Tipped Balls are becoming an issue-thoughts as to why??
NoSaint replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
it’s completely possible something flukey happened as it’s still a smallish sample size, but it’s getting large enough that it’s likely something our blockers or qb or scheme has contributed to as the season progresses and we are uniquely on that pace. -

other teams would be playing those taller guys too -
yes and no? Any RB will dilute YPC with dump offs and screens etc… behind the line. Some can run a real route and some can’t. I don’t think CMC is giving diggs or Davis a run for their money deep but if you plopped him at slot wr with a healthy dose of intermediate routes I do believe that YPC goes up a bit. perhaps I’m overestimating his skill set there but I’ve seen him run some genuine WR quality routes in the bit of seen him and not just be a RB that can catch a lil better than average. Yea, it’s ultimately a matter of draft capital… and as that price goes up you need to start feeling more comfortable with the future year cash.
-
his one perk is he is a very good wr and much cheaper than a halfway decent wr I know you aren’t a fan of backs being a premium, but putting that aside, I do think CMC is likely a better slot WR than McKenzie, not even qualifying him with lowering the bar for a running back. Like you could plug him into Mckenzies role full time and be an upgrade, with flexibility to pick up carries

my gut tends to be here, though I think Kromer is top notch so it surprises me to be saying that. We will see what film says at some point probably -

Tipped balls a big play for a defense. If they figured out how to do it to Josh wouldn’t they do it to everyone? again, I think this may be either a blocking issue (letting guys get high without getting a good hit in) or not getting our line and routes synced up on timing yet (throwing a quick pass through a zone where a blocker would find himself in pass pro) -

I don’t think there’s anything indicating we are throwing so many short passes that Josh would be on pace for a record number or tipped balls. -

allen is not uniquely throwing short routes at a clip that would explain 100% more than the league leader last year and an nfl record I believe. either there’s some dumb luck (likely some), a blocking technique issue (likely something here too), an issue with the throwers technique (maybe but he has history of it not being an issue) or possibly something with the pairing of the route trees paired with blocking schemes (are we possibly running wrs into zones that pair with pass rushers likely being in the way) -
Established HC that had a Super Bowl ring had many Super Bowl rings had 7 years as a college head coach and wore out his welcome in the nfl in 3(?) years despite a great record in large part due to his personality and finds himself in the college ranks. is in Syracuse. I’ll be the first to agree 32 teams would be willing to overlook Sean Payton’s baggage if they needed a head coach next season. I think there are only a handful of jobs and that Dorsey would need a pretty immaculate resume to jump ahead of a guy like that. I don’t think it disqualifies him. I think it’s a small strike. I think some of y’all are really struggling with the idea that I’m saying someone may consider it and not that every owner will black ball him.
-
you are right. No owner or GM in the entire nfl may have even a moment of pause. Guys that have never met him and have no familiarity will not at all wonder about his temperament even the slightest.
-
“we fired our coach and have 5 to 10 guys that we really like…. That guy in Buffalo had a heck of a year… but he does have Josh Allen and all I know of his personality is he kind of lost his mind that one time.” would be absolutely crazy for an owner or GM to decide another year or two as OC could serve him well. I know, I know, insane that someone might possibly hold it as a strike against a really aggressive declaration of making the guy a HC after 1 year as OC
-
again, not the end of the world or a noteworthy disqualifier but it was a bit more than the McD gif, and if someone’s on the fence about him it may tip the scale slightly in the short term. I think most owners like some passion but also don’t like the idea of their HC on full tilt. He will be able to bury that memory if he performs well enough though

Sideline TEMPERATURE Dolphins v Vikings
NoSaint replied to DallasBillsFan1's topic in The Stadium Wall
for some reason folks forget this is a situation with employees at work. Conditions don’t have to be equal or ideal for all but there are still general safety considerations -
That meltdown clip wont help him either not the end of the world but plays poorly in that regard

tents are allowed if the home team opts to use them the home team created structural shade to leave the visitors baking. It’s a silly line in the sand -
has he been that clutch in the past? He’s had a few bad games this year and was benched this year sure, he had made some plays but he’s an nfl wr - he should make plays yea but that’s talking the difference between a Rousseau or basham and a von Miller. those rookies may get there but tyreek is an absolute star generational type of talent and you need those to win on the biggest stages consistently
-
I don’t disagree, and I’m not pushing huge chips in with getting him but do think some folks were getting carried away the opposite direction.
-
If treated as a one year rental, he’s actually cheaper than singletary. like the bills would save cap space this year to trade DS for CMC the price of that draft pick would hurt more though
-
im not staking my position with Chan. He had a decent game. But he missed that near tragic goal line block for Josh. He should’ve had that outside short yardage run too. he left more than one play out there.
-
let’s not get carried away the opposite direction It’s not dire to replace the guy but he certainly has room to be upgraded too. We can debate the costs but we aren’t a better group of 11 with DS instead of CMC

They definitely gave their players the chance to go out and win a big one today great to see and something this team needed to continue down the championship path

come on… takes a year or two as a backup or out of the league? Because he won’t you hope he fails? you’ve got to be trolling at that point -
Davonte Adams should be suspended a game

“Very common” and “rare but does happen” are not the same thing. I’d argue you chose the wrong version. -

bingo. Not every incident needs manufactured outrage. There’s no award for being the most morally pure and judgmental. dude messed up in a split second. No one was hurt. He very quickly apologized. Certainly not ideal but… -

yes, a 225 lbs player bowling into you on the sidelines comes with high risk of injury. A plethora of different injuries. And relatively likely to be injured. getting knocked down with a minor push could end in injury but that is relatively rare. By comparison to be bowled over at speed it would be incredibly rare. We can admit he’s a jerk without the theatrics of how dangerous it was.
