  1. I wouldn’t have high hopes all this Bills have done in recent years is going in circle. I have never been a Ralph Wilson basher but at 94 it is about time someone else takes over as an owner and Robert Rich Jr. would be great. The Bills are a Buffalo institution so renewal of the stadium lease and the sale of the club to an owner dedicated to the area would good news. But all this is speculation let’s wait and see.
  2. [but I guess the league has run the numbers and shown that they'll make a ton of money with 2 more regular season games. It is all about $$$$$ 18 games within a 22 week schedule! More nationally telivised games more Monday night games, etc. Sooner or later I'm afraid the NFL will do it.
  3. The NFl already extended its regular season by adding bye weeks. An 18 game schedule would allow the NFL to make more money especially with television with two more Sundays and possibly more mid-week Thursday night games. But what would be the interest of fans of a team say with 6-10 or 4-12 record? There is always the other side of a coin.
  4. A lot of people on this forum and in Buffalo tend to mix Toronto and the rest of Canada. Please don't. I would say there are more Bills fans in Canada that you could ever have thought. I come from Quebec a city that lost its hockey team for the same reasons the Bills could leave Buffalo one day ( small market, lack of revenues other than sales of tickets) and we could hear players whining about the cold weather and snow... In addition we had greedy owners which I won't call Mr. Wilson since he kept the Bills in Buffalo for half a century and they will remain there as long as he lives. But when he goes someone will have to stand up and that will be a turning point in the Bills' franchise. Having lived the Nordiques relocation to Denver I fully understand the football situation in Buffalo. I fully agree with Soulfly 3 about the excitement being brought back. We lacked excitement over the last years especially under Jauron. The last draft came like a breath of fresh air after a few ordinary seasons. I have no intention to attend a Bill game in Toronto even if it would take roughly one hour by plane no customs. I prefer to make it to the Ralph usually around Thanksgiving with connections in Detroit or Newark. That's the real place to live the NFL experience. In the meantime let's hope the team shows real improvement on the field as would deserve its loyal fans.
  5. Heels20X6 is right: McNall made his fortune as a coin collector and he was instrumental in the trade that brought Gretzky to L.A. in 1988. As for John Candy we can still see reruns of the shows he hosted in the 1980's on Game TV in Canada. He was an avid sport fan and he got involved as much as he could in the Argos venture.
  6. Marv Levy was a great coach and he was one of the reasons why I became a Bill fan in the 1980's but I agree his tenure as a GM was awful. The inner circle gave me the impression that they sort of lived in the past and naming Jauron as head coach and being that patient with him ruined the second half of 2008 and the first half of 2009. I like Nix's attitude but let's wait and see if words turn into action. 6-10 is no disaster and the rebuilding process could go in the right direction provided the RIGHT coach is in place. Thanks for the memories MR. Levy but 2010 has to be the start of a new era.
  7. I make one trip to Buffalo each year and I am very pleased with this NFTA service: http://www.nfta.com/metro/gameday-bills.asp Hope it helps!
  8. It's a quarter to midnight and the BIG news is rookie safety Jairus Bryd being named to play in Pro bowl!!! Not exactly the news were were expecting. Glad for him anyway. http://www.buffalobills.com/
  9. Good point SUNTANBILLSFAN2. We have to give Brohm some time. You mention Aikman but what about Bradshaw. He was intercepted a couple a times in his very first game and look what he's done after.
  10. Your opinion is all but meaningless. You bring some real good points in your post but let me put the emphasis on the stength and conditioning program. Every team that goes throurgh a football season must have an appropriate program and I doubt the Bills to be in that category. LET's hope the Bills management gives it ome thought among other things. No of injured players is way too many to even hope to be a contender.
  11. As it has been noted above Rogers Center (originally known as the Skydome) was buit for baseball even though it was used for football and basketball (1995-1999). It is definately not a football stadium by any standard. As for the NFL moving to Toronto I doubt it very much as long as the CFL Argos will be part of it. The NFL always made it a point not to interfere with the day to day CFL operations - unless its stand changed lately.
