  1. Chambers played pretty well last year and I think he's a little underappreciated
  2. Peters is gone, like it or not (and I prefer it) now where are we in the draft with many different needs. At pick 11 if the top two OT's are gone I would still consider moving to a pick as low as 22 and grab an additional pick and take Eben Britton with that pick (Britton would likely be a top 10 next year). With #28 if a top guy slips that far grab em, if not take a solid pick in a OG/OC Alex Mack or Eric Wood. 2nd- Best DE, OLB-Connor Barwin if he slips If 11 is traded down and we grab an additional 3rd that gives us Two 3rds-alot of good OL depth here-depending on the first two rounds Two 4ths-Flexibility GO BILLS
  3. I listened to the whole TO speech and he sounded surprisingly honest and like a pretty decent guy.
  4. Tim, Heading into the draft what do you think are the Bills top three needs and what round would you expect those postions to be addressed. Thanks
  5. Who was Littman and is he still working at 1 Bills Dr.? Currently I blame Modrak as one of the consistent factors.
  6. Good post- I also like JT Lang who can play OT or OG
  7. I hope we tap into the C crop this year its been far, far to long. I'd take Mack anywhere in the late first or second round-Wood also may be inth emix in the secong=d i doubt he will last till our third pick-Unger Who knows I'm guessing 2nd with him also
  8. 2009 Draft- Trade down from #11 even to Miami-if it gains an additional second rounder-Great late round guy available for the O-Line would be Alex Mack, best C in years and can play OG. Buffalo historically (since Modrak and the Donahoe era began) drafted specialist positions and neglected the O-Line. We obviously need to beef that area up especially if Peters is traded and we get an additional 1st and 3rd rounder and then traded down with #11 we could be looking at : 2-mid-late first rounders 2-second rounders and 2- third rounders. OT sleepers Eben Britton late 1st round (next year would be a top 10 pick and can play LT or RT and we get him a year early)or JT Lang in the late second, early third-Alex Mack would be available in the late 1st and pencil him in as starter from day #1. Peopl need to get off the Demetrius Bell bandwagon until the guys actually does something-give me an Alex Mack or Eben Britton anyday of the week.
  9. Modrak certainly doesnt invoke any type of grand respect during his time with the Bills-I think the Buddy Nix angle has to help a little.
  10. Take the picks- If we trade down with number 11 to say the Jets at 17 that would likely give us an additional pick in the third if we drop lower maybe a 2nd. Mini Mock Draft if we drop to 17 1A) LB Brian Cushing or Maulaluga-Maybe TE Pettigrew 1B) OT Eben Britton 2) C-Alex Mack Eric Wood or DE Connor Barwin 3A) OG or OT JTLang, Craig Urbik, Greg Isnader 3B) S-Patrick Chung
  11. I think Peters could gather us a #1 and an additional #2 or #3 depending on the team's draft order. I'd say go for it.
  12. Bills fans are some of the best in the world and whats impacting the Bills is the economy of Western NY that has dwindled every year for the last decade. I see the Niagara-Buffalo Bills option as the way to keep the team in the area and also assist the economy which is the main issue in the first place. You cant tell me that the Blimp shot with the Falls in the background wouldnt make that the best stadium in the country and increase tourism and give Western NY a chance to promote itself. The sleazy politicians certainly have not supported this community. There should be two tax bases one for NYC and one for the rest of the state
  13. The economy is the same? look at all the tourist money that is spent on the Canadian side the US side see's barely a trickle. The area itself looks like the shared area between El Paso Texas and Juarez Mexico-with us being the Juarez side. I think having a stadum in the Niagara area is a no brainer-it would be the only stadium of any size in that region gathering US, Canadian and Tourist $$$. Bottom line we have one of the Seven Natural Wonders and have done squat with it. Imagine the publicity you would get from the blimp shot of the stadium with Niagara Falls in the background, tourists would come to the ara and see a game, use the stadium as a concert venue, see the fingerlake wine region, spend some $$$ in the local community and we do nothing on the US side but complain about the economy of Western NY (and it is bad). Being from NY I understand the lack of political pull, because of all money the being sucked out of the region and funneled to NYC-Take action, complain to those local politicians, there hasnt been a good political leader in that area in ages. I pull for Western NY and see the Niagara/Buffalo/Western NY Bills surviving if the stadium is moved and I see it as an opportunity for some economic prosperity that has been sorely lacking in the area. Finally there is not any big fancy hotels or buildings to demolish inthe area because the US side (NYC politicians and there lack of foresight) hasnt done anything for that area outside of the Maid of the Mist. Support the local businesses and region at least Genesee Brewery supports some local jobs-I'm not sure how many Western NY'ers work for Miller Light or Labbats.
  14. Given, Peters played well his first starting year, but name another player who did that. I can name virtually every other practice squad player who did NOT start his second year. If you were a gambling man the odds of success would be minimal at best.
  15. I agree if Peters wants to price himself out then trade him if you can get a first and additional fist day pick. I disagree with the posts stating Demetrius Bell should be a starter, the guy was on the practice squad last year. If Peters is gone we should take one of the OT's in the draft this year-Maybe Eben Britton to compete with Chambers. Chambers played better at OT than OG last year. We would still need to take an OG/C the first day and I'm opimistic that we can find one throught the draft that would be a better starter than Bell.
  16. he will be 24 this season
  17. Thumbs down to the NFL on these two points-and if someone can clarifiy #2 let me know. 1) Now the NFL is all of a sudden changing the way QB's are hit during a lunge ala the new "Brady Rule"-While it doesnt necessarily bother me to much it's just another example of the league showing blatant favoritism to their favorite son. What about throwing Vince "Cheap Shot" Wilfork out of the game and suspending him for his blatant elbow lunge to JP Losman that almost ruined his career and sent him to the bench. I'm not a Losman QB fan but Wilfork has been given a free pass for years. 2) The Pats now have THREE picks in the SECOND and extra picks in the 3rd, 5th and 6th because of cempensatory picks. -Does anyone know why they were given the extra picks? Talk about the strong getting stronger.
  18. Thanks Tim, not trying to slice atoms but do the succesful teams-ie' Colts, Pats and Steelers allow their respective Modrak counterparts to live outside of the area they work in. I'd be curious, not sure if they follow the practice of the Jets and Bills.
  19. He wants to be the highest paid OT in the league, how much would you pay him? 8.5 would be a fair and competitive salary. He just did not perform last year as good as several other OT's. I question his work ethic and desire for the game now more than ever.
  20. How much would you pay him, do you believe he should be the highest OT in the game? I feel a raise to 8.5 puts him is fair and dont forget we still have him under contract for the next two years.
  21. I agree and the facts are that 6o% of their starters have been picked in the top three rounds-Mankins being taken with the last pick in the first. There is considerable value for OG and C's in the second and third rounds-Hopefully Buffalo starts to take one or two of these positons in those rounds every few years, and yes the later picks and undrafted guys CAN sometimes pan out. I thinkthe highest drafted OL in recent memory has been Brad Butler (and thats a 5th rounder). This year there's alot of good talent especially at the C position I hope we get in the mix-Hangartner can play OG also
  22. The Bills have neglected the OL in the draft for the last decade. My opinion of the OL last year: OG Brad Butler was picked in the 5th and has played well the only negative is his injury history. Well worth what he is paid. Solid starter and should be better this year. OG Dockery-Overpaid, good move he's gone-The beauty of the OG and C spots are that you can find the top rated players, (many whom start the first year and play well) in the second and third rounds of the draft, they dont get picked higher but pan out usually pretty well. Looks like a rookie may start for us and hopefully perform like several other OG have the first year-ie' Logan Mankins, Chris Snee etc. C-Preston and Fowler both gone-no tears-Geoff Hangartner now-Will be an upgrade-This years C posititon is loaded, I hope Mack falls to us in the second. Hangartner can play OG also which gives the OL flexibility. OT-Walker, Played well and in many ways out performed Peters. Solid RT and played well at LT when Peters sat. OT-Peters-Million dollar question-If he doesnt take 8.5 Million a year AND sign for an additional year look at trading him. If we got a two firsts or one 1st and a 2Nd and an additional pick the next year I'd consider doing it. The guy played well but was NOT a pro-bowler. Fact is many of the rookie OT outplayed him last year-Long and Clady were both superior. Could be a rookie starter and/or Walker at the spot. Chambers played well in reserve and better at the OT spot than at OG. If the Peteres trade happend I'd love to see this 1)LB's Cushing or Mauluaga-or DE Brown or Orakapo-DT Raji 1B) OTEben Britten 2) C Alex Mack or top rated OG on the board 2) DE Connor Barwin 3) TE-Coffman
  23. Pettigrew, Mack and Barwin
  24. Tim two quick questions 1) The Bills allow Tom Modrak to live in Florida year round-To what degree do you feel that allowing a leader in the Bills organization to live outside the community adversely effects the team? I would think most succesful teams would not allow a vital cog to be away from the day to day operations to this degree and I dont see how it would HELP that organization. 2) If the Bills do not sign a G or C in the offseason, what round do you think they will draft one in and will they take advantage of the deep center class? Thanks great job-Really appreciate the time you put in!
