  1. Well, that's your call. Taking a full view of last year, including the massive dead cap we ate while starting a rookie "project" quarterback, I view the team's development and late season momentum/excitement as outperforming expectations. Let's agree to disagree.
  2. In this case, "quickly" refers to this season, with the extreme roster turnover. I have not kept track of the free agent numbers. But (putting my Captain Obvious hat on), our totally revamped offensive line and new receivers will need to come together, quickly. I see that as, along with JA's continuing development, the coaching staff's biggest challenge this year. As I said, McDermott's performance in the first two years bodes well. Regarding your view of McDermott as a plodder; - In year one, observers universally predicted a Bills tank. We made the playoffs. - In year two, the team was built on a fraction of the salary cap. Rather than collapsing with the resulting lack of talent, the team came together and improved throughout the year. The Bills' positive current and future state is a result of managing through those two years of pain. McDermott is not a plodder. He is a high quality NFL head coach and a true leader.
  3. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/top-10-head-coaches-in-nfl-bill-belichick-still-reigns-but-who-fills-out-the-rest-of-the-list/ I believe the Bills significantly out performed expectations in '17 & '18, due in no small part to McDermott's leadership and coaching. It seems that CBS agrees. With the current roster overhaul, McDermott is facing a huge challenge to put it all together, and quickly. From what I've seen to date, I am confident he will. 2019 is a real "Coach of the Year" opportunity in Bills Country.
  4. Regarding Bieber, any chance he's messing with us? He's going to get abused in the locker room.
  5. Exactly. And, on top of that, Morse is widely thought of as a very smart guy. Therefore, if he says it, I believe he means it.
  6. You made me laugh out loud AND my head hurt at the same time. Well done!
  7. Ha, thanks. Here's a phrase I'll bet we agree on - Go Bills! Have a great weekend!
  8. I don't know Bill, your "Serious question" quickly devolves into a defensive rant. Despite that, I'll give a brief, somewhat serious answer: - I did not critique a poster, merely his argumentative responses in this discussion. - I also did not critique this site (which I very much enjoy), merely the argumentative responses in this discussion - You are correct, I rarely post. When I do, it is usually supportive of the conversation at hand. That's just my personality. - Finally, I am sorry to read that BADOLBILZ may have forgotten a lot of football. I hope he gets his memory back. Does being from NYC, Bill, contribute to your effervescent style of communications?
  9. Fair enough. We all have our tastes. If BADOLBILZ had a point beyond just arguing, I too would enjoy the back and forth.
  10. Honestly Coach, I haven't found this to be "good discourse" at all. While JW is sharing his (quality) thoughts and information, BADOLBILZ has petulantly and pointlessly argued with every post, as if taking on a sportswriter is providing 15 minutes of fame. I look forward to what JW has to share and have had to tolerate BADOLBILZ' (I want ice cream!!!!!!) grade school level responses to read it.
  11. Bring back Fred Flinstone and Barney Rubble as Water Buffaloes on the video screen.
  12. Too funny. We simultaneously wrote the same thing, using different words. I approve of this message.
  13. I do not believe this is a "minor" point. I agree with you, emphatically. In a quality learning environment, self-critical thinking is imperative and accountability is a key to improvement. As much as I (we) like Allen, we all know he must learn and improve - quite a bit. He obviously has the physical tools. His willingness to admit and own his mistakes and growth opportunities are what will propel him to excellence as an NFL quarterback. It also is what will make him a credible leader in a locker room full of alpha males. In this way, I think he is remarkably like McDermott. Color me excited.
  14. Well stated Mr. Shaw. Drop the mic and drink the beer I have waiting for you. Fun times are upon us.
  15. This is a rediculous statement. While I am hoping form10-6, even if the Bills fall short, McDermott is on very solid ground.
  16. I feel silly for asking. But why do we wish Ill will on Rueben Foster?
  17. Or, you lack basic writing skills. Your comment read as very snide. Also, I didn't see anyone go crazy. So, maybe your reading comprehension is as much a growth opportunity as your writing. Let's begin with commas...
  18. That was a lot of work on your part. I completely enjoyed reading it. Thank you very much!
  19. I try to be a positive fan, being respectful of others. However, anything that embarrasses or harms the Jets makes me happy.
  20. It's too early to make any calls on Beane or McDermott. All they have done so far is take out the trash. Success will be defined by how they rebuild with all the resources currently at their disposal. Having said that, I think they cleaned out the team very well and am optimistic that, in two years, this speculation will prove itself o be true.
  21. I love the final paragraph of the article: "People can say what they want about Tyrod Taylor as a quarterback, but in terms of a human being, there is no argument. Taylor is a first-class guy through and through." Absolutely. And for that, I will always be proud and happy he quarterbacked my team.
  22. When Josh Allen was announced, with my hopes for Josh Rosen, I dropped an F bomb in front of my family. I never swear with that crowd. I am now a big Josh Allen fan and enjoy being teased by my family for being so wrong. I believe we Bills fans have an increasingly bright future.
  23. The easiest part about this decision is his leadership and team-first focus. If his play declines (a real possibility at his age), we know he will shift to a mentor role and continue to contribute. Bring this guy back until he proves he can't do it anymore.
