The funny thing about Gabe Davis is that his hands were amazing early in his career. I remember this vividly, and I was very surprised when he started dropping balls on the regular. I still feel that he has the potential to be a sure catcher, but he's got to prove he can still do it.

He has to be better than Elijah Moore and Tyrell Shavers. Right?
-
They probably want to cut Moore. Myers would be an upgrade there, but what is it really worth?

I almost hit him with my car as a teenager downtown before LOL true story. Night before a season opener, near all the bars (I wasnt there for that), kept creeping up in my car as the white line was behind these 2 buildings... parked cars on side of road and busy traffic, very tricky to see, busy traffic. I krpt creeping up and was tunnel visioned on an opening.
Getting ready to hit the gas and outta the corner of my eye I see something. Stomp the brake! A VERY ANNOYED FAMILIAR LOOKING FACE CROSSES IN FRONT HAHA
I yelled, "I ALMOST HIT THE 'PRISON BREAK GUY!'"
MY BAD WILLIAM! I'M NOW MUCH MORE AWARE WHEN CREEPING FORWARD IN THOSE SCENARIOS
Funny, I almost collided with Mr. Fichtner at the airport in Cabo San Lucas several years ago. I was maneuvering through a crowded food court and suddenly found myself face to face with the battered husband from Drowning Mona. We darn near smashed our foreheads together.
Watch where you're going, Fichtner!

I loved him in Drowning Mona. One of my favorite "movies that time forgot".

There's probably something wrong with him in the character department. Why the heck would the Jags trade away a first round pick halfway through his second season, when he had an outstanding rookie year, they have a young QB in need of weapons, and they are in the playoff hunt?

That is when they are 100% healthy, which never happens, and it still not that great of a lineup. The DL rotation looks solid, but not spectacular, and it's by far the best unit. And who knows how well the three "new guys" are actually going to play.
Of course they "could be good", but odds are they won't be much better than they already are.

Well, it can't be much worse than what's on the field today.
I think they were extremely conservative with his recovery, and probably planned to keep him out through the bye week regardless of how ready he was. I am confident that his knee is doing well, that he has learned the playbook inside and out, and that he has watched months worth of tape. He's a smart kid and I think he'll be OK within a couple of games.
Welcome back, Max!

I wish the Bills had the CB depth to try Tre at Safety. I know he's "too small", but I'm pretty sure he can learn the job if he doesn't already know it by heart. He also seems to be tackling harder than ever. Could he be any worse than Bishop?
That said, I don't think he's been that bad at CB.

You mean, the Hate Buffalo rally?

Yes, Beane calls in the picks, but it's hard for me to believe he does so in a vacuum, or that he would consistently go against his management/coaching team's consensus to make questionable picks. I think he's smart enough to know that's not where you micromanage.
But it is his management/coaching team, and if they are collectively so ineffective at picking impact players in the early rounds, then maybe it is time for him to go. It's too bad, because I think he's a top-notch GM who has made a lot of bold and beneficial moves over the years. He just doesn't have the right team advising him on players and scouting.

It should be Cook, but I have also been wondering what happened to sending Ty Johnson down the field to catch some balls, regardless of the down. That was really effective at times last year.

I wish Daboll had become HC. He grew up in Buffalo and really thought he would stay as OC having Allen as his main guy. The offense hasn’t been the same since he left.
It's too bad the emergence of Dart has probably secured Daboll's job in NY for another year. For a while there, it was looking like he might be available come December.

Edmunds was a guy who could make a legitimate impact while seemingly do nothing special. On balance, he was probably a better player to have at that position than Bernard. But he was way too expensive for what he did. I get why they moved on, but yeah it would be nice to have him in the mix.

I didn't realize Leonard Floyd was a Falcon. I miss that guy! It's a shame he only got to play one season here. Injury report indicates he's been getting plenty of Vet rest. He's probably going to be a pain tonight.

It was a bad Sunday for the Bills. Virtually every important outcome did not go their way. I can't handle going into the bye in 2nd place in the division!
LETS GO BUFF A LO!

I don't think he plays until the cupboard is completely bare, and even then I think they might sooner sign or trade for someone else. I just don't think either party signed with the intent of him ever playing.
That said, if I'm wrong and he's ready and willing, I wouldn't mind giving it a shot!

Bye week can't come soon enough. Hopefully they can bag enough wins to rest starters in week 18, too. It's going to be a long season.

Whoa now, Rasul was a really good player for a while. That was a great move at the time - he made an impact right away.
-
If they just keep doing what they're doing, they will end up with ~13 wins and Josh Allen. I'm not panicking.

Bills are fortunate to have their bye week just ahead of the deadline. I'm not expecting much of anything, but there are certainly needs and maybe an overfortified position or two.
-
Still not a lot of lateral movement going on there. Just the teeniest bit more than his first practice. They are really playing it safe, and it's probably going to be a while yet.
-
Beane is as good a GM as we could hope for. McD has his flaws, but Andy Reid is the only guy I would expect to have a better chance of winning the SB. I think hiring anyone else is just rolling the dice. And Andy Reid ain't available.
