    A. it's not a black/white issue. There are multiple levels to the onions

    2) Gun violence is a specific problem in some communities not a national problem

iii. Any statistic is only 97.36% accurate on topical face.

Also, final post here. 12+ hours after the issue. The perps haven't been named, the national story will be dropped in a few days, this will be forgotten quickly because of the narrative being false.

     Appreciate your political perspective.

there is no political opinions that were there. it was a response based upon statistics. facts are not opinions. a majority of gun deaths are suicides. Less than 2% are accidental. Somewhere around 40% are homicides. Of those I would have to check again but a small number are considered mass casualty events (4+ deaths) on the standard metric. Stanford had lowered that to 3+, IIRC. Further, of the roughly 40% of homicides, at least half are obtained illegally. The ATF put out a very flawed and critiqued report when they offered the most recent data which put in untraceable firearms in the same category as stolen guns and "other deadly weapons of destruction." Further, less than 15% of the shooters in homicides showed no propensity towards violence or a criminal background. Bringing it back up to simply gun crimes/violence;  roughly 3/4 of those committing those infractions already possess arrest/criminal records.

Regardless, these are important factors. They're not political statements. Recidivism, treatment of crime and mental illness, as well as an examination of the causation of crime/violence are pertinent to the discussion.

There are some alarming numbers of gun violence % if you remove the 6 biggest cities in the country, those cities all posses some of the strictest gun laws in the country mind you.

people flock to believe anything that confirms their bias. someone mentioned it upthread i believe. you're more likely to be bit by a person in central park than by a shark in the ocean.

Do you have a point with all the data and stats you’re throwing out there???

Not sure about shootings but I remember the Bulls and Pistons had problems at their championship parades.  Destruction of property and fires.

When the Cuse won it in 2003, I remember heading over to Marshall St and there were riot police everywhere, since people’s idea of celebrating was climbing up light poles and setting things on fire.  At least no one was getting shot at in that area though, to my knowledge.

Is Elam going to be one of those guys in his last year of contract that breaks out?

If around, I’m hoping his breakout is in year three.

Here's the thing. I'm not Brandon Beane, Sean McDipshit or Terry Pegula. They can let him down easy when they cut his ass an wish him well. I'm a fan who wants to win. It seems like Tre is a wonderful young man. But guess what? He hasn't do ***** to help us win in a long time. So guess what? So long *****. See ya when you're back to "lead the charge!"

Lmao sounds like there’s a reason you’re not the boss

  6. I also think there’s a snowball effect for the Chiefs.  The fact that they’ve already won adds confidence to their ability to do it again, while taking some pressure off at the same time.  Since trading Tyreek, one could say they’ve been playing with house money, yet they keep winning.  Meanwhile, teams like the Bills tighten up in some of these clutch moments, because they want it SO bad and have a fear of failure in the back of their minds.  Even last night, it’s like even if Mahomes loses, he still has two SBs already, which takes pressure off of him to have to win another.  Which I think actually helps him non-chalantly lead his team to victory in OT.

Almost every game we play vs the chiefs is 50/50

The Patriots owned us for 20 years.....

This, plus for me, I find Reid/Mahomes way more likable than BB/Brady and all the other arrogant players from those Pats teams.  Yea Mahomes gets his share of calls and whines at times, but I generally find the Chiefs more down to earth than the Pats ever were.  And that’s without even mentioning the cheating scandals.

Isn’t that the wildest thing? The offense is undeniably worse without Tyreek but they still come away with back to back SBs… 🤯

Between their coaching staff (Reid and Spags) and players (Mahomes, Kelce, Jones, etc.), they know how to execute in big games.

I wish Josh had a defense that was as clutch as KC’s. Even in the years they were statistically middle of the pack KC’s defense always seemed to make plays at the right time, credit to Spagnuolo. The same can be said for Cincy’s defense and their architect Anarumo. What can we say about Buffalo’s…?

Prior to this year, Allen was thought to be the one QB of the three who had enjoyed a dominant defense for the majority of his career, since that’s how it read on paper. Any Bills fan could tell you that Josh has never had a dominate defense and to that point, watching how easy it was for KC to move the ball and score against Baltimore before their offense turtled up and took their foot off the gas, I’m not sure a dominant defense is a thing in the NFL anymore. It just needs to make clutch stops at certain, opportune times. If Josh had that, I’m sure he’d have at least one SB ring by this point.

Given track record, I’ve come to believe Spags is one of the great D coordinators over the past 20 years.  In a one game setting, he seems to be as good as anyone in scheming something up.  Aside from Mahomes and Kelce, he’s the other reason I like the Chiefs to beat the 49ers this weekend.  He’ll do something to make Brock Purdy’s life hell.

where was Allen on the OT punt return that won it for the jets……..

All of the losses were far from Allen’s fault, but the Jets game is the last one I’d try to make that argument.  He gave the game away in the second half, in primetime Week 1 against Zach Wilson.  That’s an embarrassing loss and Josh then fought the turnover narrative all season.  Game shouldn’t have gotten to OT.

If going 11-6 and not winning MVP is what it takes for Josh to not come out and give games away (a la NYJ week 1), I’m all for it.  The league is all about winning, not just making great plays.
