  1. Just look at the cuts that were made this year - A lot of now-former Bills lost out to new acquisitions. That means improvements were made.

OT depth is shaky, and MLB is not fully solved yet, but said MLB will be working next to Matt Milano, as well as between a very stout D line and a very experienced secondary. Beane is smart in that he makes sure the marquee positions are always taken care of - QB, LT, CB1, Edge.

So no glaring holes, but maybe you should jump anyway, if that's going to be your attitude. Yeah, they could go 8-9, but they will be fun to watch either way.

  2. Barkley has two things going for him - He's cool-headed, and he has great timing on his throws (to make up for his lack of a cannon). I don't think K. Allen has anything going for him, except that he is probably the better runner. Barkley's style is nothing like JA's, but Kyle isn't good enough to be on an NFL field.

Basically, the Bills live and die with Josh Allen. But if someone has to come in and hold it together for three games, I'm going with Barkley.

  3. That's cool! I work in the vegetable business and have met a few folks in my travels to CA who know the Allens, and always speak highly of the family. Personally, I think they may be late to the party with pistachios - everyone's growing them now, there seems to be a glut on the market, and the prices are diving. But I hope it works out for them! And I hope they have reliable access to water. It's scary talking to growers out there. They just keep drilling deeper and deeper.

I second that. I love me some Barry Sanders and Adrian Peterson toting the rock, but to pair with Josh, I would want nothing less than best receiving back ever.

My second choice is Thurman (homer pick but justifiable), third is LT.

My extreme homer pick is Fred Jackson.

  5. I'm going with a soft 'no', because there were still a lot of great players on the board, and this was something of a luxury pick. Don't get me wrong, I like the player a lot, but he will have to make a pretty big impact for this to be a square deal. As with all draft picks, we don't know if that will pan out.

  6. I don't get it. How is anyone 'tipping' the picks? The draft is broadcast widely on national TV and there are dozens of options to follow along online and on the radio. And nobody outside the teams themselves knows the picks before they happen. We're all just sitting there waiting for picks to come - what difference does it make if I find out 5 seconds before my TV tells me? And who cares if you saw Roger Goodell do it or if it came in the Shoutbox? And if you don't have TV or internet service, then you gotta find out what the picks are somehow - might as well be here. And when is it OK to name a pick? Does one wait 5 minutes out of courtesy? I can't believe the things people get bent out of shape over!
