  1. Firstly, when you get past LA, look at city populations and tell me which would be better for this franchise than western NY. Secondly, why change the name? Jets and Giants play in NJ, Redskins play in Maryland.
  2. Love the reference Uncle Hulka!
  3. Thanks I remember Burnett good player too short of a career.
  4. I have fond memories of the Old Rock Pile, but it was a dump and I'm not sure it was salvageable. There was also no parking. I remember going to a game with my father, two kids directed him to park in a driveway for which he paid them. After the game there was a really angry woman standing next to our car yelling at my father for parking in her driveway. She had been at church. The two kids didn't live there. My father kept apologizing, she kept yelling, I couldn't stop laughing.
  5. It is really about 30 minutes of live action, it just takes three hours.
  6. Lombardi coached in DC for one year 1969. He took over a team that went 5 and 9 in 1968, their record in 1969 was 7-5-2 second in the division. Not really bad.
  7. I was just going to write that. I agree, great team, great coach, good QB.
  8. "by virtue of outscoring their opponents". Is it possible to not outscoring your opponent and still win?
  9. I was thinking the same thing about Florence.
  10. Are you nuts! Fitz is a master at taking a knee! His kneeling prowess is how we defeated the Patriots. He forced Wilfolk to commit that unsportsmanlike penalty.
  11. Exclusive of the steroid issue, Merriman's problems started with his reluctance to have surgery. First on his knee and then his Achilles. I understand the reluctance, however when you earn your living as an athlete, when multiple doctors have recommended surgery and time is against you, you either do it or retire. Merriman is lucky to still be in the league, he no longer has the luxtury of time. This is it for him. That being said I hope he stays healthy, makes the team as a situational player, pass rusher. If he can produce anything near what he once did it makes this defense very tough. You have to root for the guy. For years I have been saying that the Bills need to start by building a team to beat the Patriots. To beat them you must put preasure on Brady. A healthy Merriman would help.
  12. I agree at this time of year you have to expect to win it all. Isn't that the fun of I.
  13. You left one out, they actually have linebackers playing linebacker.
  14. Don't care just happy to have some trim, indoors or out.
  15. Does anyone pay for Insider? I'd like to know what he said about the test of the AFC East.
  16. I have been thinking the same thing since they signed Young. He gives you way more options in the wildcat. However Smith's versatility may get him a roster spot. I think Tanney already signed somewhere.
  17. Thanks, I haven't been up there in a few years, think I'll fly up and visit my sisters.
  18. Giddish, a fusion of German dialects, Hebrew, Slavic languages with traces of silliness.
  19. Could you draw it up in the dirt for me?
  20. "Every example you cite in your post comes from the NFL of yester-year. It's fool's gold to try to compare QBs of the ground and pound era and the new high flying NFL we're seeing todayThe game has changed. It's a passing league now. QBs are putting up RIDICULOUS numbers. Why? Is it because these QBs are better than the Kelly's, Montana's, and Youngs? Maybe some are. But it has way more to do with the nature of the game. Kelly played in a time where a DB could literally rape the WR he was covering, punch his mother in face and still not get called for a penalty. Now, if a DB breathes on a WR it's an automatic first down." Wouldn't the reasons you cite make it easier to be a QB in today's NFL? Therefore one could conclude that those QBs of "yester-year" had to be better? Would Brady be in the same conversation with Unitas if he had to take the kind of hits Unitas did?
