  1. There is a slotting process. When an agent tries to go outside of that slotting process and causing his rookie client to miss valuable training camp time, he's not doing anyone any good except for himself, assuming he gets what he was looking for. At some point I'd hope the Bills would say to Maybin and his agent "this is our final offer, if you don't like it, you can sit out the season, lose a year of NFL money, and re-enter the draft, with probably no chance of being a first round pick, much less a top-15 pick." Enough is enough.
  2. Spot on. It wasn't worth the $60M investment to find out whether last year was an aberration or the way it's going to be from now on with him. The "shock" was that the Bills had the nerve to trade a supreme talent like him. Did you even once hear him say that he wanted to stay in Buffalo, in his Eagles' PC?
  3. I would assume TO meant "ever again."
  4. Success is a relative term in this case.
  5. Where did you see any "facts" and "logic?"
  6. The Bills don't want to trust a 2nd year player with the job of protecting the QB's blindside. Maybe next year he'll be moved to LT, barring injury.
  7. I wish Palmer were competing at SLB instead of being stuck behind Mitchell at WLB.
  8. Obviously you missed this: And the G-3 loan is repaid with the visiting teams' share of club-seat revenue.
  9. I'm guessing...no.
  10. There's a term for this. I can't recall it though. How about "Big 'ol Jed had light on."
  11. If he's strapped for cash, he could always make a few bucks as a training camp tease. But his time in the NFL came, never went anywhere, and is now officially over.
  12. It isn't all about the money? So you think that Ralph is keeping these guys around because it's his master plan to have a team that misses the playoffs annually? Let me know when you've figured-out what argument you're trying to make here. Because the Colts and Chargers for the majority of the 90's were "laughingstocks" as well. And you didn't answer my question. How much do you spend on games? How many games have you gone to in the past decade?
  13. Hopefully he wisely invested the money he stole from the Bills. Most people could live comfortably off of that.
  14. I agree. I think that giving Bell all the time with the starters that they can will only make him better sooner. Given what Ross Tucker said about RG being the hardest position to play, and Wood looking like a future stud there, does anyone think that Butler might be better-served at LG?
  15. Apparently you can trade an old clunker for a new clunker like a Hummer. Also 4 of 5 new cars bought were foreign. And last but not least, instead of say, selling the cars to the oil-rich Middle East, where American A/C is prized, they've killed the engines and crushed the cars (after scavenging other parts).
  16. The Bills aren't the laughingstock of the league, and don't rank 29th in wins over the past decade. You need to check your facts, sir. And when they did have Polian, his teams lost 4 straight SB's. Jerry Jones ran Jimmy Johnson out of Dallas? Regarding ticket prices and improving the product, Mr. WEO, who seems to share your opinion, just stated that for all of the money Snyder and Jones have spent, it hasn't translated into much winning. So what makes you think that Ralph spending more money will succeed, whereas these "great NFL owners" are failing? And how much more are you willing to spend on tickets? How much do you spend right now?
  17. I couldn't even tell you where to find VH-1 on my TV.
  18. I'm willing to believe that the Bills offered him slightly more than Evans got (4 years, $37.25M with $18.25M in guarantees) because they didn't like how things went down last year, and maybe more stuff that we never heard about. The thing is, we'll never know for sure.
  19. Yeah, ignoring his advice got them...the last CBA, that they tossed the first chance they could get. But hey, they were "smart enough to include an opt-out clause!" And the smallest non-community owned team's market with the worst local economy needs to be "subsidized" by the rest of the NFL? Wow, major revelation there, JohnC! Nevermind that Ralph was one of the men who helped create this powerful league before any of the "new guard" owners even made their first million. Let me ask you, would you favor Ralph raising prices so as to not be "subsidized" by the rest of the league? What do you think that would do to attendance figures? And why should you care if Ralph is subsidized by the other owners, as long as he doesn't pass it on to the fans?
  20. Interesting words from Tucker there, Senator. And Bell started at RT again today with Chambers playing backup LG.
  21. I cut out the other stuff in your post because, looking at some old posts from before I got here, it's been hashed and re-hashed to death. Regarding the above, Douglas played for the Eagles and worked with them for some time. He's an on-air personality now. He's got more reason to be a homer than purely impartial, and he's definitely not a hater. So his saying that he talked to opponents of Peters and revealing what they said about him being soft and overrated is noteworthy.
  22. Hopefully reports that Byrd is also close to returning are also true.
  23. And true. The owners opting-out of the CBA, which Ralph voted against, pretty much proves that point.
  24. Okay then. Shouldn't a good LT be able to block Elam, even just a little (maybe another second-worth, which would have been enough)? Much less "the best LT in football?"
