A season is a lifetime, don’t get too high or too low after a game or two. I just hope we get healthy and get that mojo back.
Oh, and remember, it is a game.
I think that's the key... every game is different. They won against NE , I'm glad they did. It's all about getting healthy and getting hot at the end

Here are some advanced metrics that help to show Allen's progress as a QB.
-Bad throw percentage has decreased every year from 25.7% to 20.3% to 14.6% this year. This is actually one of the best percentages in the entire NFL. Tannehill is at 11.7%, Roethlesberger is at 12.3%, Brees is at 13.0%, and Ryan is at 14.3%, but he is ahead of Wilson(14.7%), Cousins(14.8%), Rivers(15.6%), Watson(15.6%), Goff(15.7%), Brady(15.7%), Murray(16.6%), Rodgers(17.7%), Mahomes(18.9%), Jackson(19.8%), Mayfield(20.5%), Stafford(20.6%)...so for the people claiming Allen is making all these bad throws, he is actually making less of them than a lot of other QBs.
-On target percentage has increased from 73.2% last year to 80.6% this year.
-Allen is taking fewer sacks, with only 13 this year so far.
-Teams are blitzing Allen less as he continues to make teams pay for it...29.2% to 23.3% to 20.9% this year.
-Allen is also scrambling less which is consistent with him keeping his eyes downfield and trying to make plays through the air. He only has 16 scrambles so far which would equate to 32 for the season versus 43 last year. With probably an extra 100 or so pass attempts this year based on current numbers, the scramble percentage is down significantly.
-Allen has also attempted almost as many play action passses this year as he did all of last year. 94 already this year through 8 games and 105 last year for the whole season. He also has more yards already off PA Passes even with 11 fewer passes.
-They have also ran as many RPO's this year as they did all of last year(42)
Wow, thanks. Great job matter2003

So Zimmer didn't make a great play to strip the ball?

After a loss like Tuesday night, it usually takes me a couple of days to go back on internet websites and sports outlets - anything Bills/NFL related because I get so bummed out. How do you react? Also, I wonder if any of the mods here have data on whether traffic dies off after a big loss or not.
Wow, I'm the same way. I don't listen to GR55, I don't watch national sports programs, etc. I'm totally bummed out . I go so far as to say I'm not watching any more after losses like that. I'm still not over this one.
What's funny is this is only when they are good. When they are bad, I do listen. I want to sulk in all the negativity. The talk of bad coaching, bad plays, bad players and what are the owners going to do.

Yep. Not all losses are the same. This loss was a warning lights big time on the dash type loss. Basically showed if Allen isn’t perfect they can’t win and any mistake cost them dearly. I’m actually not super down on Josh as much as the rest of the team to not pick themselves up especially the D. Turnovers happen how you respond matters. We responded by allowing TD after TDBecause our defense sucks.

The Bills are going nowhere with that sorry defense!!!

I lurk on one of the Pats boards. Don't ask me why; it's a weird thing.
But the near constant mantra since we started hot is "the Bills have started hot before - they always unravel."
I mean, some truth - but that was with a completely different team, coach, GM, owner, QB...the works. This is the same team in name only.
But still....it worries me. Irrationally.
They can't always unravel. That's wishful thinking by Patriot fans

Yes, good point. I feel like our offense is headed to the stratosphere as it is, but our Defense is going to decline unless we find this stud playmaker. It's the only missing piece. If we find it I expect us to challenge for the Super Bowl tout suite.
I forgot to say this. There might be one in free agency .

We need a playmaker on defense. Preferably DL, but someone who can wreck a game by being such a ***** freak. I love the disciplined team defense that McD runs, but we need a stud ***** who can crash a game when the momentum needs to be shifted.
Then we would probably have to move up

Kudos to LeBatard for the shoutout referencing Josh's country strong facemask penalty where he broke the would-be tackles of 3 Rams who had him in their grasp, including Donald. Gimme that facemask penalty on my QB all day--guaranteed that makes the opposing DL even less enthusiastic about rushing him, lolz. I mean, outside of Kelly, who have we ever had at QB who actually fights back?
So we can cross of Trent Edwards from the tough guy list?
Yet Bomani Jones refuses to apologize for what he has said about Josh Allen. When a sports writer cannot admit when he/she is wrong, they lose credibility. Credibility is crucial for any writer. I view Bomani Jones much differently now. He let's his biases cloud his reporting. I won't read any of his work any longer.

Are you ready for some Football ?!!!!I am
Thank You for that!!! It's a strange year with no preseason. It has to be difficult for the coaches to make cuts with the players on the bubble. Some teams might not be as ready as others. Not sure what to expect.

But why?
Our salary cap’s been cleaned up, our roster is competitively deep at almost each marquee position, our QB’s chemistry with the new ammo has the goods written all over it, and we have less opt outs than the Patsies. Just wondering why @eballshould be reined in?
Because we have a tough schedule, plus I'm a Bill's fan, lol

Bills selected Bass in Round 6 -but nearly 30 picks earlier (in Round 5) Belichick selected Rohrwasser.
Fast forward 4 months - Bass has won the starter job for the Bills besting Hauschka. The Pats, on the other hand, are bringing in Nick Folk to compete with Rohrwasser (suggesting Rohrwasser is not yet ready).

Kicker is one of the few positions on the team where talent and mental fortitude are the only criteria - you don’t have to worry about the player’s fit with the offensive and defensive schemes of the team. And Belichick’s ST evaluation is generally regarded as second to none. Just wanted to highlight our own staff’s superiority in scouting and drafting in this particular instance.
Belichick has had his fair share of lousy picks. Brady covered up a lot of mistakes.

Interesting article and something to think about. I think the TV deal gets done and the cap goes up, but if it doesn’t...
Tre can probably be re-signed in a way that works with the cap because of what he’ll be owed for his 5th year. But Milano, some of the other guys coming up?
I think Beane is operating the right way and the Hausch cut makes more sense. Star deferring to next year I think hurts us a little, as I think he would have been a cut.
Either way, a lot of teams could be in some trouble.
I think the TV deal gets done. It always has.

Yep. They could have found a way to keep Diggs... but they want to run the ball a lot on offense they felt losing one of their two top end receivers was worth it to maintain and upgrade the defense.
Yes, and the way the 49ers went to the Super Bowl may have played a part in their decision making process. It's a copycat league

Time to put my money where my mouth is. No excuses, this is the most complete Bills roster since the late 90s and they will prove it on the field. No glaring holes at any position, and quality depth throughout. Backup QB is a question mark, so the health of Josh Allen is key. Provided he stays healthy, I see the Bills going 6-0 in the East, and of the remaining ten games there is only one — @SF — in which I think they will go in as an underdog. The W5 matchup with KC is likely a pick’em, because I expect Buffalo to be 4-0 going into that one. They’ll be favored in every other home game and the road games are not particularly daunting outside of Tennessee. Arizona is a media darling but they are unproven and have a suspect defense. Vegas is still, in my opinion, a mess. Denver may be a bit better but I’m not sold on Fangio or Lock.
I’ll give them losses to KC, San Fran, and a couple we don’t expect — maybe Tennessee, Pittsburgh, or the roadie at NE***.
AFC East champs and the #2 seed in the playoffs.
There ya have it.
Love your optimism and I hope you're right but I feel you may be a bit overly optimistic

Because they wanted to keep Anthony Harris and Harrison Smith together. They essentially had a choice... split that pair up and keep Thielen and Diggs or let Harris walk and keep their receivers. They will be hoping that Justin Jefferson can step right in but listening to Matthew Coller on WGR last week he said Jefferson has only really produced in the slot to this point in camp. I am a sceptic that Jefferson is ever really going to be a top level outside guy.... but he can be an excellent slot receiver.
I get your point, it makes sense. But they just added a 17 million dollar salary.

I can see us keeping 2 kickers but no way 2 punters and there is absolutely no way that they roster 4 kickers and punters total.
