Josh is 28 next season. Very few people on that list past 32 or 33. Very few.  4-5 years left to get it done sort of adds a bit more urgency dontcha think?

If Josh doesn’t win one in the next 4-5 years, this board will likely have exploded by then.  So I agree with you, there is some urgency here.

100% you have to draft OL somewhere and keep developing. Love that they all played well but Dawkins is getting older and more expensive, Morse is probably on his last legs and who knows how long before Brown has a back problem again. I like Alec Anderson and Van Denmark a lot though

2 WRs at least in this LOADED wr draft class taking a page out of GBs book. But this time draft actual WRs not guys who look good in a t shirt and shorters (see what I did there)

D Jones will probably be back if Beane likes the numbers but I agree grab a big man in the draft too. Doesn’t have to be early

safety I think we can find value in free agency with a deep FA class looking for jobs and find another guy in the draft. Honestly this is not a concern of mine because even though I don’t like McD. He and the coaching staff do a great job developing defensive backs (outside of Elam so far lol)

What you’ve outlined sounds right here.  I really think they’re going to try and keep White, as long as he’s willing to restructure his deal.  An older CB coming off an Achilles injury, a couple years removed from an ACL injury, isn’t ideal for Tre’s outlook or market value.  That said, I’m keeping fingers crossed he can surprise and rejoin our CB ranks.  If that somehow does happen, maybe they look into moving one of the CBs like Benford over to FS.  I still would want to draft a young safety as well, but it’d be nice to have additional flexibility in our DB room.

  3. I’m actually curious to hear how Brady sees the field and action in real time.  For as much as he won with less athletic ability than most around him on the football field, he should have as good as grasp as anyone what’s happening on the field and be able to share that the audience (ie “if that were me, I’d have made sure the balls were deflated before the game”).

  4. Lamar will prob win it because of timing and the buzz that was surrounding the Ravens at the end of the season (when votes were cast).  But watching the Ravens game yesterday, no doubt in my mind Ravens would have won if Allen was their QB.  Unfortunately, I’m not sure the voters think so clearly on such matters.

  5. Will be watching.  Love everything about the Super Bowl event, plus it’s last chance to watch NFL until next year.  And I will probably pull for Mahomes, just because I’d prefer a world where he is thought of as the best (until Josh beats him in playoffs), versus a world where Brock Purdy is actually taken seriously.  Plus we can also say we almost took down the eventual SB winner.

Would you take Thad over Brady?  Do you give more credit to Thad than Brady?  So tell me your pick, Thad or Brady?  Those are your two choices and tell me why you are choosing one over the other.

Once I interview them both, I’ll let you know my decision.  Until then, I don’t know better than any other Joe Schmo on the street.  You apparently do though lol

I really hope you are joking.  See, here is the difference between you and me.  I'm not discounting him because he is a minority.  I'm discounting him because he has no OC experience.  We just went down that road with Dorsey and look how that turned out.  It's actually a disservice to Thad and somehow you can't see that and instead want to try to spin it into a feel good story.  I don't know what else to say to people like you.

If you don’t have OC experience, you know how you get some?  You interview for an OC gig, and fingers crossed, eventually convince someone you are qualified and get hired.  Assuming you’ve landed a job in life, hopefully your first employer saw more of your potential than you’re giving Thad credit for.

I also think it's disingenuous to minority candidates and a slap in the face to know you're only getting an interview based on the color of your skin.

Seems you’re the one discounting minority candidates’ resumes.  While it is true that the Rooney rule requires that a minority candidate be interviewed, even if Thad is the only minority candidate that the Bills interview for their open OC position, it is still a credit to Thad and his performance that he is getting the interview versus any other minority candidate.  And whether the Rooney rule exists or not, any interview is a chance for each candidate to make their case for why they would be the best candidate for the role and what they do with the offense which would be the differentiator versus the other candidates.  While Brady has a huge leg up on other candidates already, if Thad or whoever else really impresses the hiring powers, they could potentially land the job instead.  And worst case for Thad, he doesn’t get this job but is better prepped for future opportunities.

    Maybe?

2022 best in the NFL, 2023 very mediocre.

How much of Bass’ issues lie at the fault of Smiley?

None?  Smiley has been here for seven years, this being his 2nd season as the ST Coordinator (first five were as assistant).  Given the 2022 success, maybe he’s got some good will banked with McD.  If he was impacting Bass’ kicking issues, wouldn’t this have shown itself prior to this season?

Only disagreement is on that early WR pick. I think most on this board understand, and are even in favor, of a very heavy defensive draft given our needs on that side of the ball.

I also agree with going Safety->DT->DE. Heck, I'd say Safety->DT->DE->Safety->DB->DT.

    After our WR pick tho.

Preach, man.   You got this nailed too 💯.

Line the Bills and Ravens rosters up on paper and theyre pretty close.

The main difference is their future HoF coach who oversees the entire team, not just one unit, and keeps the entire team consistently ready to play.

That's why they have 13 (could have been 14 if they wanted) wins and we're squeezing out 11.

I’m skeptical of giving John Harbaugh too much credit though.  I didn’t realize it, but I saw he hasn’t been to an AFCCG since 2012?  Imagine the critics if McD fell short that many years in a row?

What it comes down to is simple:

Beat the Jets, Pats, and Broncos like you should have when you were 100% healthy (or close enough to it), and we have the #1 spot locked up and can rest guys week 18 AND get the Bye in week 19.

And our entire OL has been healthy all year.

Both trench units, arguably up there with QB as most important personnel, were pretty healthy.

Losing LBs in a league that has devalued the LB position shouldnt have affected us to the point of ruining our season. I know there were other injuries but we had enough guys to go.

You nailed it 👍…this team can’t be losing crap games next season

This is why it bothers me that we haven’t won the superbowl yet. It’s players like this that really deserve it that never get to taste it

That’s what stung in the 90’s too, man.  I still have visions of when we win one, all the guys will be there celebrating (Jim, Thurman, Bruce, Andre, even Marv)…

Would it make you feel better if he was yelling and pounding the table?  C’mon, they DID get eliminated- like 31 other teams.  The idea that it is win the Super Bowl else season is a total failure is talk-show induced bs.  Yeah, we wanted them to win. Fans of all 32 teams want their team to win.
