre-season lock on 1 and 2. Maybe we will finish ahead of the Dolphins, but that isn't exactly the kind of reach for the stars objective that is going to get fans all that happy. Ed. -
he might even be another Brad Smith....wait a minute....we ALREADY HAVE Brad Smith. Can he play Offensive Tackle? The strategy is to forget about the offensive line and get lots of qb's so you won't feel so bad when they get hurt from not having any pass blocking. Doesn't that make sense?

" 'They' put me in the right situation"
tennesseeboy replied to FightinIrishBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Makes me think more highly of Nix and Gailey (and believe me I didn't think all that highly of them to begin with) that they at least made a play for Vick. Goodell and the probation officers were real jackasses, and both Cincinnatti and Buffalo should get some kind of compensation for that treatment. -
College Football - Do You Follow a Team? A Conference?
tennesseeboy replied to ajzepp's topic in College Football
i like the SEC and don't know why we would take the Aggies. Geography doesn't make sense, tradition doesn't make sense, and I would think we would want an odd number of teams. Virginia Tech, assuming they wanted to come, or West Virginia or North Carolina might be interesting possibilities, or even a Florida State or Miami. As far as I know, all of those teams are pretty happy where they are. Don't see Texas A and M coming to the SEC though. -
Can he play offensive tackle?

New York Times Bills Preview
tennesseeboy replied to o.p. native's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I kind of agree, but it is a little to horrible to contemplate that there is an offensive line problem but its okay because the running game, qb and receivers suck.... Seriously I think Fitz and Johnson showed flashes and Jackson ran well even with a bad offensive line. If we fix the line (rember the Jets getting Ferguson, Mangold and others before they got Sanchez.)we can really move forward.
