  1. the thought process is that if you don't really like anybody at 10 and you find a team willing to move up, you consider it.

Especially if you have a few guys that you like and you are sure one will be avalable with whatever pick you get later.

I understand the thinking, I just don't like it. And I'm speaking specifically about the relatively big need the Bills have at LT. If you think Reiff can be the guy, don't take a chance of him not being there at 16. Personally I don't want them to draft Reiff, if the draft played out like this one, I'd stay put at 10 and draft Floyd.

If you were following along on ESPN.com, our 'GM' was hoping for Kuechly, who went 9th so he traded back, was wanting Floyd at 16 but then settled for Reiff, since Gilmore also went at 15.

  2. My whole problem with this type of trade back and thinking in general, if Reiff isn't good enough at 10, what makes him good enough at 16? If you think he is a starting left tackle, you take him at 10 and don't look back. Letting him drop 6 spots doesn't make a difference if he's a right tackle in the NFL. This is the type of trade that an analyst with a trade value chart makes and not an actual GM (at least I hope not).

  3. Why you got to diss our coach like that? I'm very confidant he knows the nfl just a little bit better than you.

You do know that Buddy is the GM right :nana: ? But I agree, I think he knows what he is doing just fine. I would love Fleener, but I don't think he gets past the Colts in the 2nd round (and may go sooner), to pair with Luck for the next 10 years.

  4. How about Dez Bryant at #9. If he keeps his head on straight, he is going to be very good, and a true number 1 receiver that the Bills still lack.

You can spend your time looking backwards or forwards. I see no point to this thread. The reality is what we have and where we are and judging the 2010 draft right now is folly.

Isn't it the same point as any thread, to have a discussion about football. I never understand why people take the time to post in a thread if they see no point to it, just move on to another one.

  5. Apparently you don't. Not just because you think Mike Vick is a franchise QB, or that Sam Bradford is considered franchise quality 8 games into his rookie season, but that player like Peyton Manning only come around once in a while and the odds of a QB picked #1 overall winding up a Pro Bowler is like 20% That is why I don't understand the hype of losing games for a #1 draft pick. Drafting Luck guarantees nothing.

Actually since 1980, of the 14 QB's (not including Bradford) taken first overall, 8 have been to the Pro Bowl. So don't let the facts get in the way of trashing someone to make a point. 3 of the 14, if you include Peyton, are in the HOF, for your 20% number would be accurate there.

Don't misunderstand this to assume I am cheering for the Bills to lose to get that first pick, I'm not. But getting excited about the opportunity to select Andrew Luck is not a foolish endeavor.

And Mike Vick has won alot more games than he has lost in his career, and from what I've seen from Sam Bradford, I'd say he looks franchise quality to me.

  6. I know that this board wants the Bills to grab every player available, but since we have Whaley and still decided not to grab him, maybe he's not all that. I know it's not fashionable to defend the FO, but if only San Fran and Philly put in a claim, we may not be looking at the next Ray Lewis here.

  7. If there isn't a QB that we want in rd 1, I think you have to get the best pass rusher available. I am starting to think Bell could be a better than average LT and then you take a top RT in the 2nd. Go after Vick or Kolb and see where it goes. All that said, if Luck or Mallett or if someone else emerges, then you gotta grab him.

  8. Am I the only one that is not sold on Fred Jackson. Everyone talks up his stats from last year, and he had a nice season, but if you take away the game against Tampa and the Colts backups, he ran for less than 700 yards in the other 14 and had 2 td's all season. Lynch had back to back 1000 yard seasons with equally bad O lines and scored far more TD's. He has a real nose for the endzone I've always felt. I'm glad Lynch is still a Bill and hope he stays that way.

  9. Do people really believe that Lynch was being showcased?

1.) teams scouted him in college and have seen enough of him in the NFL to know exactly what they need to know about him. They don't need to see him get a dozen carries in one last game to make up their minds if they want him or not.

2.) If the Bills would actually play Lynch to showcase him rather than play the players they think give them the best chance to win that particular game, than the entire FO and coaching staff should be fired and banned from working in the NFL

Thank you, voice of reason. I have been saying since the draft that Lynch and Spiller make the most sense as the future combo at RB. I like Fred, but he is the oldest and might bring nice value in a trade anyway.

  10. This is a great topic, I've had this conversation with my friends a bunch of times. One of my rules it that you can't wear a former Bill while he is still in the league, so no Winfield, Peters, Fletcher, etc...

A Joe Ferguson would be a great one. Joe D or Reggie McKenzie works.

I'll be wearing my Trent white throwback on Sunday. That was the best thing about him winning the job this year.

  11. Can't stand Aikman, Buck, Simms, Dierdorf. They are boring and masters of the obvious. Joe Buck can turn the most exciting play into a 2 yard run.

I think Collinsworth is the best color guy by far. Opinionated and not afraid to call out bad players, coaching, and officiating. I also like the MNF guys and Gus is always fun. Loved the old Criqui and Trumpy combo, and Olson/Enberg were great too.

  12. Because the worst offensive line and worst linebackers in the league trump RB's and DB's

Seriously? You really think Miami in any way believed Kelly wasn't going to play? These coaches game plan everything. Miami has a gameplan if Roscoe Parrish has to play emergency QB. They have a game plan if the toilets don't work. Do you think for a moment there is anything that the Bills 3-4 defense could surprise the Dolphins with? The only surprise would be if we played with 10 guys on the field.

Go sharper802! and take your crappy attitude with you. Go Bills.

Great post Belucheese, you seem like a nice addition to the board.

Can't wait for Sunday.....the Spiller era begins!

  13. Reed sucked his entire career. I defy you to find one play in his entire career where he broke a tackle? I also would take issue with your idea that Welker get's drilled by LB's over and over. Most of his passes are caught in the flat regardless of where he lines up and he is tackled by CB's.

This is a joke right? 2 seasons ago Reed was the best receiver on the team and a third down conversion machine. He broke tackles over the middle all season. Last season we barely used him. I always thought he could be our Wes Welker in the right scheme.
