When the average RB career is less than 3 years and the Bills are destined for 1-15 next year can you blame him if he wanted out?
-
oft injured? He has had one bad year of injuries any came back to play well last year after having a potentially career ending foot injury. Schobel never gets the credit he deserves. I for one hope he geats traded to a contender in the NFC along with maybe a 6th or 7th round piack and the Bills can get a 3rd round pick in return. I think he can excell at OLB but the rebuilding time frame and his age don't bode well for him making the playoffs in his career if he stays in Buffalo.

By ridged I assume you meant rigid. And yes when they want to add creationsism to text books it makes me get "ridgeder". I'm just glad they can't burn me at the stake like they did the people who proclaimed the earth was round and not the center of the universe. Rather hang with the sinners than the saints, then sinners are much more fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/danpatric....html?eref=sihp What a shock team Jesus thinks Tebow is going to be good. Sooooooo glad the FO didn't hire this guy. -
What has he done to be "up" on him? He was cut and cleared waivers meaning every NFL team including the Bills passed on him before he was put on the practice squad. How many second round picks get cut in their second year? The ones with no future in the NFL.
-
Training camp fodder! I suspect the bills will draft 2 LB's who have legit NFL size and probably sign one undrafted FA LB to smash people in camp.
-
No news is good news. This is about the time latent infections would cause a problem. My guess he still is on the PUP list and is probably 60/40 he is able to play next year. Chances are if the team is 1-7 at the time he is eligible to come off the list they put him on IR. Next time he plays may be post lockout 2012.
-
You don't know that. Bell played well against NE before he got hurt. He played hurt most of the year.
-
It is going to be Dan Williams and the best available OT left in round 2. If Berry, Spiller, Bryant, and a bunch of other defenders go in the middle rounds the Bills might be enticed to trade back up into the first round for a falling OT if there is one.

Hope they told him to show up on Saturday and not Thursday or Friday. Seriously I would not be surprised if he goes undrafted. Ask yourself if Tebow was black and didn't have team Jesus on his side would he have even been invited to the combine workout???? -
Rod Woodson brings up a good point

You are wrong in so many ways it is funny. As others have pointed out franchise QB's are just as likely to come from anywhere in the draft as they are top 5 picks. Most of all there is no GM or team that wants a top 5 pick in the current salary structure. With no rookie salary system the signing bonuses for top 5 picks are so huge that no GM wants any part of it. The only reason they stay in the top 5 is that noone wants to move up in those slots to draft anyone. Missing on a top 5 draft pick can set a franchise back for years. Look at Detroit, Cleveland and how there poor success with top 5 QB choices is still haunting them. The Bills are still haunted by Mike Williams. The draft is a crap shoot at almost every position. Quantity of picks almost always outweighs the actual draft position. -

He has not played QB in any sense of the word from an NFL perspective. He is better looked at as a throwing Rb than a running QB. He is going to be a bust. well maybe not a bust since he probably won't be drafted that high. -
With the 9th pick .... Dan Williams
sharper802 replied to sharper802's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hope you are right. Dez Bryant could also be a target for a WR needy team at #9. I am hoping the FO moves back three of four spots at least and takes best available LB, NT, OT. If a gem OT falls to #9 then go ahead and make that pick. Please no QB. -

Trading back up is partially what has gotten the Bills into the sad place they are in. -

I didn't see any Tennesse games and the only higlights I saw were of Berry and Lane Kiffin leaving. Every mock I see Dan Williams going to Miami to play in the 3-4 against the Bills twice a year. I say pick the anchor for the defense this year. -
Stay with me for a moment... RT, LB, and DE in FA. Bell and Levitre (I know he has short arms and it is doubtful but at least in the conversation) compete for LT with Meredith a back-up for RT. That leaves QB and NT. Both Bradford and Clausen may be gone. If two or three of the best OT are gone, I think Dan Williams at NT may be the guy. The Buffalo version of the Williams brothers rotating at NT may not be a bad combination. Kyle is undersized but may be a beast on passing downs. Dan Williams seems to have the size, 6-2 325 is what I saw listed, to be the run stuffer. That leaves the second and third rounds to take a OT, QB, LB or WR.
-
Not with Kyle Williams at NT... If the Bills were smart they would take advantage of his ProBowl alternate spot and trade him to an NFC 4-3 team. He may be a very very good passing down NT but there is no way he can hold the point of attack against the run. They should have signed Jamal Williams to play first down. If they could get a low 2nd round pick or high third round pick for Williams they should do it. He is a very good player but I fear he just doesn't fit the system.
-
You do realize the team hasn't made the playoffs for a decade? We are no better than Oakland or Detroit. New Orleans now has a SB victory. Even Arizona is good. Every team in our division was better than the Bills last year and on paper seem to be at least as good if not better.

Bills need to make their 1st round pick the right one
sharper802 replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Draft is a total crap shoot. What makes the Bills draft history so horrid is the amount of picks they have given up to move up in the draft or given away for aging players. What do the Pats do? Trade back unless a superstud like Mayo falls to them in a pick that wasnt't theirs to begin with. They trade away aging veterans like Bledsoe and Seymour to sad sack franchises like the Bills and Raiders. The Bills have continually made the mistake of targetting certain players - Losman, McCargo, Poz, instead of letting players fall to them or trading back to acquire more picks. That is why this team has no depth, no offensive line prospects except Bell, and doesn't hit in training camp(simply not enough bodies). -
Nice job by our Front Ofiice.

Payroll figures in any one year have nothing to do with how much money a frnachise spends. In the NFL with a salary cap it is all about the signing bonus and the number of years that figure is stretched over time. -
'Bama LB McLain could be the Bills pick
sharper802 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hope you aren't right because he can't play LT long term and according to you he can't play LG. I don't think he was as good as Wood but he held his own most of the time. Do you think having a revolving door next to him at LT could have hurt his development? -
Tebow won't be selected until round 5 or if at all A poor wonderlick and a terrible throwing motion should be then end of him With Cleveland getting rid of Quinn I think they are targetting Clausen. McClain could be a bit of a reach here especially if Berry anf Bryant are still on the board. If so there should be trade down options. Wildcard pick - Pierre Paul I know he is listed at DE but a few mocks have him swithcing to OLB. He could be the bookend to Maybin at the OLB's spots. He has been projected to Cleveland in a few mocks.
-
Willis and Okoye were gone already in 2007 In 2008 the Bills passed on Deshaun Jackson in favor of Hardy. While the jury is still out on Hardy Jackson is a star. Maybin has a chance to be great at OLB. You can bang on the FO for drafting him and thinking he can be a DE but in an assbackwards way it could work out great. In 2010 the Bills have som many holes the only way they screw up the 9th pick is by taking Eric Berry, Tim Tebow, a CB or RB. Any player on the OL or DL or a LB is going to start day 1.

He sucks. Time to move on.
