  1. You just described the effects of the financial crisis, so I'm not really sure what your point is. As to your "trickle down" theory, if you're not going to answer TYTT or LABF's questions can you at least identify the fundamental policy changes that make the Bush years distinctly more "trickle down" than the Reagan, Bush 1, & Clinton years? Also, if you could, will you tell me about this deregulation, when it occurred, and specifically how it impacted the economy? Thanks, man.
  2. You sound like a Bills fan talking about how badly the Pats* suck.
  3. How would you know? You don't even know what it is.
  4. Good God man. How did you fit so many false choices & red herrings in such a short post? I'm coming back to this one when I have time to address it thoroughly.
  5. This is more like a game where neither team did enough to win, but somebody had to lose. The fact that we have an impending debt crisis that's running full speed toward the cliff & neither side gave ANY explanation of how to deal with it says it all. I don't get, given the situation, how anyone, regardless of who won the election, could sit back, relax, & think everything is fine. Never underestimate the power of denial, I guess.
  6. People who disagree are welcome & appreciated. But you have to add something of value to earn respect. I can't imagine you honestly believe your OP was in anyway insightful. It was inflammatory, derisive, & based solely on the tenuous connection between your prejudices and what you observed. It bothers me, because I tend to have a lot more respect for what you bring to the main board that the childish babbling you so often bring here. And it's not just a party thing. I know plenty of people far to the left of you who are intelligent & discuss ideas - that's not what you're doing here. They wouldn't give the garbage you posted in this thread the time of day. If someone came out to the courtyard & started spewing this crap the crowd would disperse, libs included, and everyone would suddenly have somewhere they had to be.
  7. So, basically, if you were born to wealthy parents you can't possibly understand macroeconomics? I think you guys WAY overstate the value of growing up in mediocrity. Not to say there's no value in having a leader who knows what it's like to struggle, but let's not blow it out of proportion here. I also find it interesting the extent to which you discount the undeniable reality that some of the most important factors causing those who start off with money ending up with money include growing up in a household with parents who value success, know how to make it happen, instill those values, and take an active role in making sure their children make the most of their education. There's nothing government can do to provide an equivalence. The idea that equal access to facilities is the difference is beyond naive. The part that really gets me is this idea that free market principles shut the door on those at the bottom while liberal policies somehow elevate them. In truth, the exact opposite is true. I know plenty of people who have risen from nothing to prosperity & NOT ONE owes his success to some feel good government program.
  8. It's not me I'm worried about.
  9. That last post was masterful
  10. I guess I kind of get what you're saying, but I don't think they're equivalent. The victimhood on the left is more about oppressed minorities, poor, etc. where we're constantly made to believe everyon who doesn't have it made in the shade is a victim (and everyone doing well did it at their expense. With the news thing, it's not a matter of a party being victimized, it's a matter of massive segments of the society being misinformed in ways that become dangerous. I think sometimes people put the cart before the horse. I remember someone arguing that some of the absurd things Bush did were great b/c it was political genius. By doing what liberals said they were going to do he'd win the middle. I wondered what was the point of having your guy win if he was going to do what the other guy wanted to do. Are you surprised at my tears, Mr. BF? Strong men also cry. Strong men...
  11. You're conflating charity with servitude.
  12. You agree that because you're fortunate enough to live in country that allows you to reap the fruits of your labor you should be happy to let the government confiscate the fruits of your labor?
  13. I realize Duck here is just trolling, but out of curiosity, does anyone actually think like this? Seriously?
  14. 1. I never complain about MSNBC. Why? Because they're honest about who they are. 2. This victim thing just shows how much you're missing the point. When the ship sinks we all go down. The fact that you see it through this prism makes me think you view politics like you do sports. 3. I'll cry where ever I please.
  15. It's not just tax rate & it's not just Democrats - Domocrats are just worse. How anyone can look at our national fiscal situation & think you can continue to expand entitlements & cover it all by squeezing business & raising tax rates a few % points, is beyond me. I wish someone could explain the math for me so I can stop stressing out about it.
  16. You cry like a pu$$y over news outlets that only people seeking news tune into, and one's that are open and honest about their bias, saying things that offend your religious convictions. Then you claim that everyone should shut up when the pop-culture media sets the narrative that manipulates news and leads disinterested, uninformed, and unsuspecting voters to have false perceptions. But because it's the perception you want them to have it's all good. I personally don't care what you or your limp-wristed bretheren choose to believe. I just wish you'd leave the rest of us out of it. That's the problem with you guys. You're never content to confine the implementation of your idealistic projects and policies to those who voluntarily submit to them. But when people don't want to play your game, because it's f*cking stupid, you go whining to your daddy (i.e. the government) to make them play. And when they say "Hey ass hole, how about you back the f*ck up off my sack" you throw a little temper tantrum and then accuse them of whining, without so much as a hint of irony.
  17. Did I miss something?
  18. You really are an idiot. You don't even get the point you're arguing against. Wipe the drool from your chin.
  19. I don't want to see anyone get a real injury, but some of you guys are awfully pious. When you watch boxing or MMA do you shield your eyes from the violence? I mean ****, you wouldn't want to see someone get hurt.
  20. Sick my duck. When you libs stop soaking tampons over Fox News and talk radio, despite having the biggest microphone that speaks to the pop-culture crowd that votes but doesn't follow the issues, I might be a little more receptive to what you have to say on the issue. It's not unintentional and it's not harmless. One party's scandal is another parties "no big deal".
  21. http://www.infowars.com/poll-nearly-one-third-of-americans-would-accept-tsa-body-cavity-search-in-order-to-fly/ Yeah, yeah, I know it's Infowars. I kept the poll anonymous so you can answer honestly.
  22. You're not kidding. Access Hollywood was playing in the background last night and everyone acted like they'd just won the lottery.
  23. If you even deny this you either have your head in the sand, you're not watching, or you're so far left that you can't even see it. I watched ABC coverage. Every single person on their team is a hard left Democrat. And I don't think I even need to mention NBC. They let their true colors show. They were orgasmic Tuesday night and Wednesday.
