  1. I have one of just about every Jim Kelly card made up to 1995. I would go to card shows and buy every one I saw. Sadly the collection has very little monetary value, but it is fun to look through. Tons of great pictures. I have a card holder wall frame in my bar room that I put all the Bills rookies from the glory years in. Looks nice and makes me happy.

  2. Very sad news, but I'm hopful that Jim will win this battle too. He is my all time favorite player in any sport. Kelly has been the first to admit he was an ass early in his career. Hell so was I, and if I was crazy rich, I'm sure it would have been worse. But he matured like most of us do and has been through a lot and seems like a genuinely good person now. No one can discount the positive influence he has had with his charity and there are not many better ambassadors to the city of Buffalo than #12. My prayers are with him and his family. Get well soon Jim!

  3. If I were SJ I would be looking over my shoulder (no pun intended). Granted he did have over 1K last season but was unimpressive in key areas- example coming back on underthrown passes, positioning for the ball when in close with the defender as well as weak defending against an interception.

The new staff are not beholden to him. Woods and Day Rick Rogers both have no. 1 potential.

C'mon, a pass that bounces 5 feet in front of you is pretty tough to come back on. Stevie was pretty defeated toward the end of the year I think. Watching balls fly 10 feet over your head will do that. The guy is a consistent performer and a real talent. We don't even know what we have in Woods let alone a UDFA like Rogers. Don't get me wrong I'm hoping for the best, but to insinuate that Stevie could lose his job anytime soon is crazy.
  4. Lets switch QBs to even things up. Who's production is more likely to change?

SJ gets open every play. He's not Calvin, AJ, or Fitz but he is a damn good wr. I'd love to hear this writers opinion on mike Wallace, who makes more $ than SJ & was the 2nd best wr on the Steelers.

Totally agree and I'd bet that this writer thinks that Wallace is a number 1. He's no more a 1 than Stevie. Wallace doesn't get you the tough catch on 3rd and 6 or the TD and a slick move from the 4 yard line. Stevie with his ridiculous moves just does things that other WR's can't do, and thats what gives Revis fits.
  5. I don't put Loften there either because of the short tenure. I certainly think Eric Moulds was better than what Stevie has done so far. Moulds was that typical #1 beast type of WR and the next best after Reed for me. I'm a fan of SJ for sure, and if he puts up 5 or 6 more good years than he can be in the discussion with Reed and Moulds.

  6. Disagree.

Not so much on Sunday but on Saturday all of that Woods-Garcia focus was directed towards the casual fan, not the serious fan.

NOt sure the point you're making here SJBF. I was responding to someone that said that true sports fans don't care about the PGA. I was disagreeing. Most big sports fans I know are into the PGA and watch at least the big tournies. I agree with you that reporting on Woods/Sergio targets a more casual golf fan, but that's not what I was talking about.
  7. Ok ... I have been one of the biggest bashers of WGR especially Schlep and Bull in the afternoons but as an out of state Bills' fan and season ticket holder desperate for Bills' news I have to admit that it seems that someone at GR is finally getting it. It started with Murph coming to the station but Buscaglia is a major player there too providing insight into the Bills. Does this mean S & B have suddenly discovered professional football? Of course not. Just give a listen and you'll soon realize that these are the two least informed sports talk hosts in America; all too often one of them pleads a lack of knowledge about a key player or game when the rest of America knows the full story because we either watched the game, paid attention to ESPN, read a sports information source online or even went to the newspaper's sport section to read the events of the day before. And, yes ... I was listening when S & B went into a lengthy Tiger Woods discussion when clearly most true sports' fans really are not into the PGA. I have no complaints about covering the Stanley Cup playoffs because it does relate to the Sabres not being there. But, on Monday after sounding so foolish in their interview with Nix it would have been great to hear about the first day of OTA's. So, I am giving WGR some breathing space .. they still rank amongst the worst sports talk stations I have ever had to listen to but they are better than a year ago.

Really? That tournament did huge ratings and the Woods/Sergio story was big news. All over the national talk shows. I think most true sports fans are into the PGA, especially when Tiger is involved. And I agree with 26cornerblitz and the like, GR has been all over the Bills.
  8. Pretty much both, because the Mario move (to me) stank of FO desperation to do something quick to please the fan base. It is the glossy marketing move that creates buzz, but does not really move the team forward.

This is such weird thinking to me. We had a dismal pass rush and picked up the best pass rusher available (also Anderson). It filled a huge need. It just didn't work last year. Mario was hurt, Anderson got hurt, Wanstadt was a joke and Kyle W. had a down year. The move was still solid though.
  9. Not the ones that are OPEN WHEN THEY ARE COVERED. Those guys are elite. DHB is, well, not that.

There may be only 7 or 8 of those guys in the league, and I'm not sure any are FA's (maybe Welker).

I would rather have a guy like DHB than Amendola. We need a deep threat. Stevie is really the underneath Welker type anyway. You can't have an entire WR corp of guys that operate best under 10 yards from the line of scrimmage, too easy to game plan for that.
