  1. You eradicate a loser mentality by winning.. not by going 4-12 and 6-10. The fans on this board have a right to pessimistic until this team proves it can win.
  2. Vince Young is not a good QB..
  3. Does it bother anyone that the model franchise in the NFL, the steelers, is unwilling to pay Mike Wallace a large, long term contract? Trading for wallace raises too many questions.. i don't like it. You don't trade high draft picks for players and become a contender.. when has that worked out?
  4. I used to love watching McGee return kicks.. man he was good.
  5. He isn't fast but he is quick, especially in his cuts and fakes. He also uses change of speed really well. He also seems really unorthodox, which is why I'm having a hard time finding someone to compare him to.
  6. Unfortunately for us, Brady is not getting any worse with his age and could play for another 5 years at this level without really surprising anyone.. As far as his WRs go, I really don't think it matters a whole lot who is lining up for them outside. Brady turns average receivers into good ones and good receivers into great ones. Plus he's got those TEs locked up. I hope you're right about the pats being done after brady.. I'm worried that this team is going to get lucky with another stud QB.
  7. I think its way to early to pass judgement on Kuechly or Gilmore.. I bet if you asked 100 bills fans if they would trade Gilmore for Kuechly, 5 would say yes. But.. I bet if you asked 100 panthers fans if they would trade Kuechly for Gilmore, only 2 would say yes. Every fan gets attached to their own players..
  8. I'm not sure being "roscoe parish 2.0" is a good thing...
  9. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d82ad9ba4/article/cleveland-browns-owner-lerner-confirms-investor-negotiations It says in the article that the Browns will stay in Cleveland.. but I wonder if there's a possibility that they end up being the team that moves to LA.
  10. I'd rather have Romo or Rivers than Fitz. They might not have won in the playoffs yet.. but they've proved to be elite regular season quaterbacks. Lets not forget, Peyton Manning didn't win in the playoffs until he was in his 9th year. Both Romo and Rivers have only been starters for 6 years.
  11. I'm with you there.. I finally feel like this team is headed in the right direction and I couldn't be happier.
  12. Need to have Schobel, Pat Williams, Winfield, Clements Fletcher and Spikes.. Overall: LE Schobel DT Williams DT Dareus RE Williams LOLB Spikes MLB Fletcher ROLB Barnett CB Winfield FS Bird SS Wilson CB Clements
  13. You framed that well, I think its a really good way to look at it. Personally I think both Flacco and Sanchez are below elite, but I think of the 2 very differently. I don't think you'll find someone lower than I am on Mark Sanchez. I think he is incapable of bringing a team to a superbowl and is far away from being clutch. I don't think he'll get very much better and I absolutely would not want him on my team. Flacco is another story. Flacco hasn't really been asked to do a lot in the Raven offense so far in his career, but I'm willing to bet that changes this year. He's 6'6" and has a cannon for an arm. He's been good as a game manager but showed in the playoffs last year that he can come up big in big games (2 games, 480 yds, 4 TDs, 1 INT). Don't forget, he lead a game tying drive at the end of the patriots game and Cundiff completely whiffed on the kick. The ravens were very close to getting to the superbowl last year. If you compare Flacco and Sanchez head to head its no contest. Flacco is clearly the better QB. If I could trade Fitz for Flacco right now, I'd do it in a heartbeat. To answer your question, I think Fitz would have performed better than sanchez, but not better than Flacco. Either way, I don't think Fitz would have a ring right now if he had instead been on the Jets or the Ravens.
  14. For the record I am not high on Flacco... I'm not sure if you were talking about me
  15. I dont think Flacco or Sanchez are viewed as elite.. and they've both had post season success.
  16. Nobody expected the Bills to be a playoff team. No one expected them to beat the Pats, let alone the raiders. There's a huge difference between regular season and playoffs. Of course Fitz wanted to win and tried to win.. he just didnt have the pressure or expectation of doing so. I'm sure that allowed him to play pretty loose and just sling the ball around. Besides, in the Pats game, the defensive did 90% of the work as far as getting the team back in the game. Fitz didn't have to make any spectacular throws (he made 1 great throw to Jones down the sideline) and everybody stepped up. Either way you're missing my point. Regular season comebacks dont necessarily translate into playoffs comebacks. Well how about this.. Tony Romo has 13 4th quarter come backs and 14 game winning drives in his career during the regular season. How has that translated to the playoffs? Almost every QB that starts all 16 games of a season will have a comeback win or a game winning drive.. that doesn't mean they can do it in the playoffs. Tony Romo is a great example.. thanks for bringing him up.
  17. Doing it in the regular season is great. Weeks 2 and 3 when you have no pressure or expectations are nice, but I don't think that just translates into down 5 with 2 minutes left in the AFC Championship.
  18. My issue is.. at some point Fitz will have to lead a game winning drive or a comeback from double digits down. Eli Manning had to do it several times throughout the playoffs to win the superbowl last year. Fitz can ride his defense all year, but will he be able to get it done when it really counts?
  19. Jeese why do people bag on Eli for that superbowl and give Tyree all the credit for that catch. Eli did 99% on that play by escaping the pocket and putting in a great place between like 5 defenders and Tyree just caught it (granted it was a great catch). Eli deserves a lot more credit for that drive. Thats what makes him elite. He came up big when the game was on the line. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27XeNefwABw
  20. hahahaha YES
  21. But how much will they really get the ball?
  22. Well my point is.. I dont think the injuries really hurt them that much because that position on the offense was insignificant. The combined 4th receiver of the Bills did just as much as the combined 4th receiver of the Bengals.. which was very little.
  23. The point I was trying to make is that it doesn't matter who your 4th receiving option is. They have little impact on the game regardless. No matter who was the "number 2 receiver" out of the group you described (jones, roosevelt, easley), they likely would have been behind Johnson, Nelson and Chandler in terms of targets and impact. Similarly, whoever the 4th Bengal option was, they would have been behind Green, Simpson and Gresham in targets and impact. Yes the bills did have more trouble with injuries, but their top 3 targets were unaffected. Whoever was playing the second outside receiver spot was not going to have a huge impact. You cannot count lee evans because the team traded him and received value back. You also cant discount CJ as a "second year back" because he played very well and plenty of RBs are very effective in their second years. You clearly arent getting the point I'm trying to make.. that the 4th receiving option, has very little impact on a game.
  24. So if the 4th receiving option is on the field 50% of the time (I think that number is high by the way), the quaterback probably only throws to them about 5% of the plays that they're on the field. That makes their impact in the offense around 2.5%. Very insignificant if you ask me. The truth is, the 4th receiving option on a team means very little in determining the outcome of the game. I bet you can't think of more than 4 4th receiving options of all the 32 NFL teams (RBs dont count). There's a reason for that... they dont matter. What you're doing right now is nitpicking. I dont think you can ignore the fact that they went 4-12 the next year. You conveniently left that out of the post. Also they lost TO, Ocho, Palmer, their starting RG and RT and their 3rd receiver. If you're keeping score, thats 6 key offensive positions that changed. That was not a talented offensive team before Dalton and Green arrived last year.
