  1. Bill Walton was an American treasure. NBA games were infinitely more entertaining when he was on the microphone - His wit and wisdom, his depth of character, his infectious spirit - There is, was, and never will be anyone like him in broadcasting. I was just a little too young to have watched him play, but I know his game was at times transcendent.

Thank you, Bill, for all the great basketball memories. You will be missed. Throw it DOWN, Big Man!

  2. A lot of proven vets don't got to OTAs. It's pretty much an unwritten privilege for the higher-mileage guys if they want to skip out, especially the guys who prove they can do it year after year. I'd say Diggs has earned the right to skip, and there's nothing to see here.

  3. 5 hours ago, Ethan in Cleveland said:

Allow coaches challenge via instant replay for everything. The game is too fast for the refs on the field. One bad holding call or roughing the passer call can change the outcome of the game. Everything should be reviewed.

They tried it with pass interference but the NFL killed it by not overturning calls that should have been overturned.  The NFL would need to commit to getting the call correct or use a third party to review all challenges.

Games would take nine hours. I would much rather they did away with challenges altogether, and just let bad calls become part of the game again.

If Tua stays, the Dolphins can still be a decent team. He manages to keep them in the hunt, even if he can't beat the Bills without 130 degree temperatures on the Buffalo sideline. He's not a bad quarterback on the whole, though he does carry major concussion concerns in his luggage.

If Tua goes, the Fins flat-out stink for a while. Even if they have already start planning for their future QB, they have nothing in the cupboard and probably not a high draft pick next year.

    Ah, Schadenfreude.

  5. It just seems like there are A LOT of very uncertain things that need to work out favorably in order for this to be a successful season. Things that appear to be less than 50% that they will work out favorably. I'd say there is a 20% chance of playoffs this season.

  6. That's a spectacular highlight reel for one season at UK! He seems to have great vision, making guys miss before they even get near him, a la Marshall Faulk. And I like how he finds a hole and then hits the jets - no dinking and doinking, just get north and go.

I'm cool with whatever at this point. Good luck and welcome to the Bills, Ray.

  7. The Bills FO had 20 hours on the clock to consider every other possible option and field every trade offer, and they stood pat so that they could pick Keon Coleman. They took him when a lot of very good prospects were still available. That all says a LOT to me about what they think of him.

I really don't know squat about football, so I don't have a valid opinion on how Keon Coleman will develop. But as a fan, I'm really excited to see if he can be what Beane and co. think he can be.

  8. It's interesting to think about a short-range air attack with the Samuels' Deebo and Curtis (Curbo Samuels?), Kincaid, Knox, and Cook creating endless easy options to move the chains, and all with the ability to break one open once in a while.

But it also seems like overkill. They really need the downfield action a lot more.
