This is terrible. Tirico just killing the refs. Roger are you listening? Protect the shield.

I get my "jollys" from TD's much more than yards passing. When the team is running all over the opponent you really don't need to throw for 400 ypg. But this is a nice new angle to bash our QB with more wins this season than Brady, Manning, Stafford, Big Ben, Brees...

I don't hate the idea (and I'm surprised at the positive response here). I'm all for finding ways to get the ball in his hands in space. He's pretty special when he gets some room.
-
I still feel like I have as many questions as answers with Fitz. He's looked solid and efficient the last 2 weeks. More shakey after Spiller went down yesterday but still okay. Next week will be a big test without either of the star RB's. Are they saving the long bomb to TJ for the *pats?

Stevie said today regarding the Bills running more going forward..."I wouldn't be surprised, I wouldn't even be mad"
The guy wants to win. I think he's still bothered by the groin and taking it easy when he can, like on a running play to the other side of the field.

Maybe 51 others, and Kyle Williams.
Amen to that, love them both. And how about a 23 year old, out there dominating a few days after his brother was murdered. I loved how the rest of the team was so happy for him after the sack.

Fair enough, just thought it funny. Besides, properly tapping a keg is a very important life skill.

I almost started a thread on this myself. I couldn't have made the point any better on getting rid of him. I do not see much value in him, especially with T-Jack on the roster now. He would make a better wildcat once he knows the playbook. I say get rid of him.
I don't get why people assume that player X (VY, TJax, Freddy, etc...) would run the wildcat better than Smith. Granted it hasn't done much yet, but they showed it yesterday and now teams need to prepare for it a bit. I too would like to see Smith throw out of it at least once to keep the defense honest, but they may be setting that up for a key moment down the road.
And the whole use that money to sign a WR, LB, QB is so silly since A. The Bills are not up against the cap, and B. there are really not any players out there to improve the team.

This place has been taken over by tweens
Says the keg tapper with a tag line of suck it

Just heard on ESPN podcast...players with more yards from scrimmage than Spiller since week 10 last season: Ray Rice, MJD, Calvin Johnson, that is all.
Pretty good for a bust that the team didn't need in the first place.

OK, I'll play.
Back at ya, what have you seen that indicates that he cannot cut it out there?
I know that he went to U-Buf and was not a Division I player, but I have seen too many players (like Fred Jackson for instance) not given a real shot because of their school pedigree.
I've seen very little, and thats the problem, aside from the big play against the Giants, I don't remember much about him. I like him and I like to root for the underdog, but I just don't think he has it. If he does get another chance, I hope he proves me wrong.
-
Naaman continues to get cut but the team with argueably the worst set of WR's in the league. No other team picks him up and gives him a chance, yet people continue to push for him to play on Sunday. I just don't get it, what have you seen that makes you think he'll succeed?
-
I am not ready to crown Spiller. He was taken down by a couple of arm tackles in the last game. Also, his field vision still has me nervous and hole-choice is still very questionable.
However, when he makes a big play, I have a bit of a celebration for him.
Spiiiiiiilllllllaaaaaaahhhh duh duh duh! (same tones and meter of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" song haha)
The only problem with this celebration is you have to make sure nobody is in the room with you. Otherwise, your reputation may be sabotaged for life.
My hole choice was pretty questionable at his age too.
I like Ricky Bobby too. Somebody put a cougar in his car.

Ouch, that stark reality hurts...and thats coming from a guy that cares about the Bills, not someone taking pot shots at an easy target (although they are).
-
I agree that a bold move for a QB is needed. There is some of this that can be chalked up to bad timing too. Rodgers may have been a Bill today but they thought they had a future guy in Losman, who they did make a bold move for. You can say the Bills should have drafted Cutler, but chances are, if they felt a QB was what they wanted, Leinert would have been the pick. As mentioned, the Bills were very interested in Vick.

I can't fathom losing a family member like that. Thoughts and prayers with the family.

If those guys are so good, why aren't they signed by any of the other 32 teams? This isn't 5 years ago. Every year you play in the NFL, you are less valuable. If this is Burress on the Giants and Branch on the Pats for his 1st stint, sign me up. But players normally don't get better after they turn 30.
I'm not saying either turns the Bills into Super Bowl contenders, but I feel that yes, even on the wrong side of 30, they are a better option than Easley, Naaman, and the like.

Complete BS. The reason Fitz is getting paid what he does is solely because of his system. It's the reason SJ is getting paid and FJax having career season. It's a very good offense that is limited because we have a limited QB. If RG3 or Luck was triggering our offense, this would be a very tough offense to defend.
So Fitz is getting paid what he is because of a system that he is not fit to run? So is it the FO that has failed us?
-
Gailey makes his "system" out to be so complex. If that's the case, why are opponents so rarely fooled by it?
Thank you! So a receiver that knows the system, but basically stinks, is better than a wide receiver with talent (Branch, Burress), that will have to learn on the fly? Not sure I buy that one. Best of luck on the rehab Mr. Nelson.

Great stuff on Kevin. Emotional all the way through. I'm so glad that he's found happiness and is able to lead a productive fulfilling life.

Donald Jones was the first guy to come to my mind when I saw the thread title. So I'll stick with the OP on that one. I'd love Moats to have a breakout year, but that guy just never impresses me aside from the few sacks he gets. He disappears way to often for my liking, but maybe this is the year he gets it...I hope so.

Brad Smith
Tarvaris Jackson
Dorin Dickerson
Nigel Bradham
Delano Howell
Sam Young
Kyle Moore
Bradham got some reps with the 1st team this week, can't imagine him getting scratched.
-
Saw that Rex has them lining up offsides to simulate Mario's speed off the ball. Love it.
-
I was thinking the same thing. I imagine cracked ribs would jack up your mechanics pretty good.
I don't think Fitz ever copped to the rib injury did he? I respect him for not using it as an excuse.
And thank God he is gonna keep that thing trimmed...I have an irrational dislike of it and have blamed his slump last season on the beard being so shaggy!
