  1. Wow, i go on espn.com and the first thing i see is... BILLS FIRE ENTIRE COACHING STAFF!! i was shocked to read this, but what it tells me is that Ralph wants to win, and he does care. THis is a giant step in the right direction, and this is just a part of what needs to be done this offseason... now we need to get the staff, and get the right players
  2. Wow, our Qb is finally getting time 2 throw....if only our offense was like this every game
  3. Lets face the reality. If we expect to build our team through the draft, and have a contender in a year or two, we're dreaming. In the 80's, thats exactly what the Bills did. They built their team through the draft. But it took a while, and with very good draft picks like Bruuuuuuuuucccceeee, Kelly, Reed etc. Now, sure we can build from the draft, and i bet it could work with some decent draft picks. But the question is HOW LONG COULD IT TAKE? and IS IT REALLY NECESSARY? Well, i think WITH SOME GOOD PICKS it can take another 2-3 years best case scenario. And let's think about our team for a minute. If we look back at our season, most of our games were lost by the offense. I'm not saying our defense is great, but it is not bad either. We just need a couple more solid additions in the front 7, and WE WILL BE A TOP 10 DEFENSE. On the other hand, our offense is a total mess. No qb, and no o-line. Our rb's are good, and wr's arent bad either. Now, I am sure that we will get our QB and O-line problems resolved this offseason. Buddy Nix knows what he's doing, and i trust him to make the right moves. With that being said, wouldn't a good QB and a decent o-line mean much better offense? Yes, it would. With a more consistent offfense, and a decent defense, we could be a playoff team by next years time. So is it necessary to start building through the draft, and live another 5 years in misery, i dont think so.
  4. We can build the o-line via free agency, but it is very unlikely that we will get a franchise QB in free agency. Penningtion is available, but he is getting old. I say we take a shot at a qb first round. Tebow, Bradford, McCoy, Pike, Clausen are all QB's with a lot of potential.
  5. Highlights from Nix news conference December, 31, 2009 Dec 31 5:46PM ET By Tim Graham ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buddy Nix's introductory news conference provided quite a bit of between-the-lines insight on how he plans to approach the Buffalo Bills. His first major decision will be to hire a head coach, and although he declined to discuss names, it sure sounded like interim coach Perry Fewell won't be the choice. Here are a few highlights I picked up from Nix's Q&A with reporters Thursday at One Bills Drive. The Bills want a coach with a proven track record. In outlining the qualities he most values in a head coach, Nix stressed the ability to assemble a staff. Fewell's only head coaching experience will have been the seven games Buffalo gave him after firing Dick Jauron. You know what, I know actions speak louder than words, but from this interview, I really like what Nix has to offer. It doesnt look like he'll bring any big free agents, but i think he'll bring some FA'S that are mediocre, but also get the job done. He understands what we need as head coach. He WILL bring someone in with previous coaching expreience, which is good to hear. He also wants to have better strength and conditioning coaches, which is also great to hear becuase we know about all our injuries, and they are not a coinidence. Overall, I think Buddy Nix will build a good team. I dont know how long it would take, but from the sound of it, the team should definitely improve next year. GO BILLS!
  6. Well, we finally got a GM. He may not be a bill polian, but i'd much rather have nix making football decisions than brandon. So now we have to find a coach. Oh boy, where do we start?! Cowher would be the best guy coaching this team in franchise history. Let me tell you this. If ralph throws enough money at him, he WILL COME TO BUFFALO. Its gonnna come down to who gives him the most coin. Some other options could be Leach, Martz, BILLICK, etc. We need to get the right caoch, because im telling you folks, if a good coach is in place, we will start seeing some good physical, exciting and discipline football for once.
  7. Defense: Byrd: yes Whitner: Backup because he plays the free safety i believe like byrd Scott: backup Wilson:yes Florence: Yes but probably nickel ( most underrated guy on this team) Mcgee: yup hes our best corner when healthy Mckelvin: yup hes a good young player with lots of pottential and dare i say it A GREAT KICK RETURNER LOL poz: yes our best linebacker by far mitchell: he needs to be more consistant but im sure he'll stay ellison: backup at the best, will be replaced Stroud: gone ( hes past his years) Williams: hes gonna stay Schobel: he'll stay as long as he doesnt retire Kelsay: no way hes back Maybin: I dont know what role he'll have, but hes in buffalo for at least 5 more years Offense: O-line butler-yes wood-yes levitre-yes bell- c ya hangartner- tough one to call, but i think he'll be around Qb's Edwards-he should be the backup! Fitz- get outta here Hamdan- who cares? wR'S[/u] Owens- gone Evans-hes here hardy-yup johnson-he'll b here parrish- i want him as a punt returner only Jenkins-specail teams so he'll b around rb's Lynch- He's havinga bad year for whatever reason, but remember hes a pro bowler and he will get back to his old form by next year so he'll stay Jackson: YUPPPPPPPPPP Needs ( 1 being the most important) 1. QB 2. LT 3. LB 4.DL 5. WR
  8. I think its probably byrd making the pro bowl.....and Sabers suck GO LEAFS GO!!!!!!!!
  9. What are your top 3 worst losses in bills history? Mine: 3. Patriots or Cowboys on MNF 2. Music City Miracle 1. " Wide right"
  10. Hey, it sounds dumb to ask, but i wasnt around to watch the bills in the 90's unfortunately. I know he was the GM in the glory days, but how did he get out of buffalo? Was he fired, or did he leave himself?
  11. Why do people have to be so negative about their favourite team? OK, we all know they're bad. We can see. Their are some positives of this team though, and i think we should talk about the positives instead of the negatives.
  12. Last offseason, we were supposed to " rebuild our offensive line ". If i can recall, our starters for last year on the o-line were: jason peters, derrick dockery, melvin fowler, duke preston and brad butler. Only Brad Butler is stil on this team. Now, last year the o-line wasnt bad. It wasnt great, but it was a respectable line. Edwards almost always had time to throw, but sometimes there werrent any holes for lynch and jackson to run through. Now tell me, what did we accomplish by " rebuilding this line"? I 'll tell you what we accomplished. Now, we have the worst o-line in the league, and it is immposible to move the ball on offense. THe only move i like was getting rid of Dockery, because he was way to much money. Fine. We get rid of dockery, and replace him with wood or levitre. Our line has made edwards look like ****. It has made Evans look like ****. iT has made TO look like ****. It has made Lynch look like ****. It is fair to say, that most of our struggles on Offense was due to the line. At least the seasons almost over. GO BILLS!
  13. What rating were we giving trent after his first start against the jets? Didnt we think he is our future quarterback? Guys, dont bet your money on Brohm, because history has proven that franchise quarterbacks are taken in the draft. ie) kelly, manning, brady!!
  14. hes an offensive coordinator..hed actually be a good one for us....NOT A HEAD COACH@!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I also saw some things i liked from brohm, but we cannot just lock him up as a franchise qb. Let's look at the reality. We dont draft a qb in the high rounds of the draft, but we draft offensive lineman or defensive lineman etc. Brohm is our starting qb for next year, and halfway through the year we realize even with a good o-line he cannot produce. My point being is that brohm doesnt have enough time to show what he can do, and we still need to draft a qb in the first or second round. I am tired of losing, and we need to have a definite franchise qb.
  16. i was just loooking at the free agency list for next year, and i see some good offensive lineman, and linebackers. I say we get a linebacker from FA, and one tackle. We draft a qb in the first round, and an o-lineman in the second. Who knows what'll happen. Next thing u know, peyton manning signs with the bills, or we trade jairus byrd and poz for a 3rd round pick lol
  17. will be better, worse, or the same for next year and why. My opinion: Ralph Wilson is 90 years old, and i know he wants a superbowl team. I think he will give out the money to a coach, and a GM, and i reallly believe that we will make the right moves this offseason for a change, since the problems are so obvious. I think we;ll see a more competitiive team next year and if you think about it, it doesnt get much worse than this season has been
  18. BREAKING NEWS: BILLS RE-SIGN TERRELL OWENS TO A 5 YEAR DEAL WORTH $50 MILLION
  19. Lets worry about getting a real team before worrying about the schedule for next year
  20. For me, this was the worst game to watch this season. It was actually the only game that we werent in for the first 3 quarters at least, which is surprising. WHen the offense needed to convert a 3rd down, they didnt. The defense had chances to stop the falcons on several fourth downs and they didnt. It is kind of what i expected from this defense after all these inuries. Couldn't stop the run or pass. You have to cut them some slack though, as mckelvin, mcgee, mitchell, ellison, and byrd are all out, and a few of those players are vital to our success on D. As for our offense, same old same old. The o-line is the worst in the league by far. Jackson and lynch have no where to run most of the time, and brohm usually had to rush his throws. I thought brohm played decent for his first game, considering he is just starting to learn the system. It will be interesting to see what this kid can do. I liked some of the throws that he made, and he seems decisive with the football. I also thought he did well against the pressure most of the time, as he got rid of the ball quickly to his receivers. We should just forget about this yeaer. It has been horrible. In the offseason, we must build a good o-line. With a good o-line, we can be a dominatn team running the ball and whoever our QB may be, we can have a stable passing attack. And wtf is this nonsense. SCHOBEL RETIRING!? 10 SACKS ON THE SEASON. HE IS NOT SLOWING DOWN. we need schobel. Anyway, we'll see wha happens in the future, and thank god there is only one more game left. LETS RUIN THE PERFECT SEASON FOR THE COLTS! Keep in there bills fans. GO BILLS!
  21. Last year, Pennington led the dolphins to the playoffs, without any quality receivers. Last year, where was michael vick? OH yea, in prison! I was never really liked vick when he was in his prime in Atlanta, and now after not playing for two years, i dont see how hes any better or even the same as before. If we have a chance to get pennington, we have to get him!
  22. brohm should've been starting after the loss to the jets....but he didnt and now i dont know what the hell he can prove
  23. We've gone all year talking about how much this team stinks, and how we need to clean the house. THe last time i checked, cleaning the house means to start from GROUND ZERO. Starting from ground zero means no playoffs for more years to come, which is all us bills fans need!! The rams need to start from ground zero. THE BUCS need to start from ground zero. the browns ( who managed to beat us!) need to start from ground zero. The bills DO NOT NEED TO START FROM GROUND ZERO!!!!! The problem is not our defense. sure it is not great, but it is nto bad either. We're third against the pass, but last against the run. to fix our run issues, we need to get a solid linebacker to replace ellison, and a big lineman to replace stroud or williams. The problem is mostly with our offense and coaching. Lets forget about our horrible o-line for a sec, and think what this season could've been if edwards played well and didnt get hurt. I see us winning at least 3 more games, which could've put us in a great position to make the playoffs. THe coaching is awful, but with jauron gone, i think we will get a real coach, and a real system in the offseason. With that being said, i think we get a QB in the first round, and a tackle in the 2nd round. We can get a linebacker in free agency, and im sure there are many lb's better than ellison or mitchell. People don't overestimate the state of this franchise. The pieces are there, now we have to do a little fixing here and there, and we will see our team back in the playoffs! GO BILLS!
