    “Ready to Go”

Brandon Beane said to everyone "2021 may have been the target year, but we're ready now."

Thank you, Shaw, for a great write up and providing a Sunday morning smile to Bills fans. I believe yesterday's roster decisions, and most significantly, the decision to keep Trent Murphy, is an exclamation point on your assessment. Our priority is winning - now, not saving money for next year.

Sundays became exciting as soon as Beane and McDermott joined the Bills. Next week, Sundays will become thrilling.

With some of the cuts already happening, I think two surprises I am going to list.

Trent Murphy - Sticks on the team, with the reports that AJ is struggling I think he end up sticking.  I really think they wanted to move on from him but I think that he sticks at this point.

Is this true? I try to pay close attention and haven't seen anything about AJ struggling.

So we’re seeing a lab under scrutiny for returning a huge chunk of false-positives because the Multibillion dollar industry was (presumably) able to re-test or relay on additional information to say “wait, we really don’t think these guys are positive”

Makes you wonder how many false positives are happening in the world at large that aren’t being caught.

I work for a biotech that is heavily involved in COVID test development and production. A problem (not the only one, but one) is tests being administered by unqualified people. That has led to false positives. Testing has to be conducted according to procedure, by qualified health professionals. Results have too many implications to not be taken seriously.

He's comparing Taylor to JA by numbers alone. Any of us Bills fans who have watched the both of them for an extended period of time know the differences that lie outside of just numbers. Like Tyrod being captain check-down which inflates his completion percentage. Josh takes more shots, looking for larger chunks of yardage than did Taylor. We know about Tyrod not being anywhere as close to clutch as has been Josh. Josh can simply make throws that Tyrod couldn't make if his life depended on it. Tyrod had more agility than Josh and made some crazy plays avoiding tackles, but Josh is 5" taller and about 35lbs heavier than Tyrod so he doesn't go down as easy when hit. I would also like to see the percentage of drops during Tyrod being at the helm versus Josh as well if we are going by numbers. Either way, a lot of what he says is true. There is a reason to be both optimistic and pessimistic because of the things Josh has done on the field at certain points. But if you look at his first year compared to his 2nd year, then you see a ton of growth and maturation. We made the right choice in going all in on Allen over sticking with Tyrod.

    This, completely,

We had a fully developed, check-down game manager

We now have a developing swashbuckler

Whether you like Josh or not (me like), any comparison to Tyrod is a fail.

There has been a feud going on in Buffalo about a certain player that Bills fans have had a love/hate relationship for ever since he played here, I have really never understood how so much hate could be heaped on a guy that was a winner where ever he went & was also a good leader in the locker room & on the field .

Well now thanks to Blain Bishop yesterday we have verification of what a lot of us have always known and this goes a long way for myself and probably a lot more Bills fans that have the same thoughts for this player but as usual the haters are going to hate but this isn't just your so called "Football Expert" telling us their thoughts on a player this is a players view of exactly what it was like to face this player that so many Bills fans love to hate .

On One Bills Live yesterday during the segment that they had Bishop on he goes into detail to explain 1 thing he thought that helped them win the game the day he is talking about the commentary i am talking about starts at 1:09.35 and when he was stating this fact i was like YES !! In your face haters this is a players view not a fan, not a "Expert" but one of the people that had to go against this guy take a listen .

I know the back lash will be like it always is here and this has been talked about many, many times here but this is just proof that what some of us believe as fans have always thought and i finally feel vindicated in what i have always known in my Bills fan heart to be true .

So as all you haters listen to this and cringe i will be loving every bad thing written because this is above and beyond any fans opinion of this past Bills great this is how he was looked at by his peers which holds a ton more weight than a fans fan like opinion ...

This may be the most poory written product I have seen in my life. Were you attempting to be incomprehensible? If so, congratulations.

This is a fun list, for not having a first rounder. If we go the "big nickel" direction, it will tell me that McDermott is committed to a top three defense. I believe in our brain trust enough to celebrate whichever direction they go.

EJ always seemed like a good and decent guy, just didnt work out as being a franchise QB. Wish him all the luck as a commentator.

This is what made our quarterback purgatory all the more painful. E.J., Fitz and Tyrod are all good guys that I was proud to have on our team and wanted to see succeed. Not being a winning NFL QB does not make someone "mentally weak" or a bad person, just not a winning NFL QB. As a die-hard Bills fan (like everyone here), it's been painful.

Josh, another seemingly good guy, please break the spell. I am rooting hard for you.

  8. I think SI hits it right on the head. I'm a huge fan of Josh Allen, liking everything I see, both physically and his intangibles. However, the fact is, until he takes control of the game, he hasn't yet taken control of a game. I'm hoping this is his breakthrough year. But it will be difficult for me to forget about that lateral attempt in the playoffs.

    https://www.si.com/nfl/2020/04/10/ranking-ever-team-quarterback-situation

Depth chart: Josh Allen, Matt Barkley, Davis Webb

"Josh Allen grew immensely last year and has the tools to make another leap in Year 3; the question is whether or not it will happen. I think some of the statistics behind Allen’s breakout season are concerning, though an upgraded weapon set and another year of experience for his offensive line may prove me wrong."

Does everyone now forget the last game he coached?  Buffalo was up 16-0 late in the third quarter only to lose 22-19.

He's also a career 3-17 against teams either in the playoffs or make the post-season.  He's gotta start beating the better teams more frequently.  And next season's schedule is sure to be more difficult than 2019's.

McD has a lot to improve on.

You know what? I'll accept this, despite its lack of big picture perspective.

What I like best about McDermott, and Beane for that matter, is their self-critical thinking and their drive for continuous improvement. I totally buy into the organization now and believe McDermott will (probably already has) look in the mirror, dig deep and grow. He challenges himself that way and encourages his players to grow that way. That is his way and now the Bills way.

He has a lot to improve on and he will. Super Bowl caliber.

I will say this, both Star Loutulelei(sp?) and Kelvin Benjamin were brought in for the very same reasons, and they haven't/did not work out.

I understand Beane getting benefit, but some of the decisions have not been the greatest, especially when it comes to ex-panthers.

So, now we're comparing Star's performance to Benjamin's. At the least I don't have to wait another 13 hours to see the worst post of the day.

  11. I think this whole scene is an attention-getting charade by Brady. There is not a top tier team in the NFL that will offer him a contract. Also, there is not a team that will become top tier by signing Brady. His skills are diminishing and he would have to learn a new offense with its personnel. New England is his best option for winning and I believe he knows that. Any place that has a QB opening runs a significant risk of tarnishing his legacy. I foresee a big Patriot group hug coming.

  12. :) Thank you for the thoughtful answer. I do respect the deeper considerations. However, I am also jaded by privileged athletes (I was one) never having consequences and feeling immune to accountability. That is pretty much where I sit here. If he learned right from wrong and accountability, he still would have struggled with his demons (we all do), but multiple murders, wow.

    No about the shoes....

Great doc though they all must be taken with a grain of salt.  My general thought is your past doesn’t excuse your present and future but it’s so interesting how a couple things can totally change your entire life.  His fiancée seems like the type of girl you should marry.  His HS qb taking about his dimples. ?. And I liked the semi pro guy who was friends with ODin.  And how did Brady not get in on some of that action???

just a sad story all around.  But hey, the Patriot Way!!!

Just our of curiosity, what type of shoes do you normally like?

I suspect there is a joke in here. But, I don't understand. What are you getting at? Answer: old, ratty sneakers.

  14. I watched the Netlfix series, while keeping up with this thread. I tried to consider the sympathetic points of view stated here and the "understanding" statements in the show. Hernandez murdered at will. He was nothing more than a consuming animal. The series was a boring, superficial, excuse-making waste of three hours of my life. He was given great gifts and used them to cause great harm. No excuses, no sympathy, and this is NOT must watch television.
