Got to see the game on dvr. Solid effort from both O and D. Josh played under control and didn't pass up short passes for hero ball. All in all, very good to see.

Josh isn't a rookie or 2nd year player. The fact he is still making these kind of mistakes his 6th year in the league strongly suggests he's never going to stop making them. It is a rare player indeed who shows "big improvements" 6 years in, particularly one who has been a starter his entire career. As frustrating as it may be, history suggests Josh may be the QB who make Buffalo very relevant for a number of years, but isn't the QB to lead them to the top, particularly with the crew around him (and the receiving corp is very average after Diggs).

Except it wasn't risks that he took, it was incredibly bad judgement to make those throws. I mean, yeah, it's risky to throw to someone clearly covered, but that's more being stupid than being a risk taker. Hard to see this season with a win unless it's game 17 and the Bills aren't making the playoffs.

All this really begs the question: why does an owner worth $6.7B need public financing for any of it? It's true, if he has to drop $2B he will only be worth $4.7B. My God, how would he be able to eat or buy other necessities of life? He'd be scrounging through trash cans looking for his next meal. I love the Bills, but with everything going on in sports these days (huge stadium projects for billions, conference realignment in college sports that's destroying traditions just for tv dollars, Saudis buying golf and other sports, Yankees spending millions to construct a crap team) it's getting harder and harder to give a rat's ass about the games being played.

This begs the question, would you rather be the Jets or the Bills? The Jets have won one Super Bowl, but otherwise have been essentially an afterthought in the NFL. The Bills going to the Super Bowl four years in a row, something no other team has accomplished, sure looks better to me even though they went 0-4 in the big game. And of course you can't forget the Bills had 2 AFL Championships, and I would have loved to see them play the Browns in '64 and the Packers in '65.

I agree on #1. Chargers baby blue/sky blue unis are the absolute best. As for the Bengals, their butt ugly helmets disqualify them from anywhere near the top. Being an old AFL guy, I prefer standing buffalo for the Bills, but I understand in modern times some might find it boring. I'd forgotten this was a logo used by the Bills at all: Kinda cool.

It was on a while back but I recorded it and just watched it Saturday. A couple of things: 1. The defense obviously was completely flummoxed in the first half, but man, as much credit as the offense got that was a top level defense. Smith, Bennett, Talley, Jones, Kelso, Odomes, Hansen et al. were a great unit. They shut the Oilers down in the 2nd half. The 90-93 Bills are underappreciated given their Super Bowl losses, but man, what a time to be a Bills' fan. 2. Every time I watch that game it reminds me of how awful it was that the Oilers left for Nashville and took their name and franchise history with them. I absolutely love the Oiler's helmets with the simple oil derrick. I suppose it's just the old fart in me because I hated seeing another symbol of the old AFL cast aside. I do think the league could have done the same thing with Houston that they did with the Browns, which is allow the city to keep the name and the franchise history, particularly since Houston was awarded a franchise not that long after the Oilers left.

Born in Buffalo and went to games in the early 60's. Family moved to AZ when I was a kid but I never have wavered in my love (and sometimes disgust, lol) for the Bills. Oddly enough I kinda liked the Cardinals when they were in St. Louis, but haven't cared for them at all since their move to Phoenix. I've stuck with all my teams (Bills, Yankees, and Celtics) that I loved as a kid. Haven't had any desire to adopt any other teams.

Exactly the same thing happened to Arizona in its first round loss to Princeton. I'm the common denominator, so obviously I'm the problem. My heartfelt apologies.

Good choice here would be Elbert "Golden Wheels" Dubenion in 1964. Only 42 catches in 14 games but a whopping 1139 yards and 10 TDs (out of a total of 19 TDs passes for all receivers) at a time when passing wasn't anywhere near as prevalent as now. Big part of the Bills' first championship.

Officiating has ALWAYS been questionable - or at least questioned. Not only are there humans involved, who are prone to mistakes, but fans of losing teams just love to blame losses on officials. If it get raised more now it's really just a factor of more cameras and camera angles that expose the problem calls.

No sure why, but I just find that QB sneak play annoying as hell. It'll be all the rage until some QB gets bent in half and is paralyzed.

As a Bills' fan I simply didn't care about the call or particularly about the outcome, although I am marginally happy the Chiefs won only because they're AFC. I was also very unimpressed with Fox's announcers. They weren't annoying to me, just very "meh". Every year that goes by without the Bills returning to the Super Bowl makes me care that much less about the game. About all I can say for this year is it afforded us the opportunity to have daughter, son-in-law and grandkids over to watch the game.

This. I won't judge someone in setting their priorities when it comes to spending money, but there isn't an sporting/entertainment event of any sort that in my mind is worth $1,000 let alone $6,500. I went to one of Arizona's Final Four appearances, but because of connections for the ticket (only had to pay face value) I was able to get by well under $1,000 including ticket, hotel and airfare. These days it would be at least $2,500 and I'd have to say no. But that's just me. If someone gets $6,500 worth of happiness out of going to a football game, more power to them.

Reed disappeared? Really? He caught a total of 27 passes for 323 yards in the 4 SB games (8-62 in 90, 5-34 in 91, 8-152 in 92 and 6-75 in 93). Could he have done better, I suppose, but those aren't disappearance numbers by any measure and they came against Super Bowl caliber teams. Meanwhile Diggs is 0 for 0 yards in SB appearances, and as a Bill his stats in 7 playoff games against only one team that made a Super Bowl are 37 receptions for 527. Diggs has a couple more yards per catch but otherwise he has fewer receptions and yards per game. I think Andre did just fine in Super Bowls.

It's very curious, but many of those disparaging Singletary are also severe critics of the OL. Seems to me that someone who puts up the numbers DS did behind an atrocious OL might actually be pretty good, and conversely, backs that put up better numbers on other teams probably would put up much worse numbers if they had to play in Buffalo with its offensive schemes and lousy OL. I like DS and if the number is right I'd resign him.

Road schedule is very tough. 4-4 is a very real possibility and may a tad optimistic (almost certainly worse if the Jets and/or Dolphins actually get a legit QB). 8-1 at home would be doable if a bit optimistic. 12-5 gets them maybe the 3 seed, which almost certainly means only one home playoff game. If Allen gets hurt all goes out the window, if OL and DL aren't much improved team could seriously regress. Even with its win streak at the end of the regular season the team looks less than stellar so significant improvement is needed to get the AFC Championship or SB.

Perhaps they needed to wear different cleats." Bad D-Line and perhaps lack of preparation for the conditions. I would love to have him, but you’ve got to go through some lean years to do that.” Beane will probably regret making those remarks. KC isn't on the advantage of a rookie QB contract, and yet they continue to advance further than the Bills year after year.

Exactly. Unfortunately, while past performance doesn't guarantee future results applies to investments, it is a pretty good indication of a sport franchise's front office, and the Bills' recent draft history doesn't give me warm and fuzzies.
