Even if Modrak really wanted Cushing and wanted Cutler , it still doesn't change my opinion of him. Cushing's a a cheater and Cutler is probably the most overrated QB in the league. If Modrak came out and said he wanted to draft Oher or Orakpo , then ok , maybe.

Your absolutely right. However , the reason why Dick Jauron is no longer our HC is because he failed to recognize our ineptitude at QB and put Fitz in.

To be honest , I've been rooting for the Vikings and more so Favre all year. It would be great to see a legend come and win it all. I love the underdogs.

Maybe so , but IMO , Edwards is just not a game time QB. Edwards lit it up in practice throughout training camp , but when it mattered the most , when he was supposedly fighting for his NFL future , he couldn't perform. Edwards had all the necessary tools required for a QB to succeed except two of the most important and perhaps underrated qualities which are confidence and pocket awareness. BTW , I will never mention Trent Edwards on this board again , ever.

Articles like that give me a whole lotta hope. I just hope my beloved Bills don't let me down for the 567,000 time and lay an egg against the Chiefs.

Mike Williams deserves that dubious distinction. With his size and potential he could of been THE all time best left tackle. Another glaring reason as to why the NFL needs a rookie salary cap.

If he won at least 1 Superbowl , he's on the list.

This year is not about winning obviously. Its about evaluating our talent , see who steps up , and see what we need to improve upon this off season. Our defense is why we cannot win football games. If Fitz continues to put up numbers like he has so far this year , he's the guy regardless of his W-L record. It would be very difficult for ANY qb to have a winning season with our defense , so you really can't judge Fitz on the number of wins he has , but rather , if he is putting our team in the best position possible to win a game week in and week out.

Even though we're winless , Im starting to get pretty excited about sundays game. Not to see if we win or lose , but im more intrigued to see if Fitz keeps up his play. Anways , my prediction is: Bills 31 Chiefs 24 Fitz continues his all pro play by throwing a set of TDs and going over the 300 mark again and the defense plays surprisingly well , netting a couple turnovers at key times but the Chiefs running game runs wild.

Well , what can you say? Until they prove to us that they are for real and have turned a corner , then they remain the same old bills in my eyes. But that performance last week by our offense is too much to brush off.

I agree , but one has to wonder if Sanders and Edwards coaching abilities , or lack thereof , have something to do with his unimproved play.

Thats how it goes in Buffalo . All there is , is hope. And when we as fans see a glimmer of light , we assume the best. And then , without fail , we come crashing back down to Earth. Fitz is playing great. But Im holding myself back until week 10 or 11 and see where we are then. If he's still lighting it up , hes our guy obviously , if not , we're in the same position we were a month ago.

I still don't think drafting a LB is worth a top pick. If the QB position is solidified with Fitz , then I would hope the Bills brass would take the premier DL and make LB second priority. Premier LB's can be found every year in FA it seems , all pro lineman are rarely available.

Could it be possible that Aaron Maybin's failure to improve in his 2nd year could be attributed partly to the fact that George Edwards is an awful defensive coordinator?

An elite-level qb is the furthest thing from my mind today. More like the key is drafting an elite-level DT and trade down and grab an elite-level LB. QB is clearly not our problem 6 games in. That being said , there is still 10 more games to go.

Bottom line , if we had an NFL quality defense we would've won. Our offense crushed the "vaunted" Ravens D.

We're 6 games in and winless. That being said , if Fitz continues his aerial assault the rest of the year , he is our man in 2011 and the priorities shift from drafting QB to improving the defense. Fitz this year , has been all that you want out of a QB. He makes the tight throws , quick decisions , has a good pocket presence, and is piling up points on the board. Not to mention , he just shredded what some believe is a top 5 defense. Fitz has been our bright spot this year , and who knows , if we had a defense , we could be 4-2 or at the worst .500. He's only 27 and if you take into consideration the maturation time-frame of a young QB , he is right on track with the Aaron Rogers, Mannings, and Rivers of the world (Considering his playing time has increased). Two semi-seasons of continued improvement only makes the future that much more interesting for the Bills and Fitzpatrick.

Its a no-brainer. If Fitz continues his impressive play for the rest of the year , we have no business drafting a QB. I'd say draft a dominant DL and trade back into the 1st for a T or linebacker. Defense is why we are winless this year , not our offense.

After Fitz's performance today and pretty much all year , I think you have to reconsider your priorities come April. If the draft was tomorrow , I certainly wouldn't be thinking QB with my 1st round pick. We need all the defensive help we can get and maybe , just maybe we already have our franchise qb on the team.
