  1. the Falcons did this to us last year with Dean Marlowe and did this to us again for Ankou.
  2. no interest. overhyped because the Bills did a ton of PR on him celebrating him as if he was the next coming of Kyle Williams.
  3. if you only knew about the ***** Whaley did. And Russ Brandon. ...then again, many do. ...but few realize that it was WELL known. I dated a girl briefly from Grand Island who would often see Brandon out there with interns/young ladies trying to be inconspicuous.
  4. in this case it is usually the person themselves. i learned this a few years ago and was reminded by it. back in the day a lot of the leaks were directly from Whaley who would be shitfaced or just give up information. Marrone, the Ryans, a few others would leak stuff frequently. also, one of the guys let go back over the summer was a big leaker. i forgot his name.
  5. can't ever have enough DE's and DT's.
  6. Oh, I didn't forget two weeks ago at all. I was happy we won. A lot of energy and emotion out into that game. We expect that in a playoff game but haven't seen that when it matters. We were lucky to beat the Fins & Ravens. Those were both at home. We crushed the Patriots because of course we did. Regardless, I am not sold on this team for a deep playoff push. 7. Don't kink shame me😗
  8. A good coach isn't going to keep running the same scheme and principles with lesser or other talent. Look at Seattle with Pete Carrol, wade Phillips, belichick, countless good defensive coordinators tweak their gameplans based on the players. No one in the NFL can fill milanos shoes. Especially not some rookie from Villanova.
  9. i meant bernard at mlb. just because rapp is in at SLB doesn't mean he is playing SLB. 3-3-5 in a creative spin basically rapp becomes the big nickel
  10. i am not being meldramatic because of the injuries. i am concerned with all things being put together. our coaches let Elam keep playing despite being ineffective. he looked unprepared, uncoached, and confused. i go back to last year in his relief. for 3 or 4 games he played very good at the least. our coaches thought williams would be suitable to come in and replace milano. it was obvious very quickly that he was not. he, like elam, was beched in the 2nd half. one of the only adjustments made. i get it, it's hard to win with backups playing. but it's just another excuse for McDermott this year that i don't want to hear. thank you for reply, sincerely. i sought you out because you generally have good takes and just getting the emogies was no fun without hearing your thoughts. i didn't hate bernard as a player. i didn't like an mlb as the pick, though i'm not sold on him just because of 5 games, either. and he is a good scheme fit thus far and we got lucky. we haven't correctly evaluated most of our LB's. 2018 Edmunds 2019 Vosean Joseph - (5) 2022 Bernard (3), Spector (7) 2023 Williams (3) our free agents havent' been great either.
  11. Most teams do not run as complex and specific defense as we do. Most have somet sort of level where the average FA could contribute. We do not have that defense of the next guy up being as capable because of how complex we are. And it's a fatal flaw.
  12. I agree with our current AFC lineup we would/could be ok but historically we aren't. And this maybe the weakest afc in recent times. Anything is possible.
  13. this was a huge mistake. to have went to London with Miller on a pitch count, on turf was a mistake. ankou could have been added to the active roster until miller was ready to play at home, or in a safe envirnoment. getting him early didnt' do any favors. he's played enough to know what he is doing.
  14. we are a fatally flawed team and falling at terminal velocity at this point. the nuances of why i think this are a bit much to get into but i can easily do so. i've touched on them across many posts and across many threads. they range from the top with beane not providing what mcdermott needs and that maybe because mcdermott and coaching do not know what they need to begin with. We drafted Elam, Williams, and Basham, Spector, and others who have mightly struggled. It is early on Williams but, again, the nuances i saw, he isn't ready this year. I will begin using caps to make it easier to begin. Beane gets us players we do not and cannot use and has for a while. Coaching is flawed because McDermott is not a good head coach and that was shown after the near mutiny in KC. Dorsey is a great QB Coach and a struggling OC young in his career which isn't going well Josh is his own liability and maybe wise to the fact he needs to protect his longevity over the sugar josh - so we are seeing him learn to play a new game. the offense, in our own little vacuum, is so great! we have guys like Harty and Sherfield who are going to be all pro you'd believe... but combined the two of them haven't offered as much as McKenzie did in his career. even if you combine the two. skill positions we have Davis who is about average for a 2nd or 3rd wr. we have james cook who is doing well but not top 5; and if you're not top 5 in this league at RB you're JAG. Knox and Kincaid are underutilized. lots of flaws there, and we over celebrate our OL who is also playing well. on defense - back to coaching... we keep throwing out guys in positions to fail. we keep running schemes and designs that do not work with the personnel we have in an adapting league that eats our style up. we have old safeties, we have no depth left at cb. we have a few good pass rushers but very few overall quality lineman. a lot of it comes down to us winning games because we have a lot of talent in positions and those players step up from time to time to win - but we have Josh Allen who maybe one of the top 10 athletes in the NFL of all time with his abilities. i can break it down even more if you'd like....like, true nuances on why hyde didn't do well on his coverage of ridley on the long completion, or james cook struggling the rest of the year, or kincaid being a non-factor based on his understanding of nfl seams, coverages, and open spaces. see, and you're not wrong. i 100% agree. we could, we could definitely do so because we have a lot of great players but as a team we are not what the Eagles were last year, what the Bengals were 2 years ago, what the Chiefs were the last few years = complimentary units. we could run the table, could win lots of big games but we can do that and still be fatally flawed. we could limp by with terrible wounds and survive to the superbowl and pull that off... but we still have gaping weaknesses. parity being what it is then we have to simply wait and see if we can outlast other teams with our wounds. hopefully, it's just a flesh wound!
  15. if you're paying for streaming then message me and i will tell you how to avoid the cost.
  16. i hope he does not. we need him 10 more years or more.
  17. If the whole story was told in just W's and L's then you could. but some of the more optimistic folks here have come over to the dark side to see we are a flawed team. it's in the nuances of the game that are so vital that cause us to realize there are flaws. in the recent nfl, for example, the play is almost always won before the snap. the personnel, the lineup, the movement, the reads all win most of the plays before the snap. even the prep, game plan, and buildup heading into Sundays are a factor. we aren't winning before the snap. i got a great quote for this. "if you're last, you ain't first." Ricky Rudd - Days of Thunder
  18. those latter stats you offered are washed over by many fans because McD's scheme gets lots of pretty pressure on the QB and look how great that is!!!! all that pressure gets the quick read to the WR against our weakened DB's and chunks of yards over and over creating long drives and winded players. we are a flawed team. it doesn't mean we suck. it doesn't mean we won't win a playoff game, hell we could win the super bowl. but we are still a flawed team and poorly coached.
  19. if you're not using sarcasm, then yes... if we are goign to have a down year and do a quick tune up rebuild than it'd make sense to use those guys.
  20. oh, i agree with williams being young and turning a corner but i am feeding off of what is offered here. many insist we are in a championship window and if we are than we need the highest floor possible. that'd be klein over williams in certain schemes/scenarios. and fwiw i'm not 100% sold on bernard right now. i think he is a scheme player fitting well to McD's defense and time will tell. he is better than i thought by a mile but i cannot believe the team trusted him to start. they partially got lucky. call it the Tom Brady outcome - the Patriots got lucky with him, too.
  21. i'm not talking about the playoffs. i am talking about winning the super bowl. i am talking about the regular season until then. find the wins: Giants @Patriots Bucs @Bengals Broncos Jets @Eagles @Chiefs Cowboys @Chargers Patriots @Dolphins Between the Chiefs, Eagles and Cowboys - there is likely 2 losses there. The Bengals are getting into stride, could lose that. Traveling west we usually don't fair well against the Chargers, and between them and the Jets I could see a loss there. Then the motivation topping off the season for Miami who could be playing for first place and a revenge game? I could see a loss in Miami. It's easy to see 4 losses there. That puts us on the road against Miami, Cinci, Kansas City, and everyone. How does McDermott fair on the road in the playoffs?
  22. funny how quickly people forget last year when he was playing well and the 2 or 3 weeks he played at a high level. @sunshynman care to elaborate on your emotional response?
  23. rapp is a better tackler and angle pursuer than any LB on our active team. we aren't winning the superbowl. this is a 4-6 loss team and not build for the playoffs. having williams play in downs and in mixed coverage is worthwhile, same with spector. but both of them are likely lifetime special teamers klein played sam in carolina with mcdermott, sam and will in new orleans, mike and will in buffalo.
  24. i would put him in at WLB, Rapp at SLB, Bernard at SLB. it would work. Rapp protected behind DL. Could also invert it. Rapp at WLB, with Lawson at DE who can set an edge contain solely, letting Rapp play zone coverage.
