RBs really get hosed by the rookie contract rules. They should be free to make mad loot by year 3 so they don't end up doing stuff like this. So many good ones end up out of the league before they can cash in.

Dang, inflation hits everywhere these days!

He might be able to land a HC position at a decent college program, but not a powerhouse school, nor an NFL team. Over age 60, the only guys who get hired for those gigs are the ones with long track records of success at HC - Andy Reid, Pete Carroll, etc. But you never know, he certainly has the credentials.

I'm sure Beane already knows what he has to do to make this happen, if he in fact wants to make it happen. But there are a lot of other suitors in the mix.

There are far more examples of players who should NOT be in the HOF, but are; than there are examples of players who should be, but aren't.

Don't worry, Cleveland will sign him to a long term deal for $50M guaranteed.

I second that. I love me some Barry Sanders and Adrian Peterson toting the rock, but to pair with Josh, I would want nothing less than best receiving back ever.
My second choice is Thurman (homer pick but justifiable), third is LT.
My extreme homer pick is Fred Jackson.

The Bills had late picks and managed to get two of the very best players at their respective positions. Not too shabby!

Still can't believe they got this guy at 59! I would have been happy with him at 27, to be honest. This definitely takes the sting out of trading away that 4th.

Wrong DeAndre.

ST is gonna be stacked this year.

I'm going with a soft 'no', because there were still a lot of great players on the board, and this was something of a luxury pick. Don't get me wrong, I like the player a lot, but he will have to make a pretty big impact for this to be a square deal. As with all draft picks, we don't know if that will pan out.

I don't get it. How is anyone 'tipping' the picks? The draft is broadcast widely on national TV and there are dozens of options to follow along online and on the radio. And nobody outside the teams themselves knows the picks before they happen. We're all just sitting there waiting for picks to come - what difference does it make if I find out 5 seconds before my TV tells me? And who cares if you saw Roger Goodell do it or if it came in the Shoutbox? And if you don't have TV or internet service, then you gotta find out what the picks are somehow - might as well be here. And when is it OK to name a pick? Does one wait 5 minutes out of courtesy? I can't believe the things people get bent out of shape over!

I wanted Torrence. I don't actually know that much about him, but conceptually I think Josh needs interior protection more than he needs another TE to throw to. If Torrence really was the best G in the draft, then I think it would have been nice to have taken him.

Probably won't be awake much after the top 10. Will likely find out who the Bills drafted when I get up to whizz at 3.

Don't forget TinkerBell.
Wasn't Steve Christie more or less known as Bigfoot? Or did I just make that up?

He sure looks fast, but he had some gaping holes to exploit in a lot of those highlights. I don't think he gets past the line of scrimmage very often against NFL defenses. I would be more interested to learn more about his teammates on the O-line!

First, it would depend on just how far we’re moving down. I don’t wanna move down to like the middle of the second round.
Second, it would be what we were being compensated for to do the move
Based on DraftTek trade values, Buffalo would expect to gain a mid 3rd to a high 4th, assuming they also get their trade partner's next pick after 27. That's also assuming it follows the most common draft day trade-up recipe. But it could be more if some other team has a guy they really want at 27.

Beane is definitely not afraid to trade up if that's what looks best.

I remember the one time McDermott took the play calling during half-time and it showed a different team...I hope we get the same....The main issue is that this team is dependent on generating pass rush by its front-four - Groot, Basham, Epenesa and Oliver. This group has been vastly underwhelming.
There will also be a guy named Miller back on the front four this year, FWIW.

With Beane and Company, it seems like just about every option is always on the table. They certainly don't always do what we expect they will do. I think they are very good at preparing options for all kinds of scenarios, and they are willing to commit to the decisions that come from that prep.
If, when the time comes, they feel like they are in a better spot by trading down, then I'm sure that's what they'll do.

This is great news. Great player and fan favorite for a very reasonable price.

Crazy, he didn't want to move across the country to play for a team with no plan at DC.

That's cool! I work in the vegetable business and have met a few folks in my travels to CA who know the Allens, and always speak highly of the family. Personally, I think they may be late to the party with pistachios - everyone's growing them now, there seems to be a glut on the market, and the prices are diving. But I hope it works out for them! And I hope they have reliable access to water. It's scary talking to growers out there. They just keep drilling deeper and deeper.
