this is an extremely good example of the double-standard applied to professional athletes, entertainers, etc. If one of us were to be discovered to be running an underground dog fighting ring, our employer would most likely fire us (or make it so hard we would quit) and we would NEVER be allowed to go back to said position. Why is Vick any different? It reeks of money.

Thanks, man. It breaks my heart to see the real WNY, when there are is so much potential if things would be amended. I think WNY is controlled to a large extent by NYC and Albany. I never understood why local politicians were ok with this. I like Brian Higgins. But WNY, IMO, needs someone who is bigger than the politics of the area to come in and bond everyone together for change. Someone to really drive what needs to be done, and embarrass anyone who gets in the way. I'm not saying I have an idea who, but someone with the profile of a Trump or something. Someone so big, anyone that got in the way would be crushed. And they most likely would have to come from outside of the WNY system of doing things. But alas, I dream too much...

why does everyone assume I am calling SKOOBY a lady? I just don't care for gossip. I understand that a whole industry has emerged that is mostly sport gossip. As I said earlier, just provide a link and I am cool. -
Good questions. I believe that people are still warned to not eat the fish out of the lakes because of PCB's still in the water and the fish. Swimming is also discouraged at certain sites.

Wow! Sensible legislation in WNY/ Southern Ontario?!?!? Maybe we should start hiding in our bombshelters now?

Well, these are ALL controlled substances. For the doctor to write an RX and there is most likely not a need... I know money talks, but c'mon! Brings new meaning to hiding in plain sight, y'know? And yes, the one big benefit to HGH is the extension of career. Canseco makes reference to that in his book. Romanowski also brings this up in his book, I believe. Although, sometimes I wonder about that, too. Achilles tendon tears, biceps and pectoral tears, etc are all indicative of heavy anabolic drug usage. Let's also not forget how 'The Fridge' Perry was once considered an abberation for his over 300 lb weight (waaay back in '85- sarcasm), now a lineman is considered undersized if he is less than 300 pounds. "Yes, I'll take the HGH, Deca, and Insulin with my Steak and Eggs, please". You simply never heard about these types of injuries (nor the shortened recovery times- T.O.'s "miraculous" recovery while in Philly for the Super Bowl comes to mind) a few years ago.

How much will the no huddle offense help offset our

I think that offense is called the 'Hurry-up-to-slow-down" offense. -
thanks Dan. I've seen this before, too. These anti-aging doctors are out there. Hollywood is obsessed with this stuff, but how are these "doctors" allowed to continue practice as a licensed professional? How is it legal?

I'm sorry to be skeptical about any reporter who "makes" the news. Jayson Blair rings a bell. Now, because everyone seems to be a tad hormonal here today, I'm not saying he IS Jayson Blair. I'm just quoting the ACTUAL report which stated that he was not going to be ready until January because of knee surgery from 2 weeks ago and that Jauron would not immediately comment as the team would discuss his status later. I prefer to wait for the actual event to HAPPEN (i.e.- facts), instead of gossip like a bunch of busybodies with nothing better to do. VOGL with the Buffalo News pulled the same stuff recently with an article about how both Dominic Moore and Afinogenov are done in Buffalo. I called him on it. After scouring the web, there was absolutely nothing about any signings or dealings of these 2 players. So, it was pure speculation on his part. Will these 2 move? I think so. Everything would indicate the same. But is it ethical for a reporter to report or present something as fact when it has not yet occurred? (I'm NOT saying that this article or its reporter did this, as the article does not say he was cut...but SKOOBY all of sudden comes rushing in...) I posted the actual article on here too. Shortly after that, The Dean provided the link from the Bills site that he was waived. I am now a believer. After it's a fact. Don't mean to bruise any ego's or step on anyone's toes. Just provide your source, and I'm fine. -
sad, isn't it? I would bet that Hugh Jackman was also juiced for the Wolverine movie. How does this happen? How is it ok for Hollywood to be juiced (Stallone, Rourke, Jackman, Van Damme, Lundgren, Weathers, Schwarzenegger), yet MLB is under scrutiny? Why does the WWF or WWE get a free pass? Why is it ok for the NFL to be an advertisement for the pharmaceutical companies, but Lance Armstrong is a disgrace? I think the Michael Jackson case may be the extreme tip of the iceberg is how those in the limelight have these unethical doctors who provide these powerful drugs so that they can somehow be attached to that fame. Why is there a double-standard?
-
The studies do not take into consideration the DOSAGES that these athletes take, and they do not look at stacking, or using these drugs IN CONJUNCTION with other anabolics (steroids, insulin, etc). HGH, by ITSELF, seems to be negligible. But is used by many professional athletes and bodybuilders for years as a powerful anabolic driver when used/ stacked with other anabolic drugs.

c'mon. That is a generalization. You obviously need the personnel and QB to lead such an attack. Is Trent that QB? Time will tell. But the thread asked if it could help the O-Line. IMO, it would because of the position it forces the defense into. Now, this is dependent on talent/ personnel, execution, etc. Also, it is not fool-proof either. One of the biggest downfalls is that time of possession boogaboo. Your offense may be on fire, but getting off the field quick potentially hurts your defense if you are not leading on the scoreboard. -

I disagree. If the offense is calling (and executing) plays faster than the blitz penetrates it would actually open up more options. Also, personnel will be limited and not allowed to be substituted. Granted, the onus of EXECUTION is on the offense. But if they execute correctly, I believe that it is a superior way to march down the field. Don't you remember the K-Gun? -

so you are speculating that he will be waived and not placed on IR, etc. why don't we all just take a collective sigh, and wait for the Bills to make their announcement on his status later today? -

Well, that thing in the NFL called IR or PUP kinda sways me a little. That, and the whole Jauron refused to comment and the team will make an announcement later too. Every one just needs to calm down. -

ok, from Forbes.com: "Bills LB DiGiorgio to miss season with knee injury By JOHN WAWROW , 07.25.09, 11:44 AM EDT PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills linebacker John DiGiorgio will miss the season after having surgery to repair bone damage in his right knee. His agent, Chris Murray, told The Associated Press on Saturday that DiGiorgio had surgery two weeks ago in Vail, Colo. Murray said the surgery went well, but that DiGiorgio isn't expected to be fully healthy until January. Coach Dick Jauron declined to comment on DiGiorgio and said the team will make an announcement later. Signed by Buffalo in 2006 as an undrafted free agent out of Saginaw Valley State, DiGiorgio appeared in six games before tearing a ligament in his right knee last season. His best year came in 2007, when he started 14 games." I don't read where he was waived. -

no need to get defensive, but when it actually makes news we can take it as fact. nothing personal, man.
