  1. I would ask him what he considers to be his greatest strengths as a player, the things that he does best. Follow that up with what things do you need to improve upon in order to succeed at the next level.
  2. Officials miss calls all day long. Sometimes they are on critical plays, sometimes they are not. It is part of the human element of refereeing a game. Pittsburgh got plenty of calls that went their way. They had ample opportunity to win this game. They didn't, plain and simple.
  3. We got creamed by NE as well. The fact is that when Buffalo had any kind of pressure on them to win a game, they failed to show up. Hell even in the last one in NE, when there was no pressure at all to win, they completely collapsed in the second half. This team lost 7 straight games. Many of those games were winnable if the team had been able to get their act together and decide that they wanted to win. They didn't. One thing Denver has shown is an ability to bounce back and win close games. Buffalo seemed to have this ability early on, but even in the first half, they lost close games to Cincinatti and the Giants. Both of those games could have been wins if Buffalo had the heart that Denver has shown. They don't. They still have a loser's mentality and I believe they expect to lose when they play good teams. Therein lies the difference.
  4. Clearly the Broncos are the better team. They won more games and although they lost the head to head matchup in Buffalo, they are on to the second round of the playoffs. I can't even remember the last time the Bills got that far.
  5. Mort is an idiot. He has zero credibility.
  6. "if the team went 11-5 it wouldn't even be a discussion." Right there is the flaw in your thinking my friend. The fact is that they did not go 11-5, they went 6-10. Chan Gailey was a big reason they didn't go 11-5. His failure to adjust to what defenses were doing cost this team dearly during that 7 game losing streak. Many of those games were winnable games and he was unable to make the necessary adjustments and get his team over the hump in close winnable games. That is the mark of a bad coach. I was a big Gailey fan as well until the team completely fell apart during the second half of the season. Yes there were key injuries, but many of the problems were directly on his shoulders. He was out coached by opposing DC's in those games and that is why they lost. There are other contributing factors for sure, such as Fitz's poor play, but much of that can be attributed to Gailey's play calling as well.
  7. As soon as they made the announcement that he was DC, I knew this thread was coming. Absolute nonsense.
  8. Couldn't agree more. It's disappointing when we lose, but nothing beats the game day experience at the Ralph.
  9. His antics hurt the team. If you don't understand that, then there is nothing to discuss. Anyone with a lick of sense knows that Stevie was out of line and deserved to be disciplined. He has done this twice before and been warned. Three strikes and you're out. Benching Stevie Johnson had absolutely nothing to do with why this team lost the game. Once NE started to come back on them, they folded just like they always do when they feel the least bit of pressure. They could have had 10 Stevie Johnsons on the field and they still would have lost. Kudos to Chan Gailey for sending a message that this kind of selfish behavior has no place on a team.
  10. His ANTICS cost the team 20 yards in field position. He was hurting the team. Talent schmalent. His ANTICS are dumb.
  11. Are you kidding me with that call? It wasn't late. He certainly didn't drive him into the ground. That was absolutely ridiculous.
  12. Well, so much for the upset. Can't say I didn't see this coming.
  13. When will SJ grow up? How many times does this have to happen before he figures out that you just can't do that. Once again, he ruins the momentum by making the Bills D start with bad field position.
  14. Gotta disagree. When opposing DC's figured out what the Bills were doing and began to game plan for it, Gailey never adjusted. He just kept calling the same plays that weren't working. Good coaches make adjustments. Failing to run the ball more when all the WR's started getting hurt exposed Gailey's flaws as a play caller. When a team loses 7 straight games in this league and at least 4 of them are winnable games, that is the mark of bad coaching.
  15. You are right, Bill Maher has every right to his opinions on religion and God. I don't however, find him the least bit funny. I think he is a hateful, God bashing idiot. That is my opinion. I respect his right to express his views. I just don't have to give them any credence. I don't recall much of a backlash when one of the greatest athletes of all time praised Allah at every opportunity. That man was Muhammad Ali and millions of fans loved him regardless of what religion he was affiliated with. I think Christians in America are very tolerant of all religions and that is one of the basic ideas that the founding fathers fought for. Freedom of religion is one of the cornerstones of American values. It is extremism that is the problem, not religion. Anyone who says that others have to die because they practice a different religion, does not understand what their own religion is all about. Tebow has every right to wear his beliefs on his sleeve. It shows that he truly is a man of faith, who is not afraid of the backlash.
  16. Don't take it personally. I put up a post last week with my thoughts about how ironic it was that the Bills won a game after the pressure was off and they were assured of a losing season. I got hammered too. If you really are a Bills fan, you understand that at this point, next year's draft position is pretty important to building a winning team. I, just like you, always root for the Bills to win. A couple of wins when it really mattered would have been nice though.
  17. I think Levitre had a Pro Bowl calibre season. I also think that George Wilson is a beast and that Dareus could have been selected. Having said that, I agree with those that say that winning will take care of these issues. Losing teams routinely have their players left off of Pro Bowl rosters. I am not surprised that the Bills didn't have anyone selected.
  18. I agree with your assessment 100%. During the losing streak, Chan failed to adjust once defensive coordinators figured out what he was doing. I also agree that he doesn't utilize his players according to their strengths. The mark of good coaching is getting the most out of the players you have, not trying to make them conform to your system. Particularly when it becomes obvious that your system is not working.
  19. Funny how a few weeks can change your perspective. I agree with those that say that Chan has not adjusted his play calling as defenses caught on to what the Bills were doing early in the year. As long as Fitz is the QB and Gailey is calling the plays, I can't say that I feel they are headed in the right direction. I felt otherwise earlier in the year, but it is a long season and I believe they both have been exposed. Where we go from here is anyone's guess, but what we have now on both sides of the ball and on the coaching staff is just not good enough.
  20. Don't forget about Dareus.
  21. Gotta disagree with you bro. This win did nothing to change the losing culture. I agree that you play to win. I wouldn't expect them to try and lose. Again, it is the timing of the win, that troubles me. I would have been much happier with a win against the Giants, Jets, Miami or Dallas, when it actually would have meant something for this year. I always want them to win, it's just very frustrating that they win now when it means nothing and can't manage to win games that would actually do something to help change that losing culture.
  22. I think we can agree that it's better to win than lose. I just got a chuckle about the timing of the win. I enjoyed all of the things that you mentioned as well. My point is that it sure would have been nice to see those things a bit earlier in the year when it counted.
  23. Couldn't agree more. Very solid post. I have the exact same opinion of all the players you mentioned. I think with another solid draft, this team could finally be headed in the right direction. They will have to find ways to win the close games though. There were at least four losses this year that were winnable games. In a season where you have lost 9 games, those four would have made a huge difference.
  24. If your read my post, I said that I know they have to try and win every week. My point was that it is laughable that they lose every game that means anything and now, when a loss would be a better outcome, that's when they finally win a game. I just find it ironic, that's all. Wow! That's all I can say. I have watched every game for over 50 years and root for the Bills to win every week. I just find it ironic that they lose every game that has the least bit of pressure, then win when it actually would benefit them to lose. You can call me whatever names you want, but I stand by my post. That doesn't make me less of a fan, just one with a sense of irony. Actually yes I can. I am a huge Bills fan. It just doesn't mean anything to win now. It actually hurts them. It would have meant something if they actually could have won a game earlier in the season when they needed to win. Winning now means nothing except that they don't get as good a player in the draft. I know, I know. That was pretty funny. I said in my post that I know they have to try and win every week. I just find it very ironic that they finally win a game when it actually would benefit them to lose. I expected to get hammered on this board for saying it, but that's okay. The win made me laugh.
