  1. Bills gave them an extra #1 for Drew.

since that time they have continued to trade one of their extra first rounder for a higher in the next draft.

they typically don't draft 2 1st rounders in the same year. Last year they lost the extra pick due to cheating.

It would be fitting for the Bills to get them back on track with an extra 1st rounder.

-- Except it will be Brady who they trade and who will never play at a high level again for the Bills.

Bills traded their #1, not an extra. After the trade the Bills had no #1 in 2003. Before the 2003 draft the Bills traded Peerless Price to Atlanta for their #1 so they ended up with a #1 but at the time of the trade the pick was not an "extra" #1

  2. I've been a loyal Bills fan since the mid 60's (yes, I'm old). I've been on this and other boards almost non-stop over the past few days, and I strongly believe that, this time, Ralph has done something that would have previously been considered nearly impossible: He has finally, and abruptly, crushed the bond that many had w/ this team. I know this sounds overly dramatic, but this almost unbelievable thumbing of his nose at his long suffering fans has produced a desperate resignation that many of us thought impossible. To have this tin-eared owner not only tell us all that mediocrity is OK, but that "it wasn't a hard decision for him AT ALL", is so galling and arrogant that I really believe he has broken the trust, or the ever important HOPE, that we fans needed to keep on pouring our emotions into this operation. I liken it to a long time relationship that you knew was dysfunctional, but you tolerated the other person b/c there was more good than bad. Well, Ralph just kicked that relationship in the stomach, and many are now realizing, with stunning clarity and sadness, that there is now more bad than good. Most of us will remain fans, but from a distance, and w/ out the passion that used to make it fun/hard/painful/rewarding. Ralph has turned on his heel and walked out the door on his adoring Bills fan base...

Well said, this pretty much sums it up

  3. 2006 Donte Whitner = ?

    2006 McCargo = Bust

2004 JP Losman = Bust (has any Bill turned the ball over more than JP (51 turnovers) during the time that they have appeared on the field?)

2003 McGahee = Bust (traded away when problems arose)

    2002 Mike Williams = Bust

    2000 Erik Flowers = Bust

Five first round busts in 8 years might have something to do with no playoffs during that time (and current 7-9 year after year)...but hopefully the Bills can build upon their selections of Lynch and McKelvin the last two years and get to .500 again...

Equally absymal are the busts and mediocre 2nd round picks

    2000 Traveres Tillman - bust

    01 - Schoebel/Henry - above average value here

02 - Reed / Denney- neither a bust but had hoped for more from both

03 - Kelsay - had hoped for more

04 - gave up the pick for JP

05 - Roscoe - had hoped for more

06 - gave up the pick for Mcargo

book still out on Pos and Hardy, 07 and 08 picks though can pobaly again say had hoped for more from both at this stage

  4. I like him, and I didn't want him to leave. I think he's a good player. I therefore felt pretty bad for him, although I realize that every CB has a miserable game every once in a while. But today, my God.

I don't feel bad for anyone who makes his kind of money, he doesn't care I'm out over 100K in my 401K this year

  5. Ok what about the other experts outside of kiper?

What was Jaws saying about losman?

Not reading through three pages of reply's so apologies if this has been posted, Jaws thought he would have a better career that the 3 qb's that went ahead of him (manning, roth'berger, rivers)...said he played behind the worst offensive line ever assembled in college

  6. Take it easy, people shoot deer every day during hunting season just for the sake of shooting them.

It is not out of the ordinary for 'hunters' to shoot deer and leave them in the fields. And no one is sentencing them to sodomy.

Actually I know a lot of people that hunt deer and none of them do this so it is out of the ordinary

  7. Ralph had a chance to move into a division with Cinci, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh back in the 90's when the divisions realigned. He was against anything that didn't keep the Miami rivalry in tact. Your point is valid, roster based rivalries can't last forever (eg kelly vs marino), geographic rivalries can (eg Michigan/Ohio St, Duke Unc in B-ball, etc). Ralph missed the boat on that one.

  8. That is my best guesstimate for when people will stop blaming Trent's horrific play on his concussion. "He looks tentative....he holds the ball too long.....he arm is even weaker than usual".....Newsflash: He Sucks.

And no this post is not intended to say JP is better. That is meaningless. Trent is horrible.

Name 5 starters in the NFL that are worse than Trent Edwards. I come up with O'Sullivan, Whoever is playing for the Lions, and Thigpen. Got 2 more?

    Manning brothers...btw you're and idiot

  9. .............the best draft pick the Bills have made in 10 years. Agreed, given the train reck at QB the last 10 years there is not one player in the NFL I would trade TE for...not saying he is the best qb in the league right now but he is up there, Brady's injury is serious, Manning is getting old, etc. etc.

Lynch blows. He is definately one of our worse picks. Think you're a little over critical on him

  10. No one. We had traded away our first for Biscuit in the three way trade with Indy and the Rams.

Yongsters don't know anything. Thurman played the tape from ESPN of him being passed over by every other team as motivation for years.

As I said a few posts back...Cornellius Bennet in 1987 (traded 88 first, 89 first and second, Gregg Bell)...so bisquit was our 88 first as well as our 89 first and second round pick, we just got him in 87. One of our wiser picks!

My turn, what other 2 first rounders from the 83 draft found their ways to the Bills roster in the early 90's (hint, both defense)

  11. That's a good one. Especially because he's a tight end. I'm more partial to the trivia question:

The Bills selected Thurman Thomas in the second round in the 1988 Draft. Who did they select in the First?

    be

Cornellius Bennet in 1987 (traded 88 first, 89 first and second, Gregg Bell)
