seantrel Henderson facing 4 game suspension
CodeMonkey replied to Don't stop billievein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"OT Seantrel Henderson tested positive for marijuana, source said, which can be used to help deal with pain for his Crohn's disease." I was wondering if the NFL was going to have to alter it's zero tolerance for weed with it being prescribed by doctors now. -
"Experts" Picks Week 1 vs the Ravens
CodeMonkey replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
538 sees the exact opposite, and Amos has already given the game to the Ravens. But as I said before, all models are operating on really really limited valid data. They will get more accurate in a few weeks when some real games have been played. -
"Experts" Picks Week 1 vs the Ravens

Don't have the exact figures but I believe you are right. In fact all the models I watch were I believe. But early in the season they are the most suspect because of the extreme lack of data. -
"Experts" Picks Week 1 vs the Ravens
CodeMonkey replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think most will because it should be a close game, the Bills are missing some key players, and it's in Baltimore. -

Very valid point. Same argument could be made for serious day drinking!

I would agree completely if it was fantasy football and every season was starting with empty rosters. The past 16 years don't doom the Bills to failure, or even mediocrity yet again, but it definitely has an impact IMO. -

You said hopeless not me. I just don't see it this season, but someday it has to happen. Pretty simple actually if your head isn't clouded by too much emotion. -

75 minutes for me usually, I record and strip out commercials and halftime and watch witht he family during dinner (PS 4:00 games suck!) -

CodeMonkey replied to 8-8 Forever?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Someday they have to break out of it. The drafting system of the NFL is designed such that 16 year playoff droughts shouldn't happen in the first place. But I don't see it this year, journalists (ignoring Sully who would probably find a way to piss on a 16-0 season) might not either. -

And last year it was "Ah yes! 15 years. That means everything in 2015." right, and the year before that ... Hey it's preseason, time to drink the koolaid if you so choose. But not everyone chooses to is all. And reporters shouldn't, in my opinion. -

Haven't you heard, they are supposed to say at least 10-6 and playoffs. If they don't they are hacks. Saying what they really think will not be tolerated, particularly if it is in the range of what the Bills have done for the last 16 years. -
Yes it is.

Maybe these NFL personnel people just like Rex. Maybe they really feel Rex is good at his job. Maybe they don't burn any bridges for their own careers. Who knows. The proof is the body of work over his career, and more importantly to Bills fans, how he does this season. We can only hope for the best.
-
Rex's agent might spin it that way. But his record is what it is. He was > .500 his first 2 seasons and <= .500 since. For the 7 years, .482. But it's another year and hope springs eternal. He has his brother by his side and all the wings and beer they can want. It may be a last stand and maybe not, but with Rex it won't be boring.

Mark Gaughan gives up b4 the season even starts
CodeMonkey replied to 8-8 Forever?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's been correct for the past 15 seasons or so. Every season the team "looks solid" and "11-5 to 12-4" and "end the drought". Maybe it will happen this year, but 7-9 to 9-7 IMO is where the smart money is yet again. -
It's that time of year.....Steve Tasker
CodeMonkey replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tasker tries hard and he has improved a lot the past few years, but he is brutal to listen to which is one reason he hasn't been snatched up by a major network to work regular season national games. Preseason for the Bills you get what you get. -
Kid's Day - Pop $2, Water $5
CodeMonkey replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Buy a soft drink or a snapple, dump that crap out and keep refilling the container with water. If the Bills cared about their fans they would provide, or sell at cost, cups for people to use for water. Particularly on kids day when it is so hot. Actually that would be a nice kids day promotion, every kid gets a bottle of water when they enter the stadium that they could reuse during the game. That's about my cost per game as well for my family of 5 (we don't sit in the clubs). There are so many more important things to spend my money on so we just watch the games commercial free during dinner and go to one preseason game. Usually the kids day game but skipped it this year. Just too expensive to justify for me (regular season). But junk food being considerably less expensive than healthy alternatives is a problem nationwide not just in NFL stadiums unfortunately. -
How will you refer to the stadium?

IK Done for the season according to Rapoport

Hopefully the long term injury party is over. -
"Buffalo Bills linebacker IK Enemkpali will miss the entire 2016 season after suffering a torn ACL in the team's preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts. " Would have linked, but it was in bleacher report.
-
They'll keep raising the price so long as people keep paying it. I sure would in their place. When (if) people stop paying the price will come down. Bars might have the games on?
-
I completely disagree. If the past 16 years have taught us anything, it's that hard core Bills fans, of which there are a great many, don't require results to stay loyal including financially. 16 year "drought" in full effect, ticket prices I think went up for most, and how many season tickets were sold for the upcoming season? Bills fans may piss and moan to high heaven, but at the end of they day they will always support the Buffalo Bills.
