  1. Hey Nostradamus, wanna wait till this season ends to start your lock picks for next year. Christ, why even play the games? Besides everyone knows that parity doesn't exist in the NFL. Things like free agency, draft, injuries, and experience I guess don't figure into your calculations. Before you come back with the same old "we can't win with Jauron" response save it. It gets old and way over the top.
  2. If we got McNabb, this team immediately improves drastically. I'm not sure how anybody could dispute that. You are replacing a below average QB with a HOF QB. Trent might be above average someday but he's not going to ever sniff the HOF. McNabb most likely has 4-6 good years left and for once we could have stability at the position. He has very little in common with Bledsoe. Drew was on the brink of a meltdown in NE when he got hurt, and Donovan just led his team to a NFC championship game. I'd it for one first rounder in a heartbeat, but no more than one. We would have the best QB situation in the AFC East going into next year. How long has it been since that happened? As far as the coaching goes, why try next year right? We could start cutting players because the coaching sucks I guess.
  3. Hey Ramius whats your take on Everette Brown? You probably got the most knowledge about him.
  4. Thanks for the info! I'm glad to hear he showed some different looks. I'm starting to come around to this kid. I was curious to see Rhett Bomar, just based on his freshman hype. His game didn't sound so spectacular. I really hope the bills take a look at one of these kids and White is starting to sound like the best of the bunch.
  5. I like Orakpo too but I think Brown will be better. I'm just guessing that Brown will raise his stock to top ten. Who knows it's a crapshoot.
  6. Sounds like fun I'll start. Malcolm Floyd WR , Brian Orakpo DE, and James Casey TE
  7. Your game here and game there, doesn't out weigh their HOF careers. Warner and Manning make their money being able to beat the blitz. Along with Brady the two of them are the best in league. Mcnabb is not amongst the best in the league at beating the blitz but he is not horrible and he is also HOF bound. You are so far off it's not even funny.
  8. You look at things in a proactive manner Alpha. I'm with you in the hopes of Edwards being the franchise QB but why not have a backup plan? Would it be so bad if we found a gem in the draft and he beat out Edwards for the starting job? Would it be so bad if it pushed Edwards to better play? I don't get the problem.
  9. Three games does not prove your point either. In fact, what is your point? No one has said he is done and not the answer. The point others are trying to make is that he has looked good and bad. At one time the same could have been said about losman for that matter. What is the big deal about wanting to have another young QB in camp? I mean just on the off chance he's not Manning, right? God forbid Trent have any competition! The Bills could always bring in the veteran lifelong backup to do the job of the qb coach. Who's going to coach him when Trent goes down? This franchise has suffered through to many project quarterbacks. Keep drafting until you get it right. Why not bring in 2 or 3? Maybe even let the best one start.
  10. Trent has played well enough at times to give us hope that he could be a capable starter. At other times he has looked outclassed and limited. The team should see this as a question mark and get a legit young QB as a backup plan. I can't see bringing in a veteran QB for mentoring. We need a veteran who can play, Edwards, and a good prospect. I've said it before, we should be taking QB's middle to late every year and hoping we hit the jackpot. The days of waiting and waiting for a QB to develop seem to be over. Immediate success at the position can be had. I also think that Edwards hinders the coaching just as much they hinder him.
  11. Does anyone find it hard to believe that fans who have no interest in the offseason, log into TBD during the offseason? Some of you who spout your negativity and threaten to stop being a fan, are here on a daily basis. I understand everyone's distain for the coaching, and realize that he has a losing record. Get over it! The owner and coach are staying the same, and no amount of whining is going to change it. DJ has more than his share of bad playcalling but the team did do some nice things throughout the year. As far as you clowns who are already making predictions for the upcoming season, take that garbage somewhere else. It's blatant self -pity and embarassing. Buffalo has a NFL team and many larger markets don't, so start there if you need something to be proud of. Some of you act like we are the Pittsburgh Pirates and have no shot before the season starts. I know the record of the team over the past ten years and obviously it's poor. The bills have been in the playoff hunt a few times over that span and weren't quite the doormat some believe. Everyone's entitled to have an opinion but some don't know when to quit crying. The ones who do nothing but bash the team now will be the ones who mourn the loudest when they are gone. Go have your Bill's memorial somewhere else or let's talk football.
  12. I don't want to even think about Raji because of the letdown it will be when he's picked before us. It would be like Pat Willis all over again. He's off my big board.
  13. The problem is a running quarterback that can throw is a disaster in the nfl. A passing quarterback who can run is a threat. Pat White was run first at Wes Virginia and those tendencies to tuck and go early are tough to break. I don't know how he goes through his progressions and what his reads are like. I didn't see him have to display these skills to much in college. It doesn't mean he can't though, and it sounds like he had nice senior bowl. What did he look like stats aside? Did he make throws to different levels? Was he under pressure? I didn't see the game and was curious about his performance. If someone saw it, could I get a little description of his play? Thanks in advance
  14. You can't put too much stock into the senior bowl when it comes to wideouts and QB's. It is very similar to the first week of training camp, when no ones on the same page. Another example would be the second half of our season.
  15. It's good to see some optimism around here. The bills fanbase deserves a good season. The team crashed for lots of reasons I'm sure but depth certainly had something to do with it. Jauron is not a dumb man but he is on his last legs and we will see!
  16. You are correct on the Pats and the pain that comes from giving them credit. I think we can both agree the machine runs best with a blend of veterans, youth, and smarts throughout. I happen to agree with you that we aren't as far off as some believe. I guess people have a right to be negative, all things considered.
  17. These smart veteran players were once bright eyed rookies and many of them homegrown. Scouting and coaching is a premium with the Pats and here it's an afterthought. If they really like derek fine they will stay put at TE this offseason. Either way he probably stays on the roster and gets more involved next year, which will benefit him greatly. In a small market nothing means as much as the draft. This years draft will dictate the direction the team moves in the next 2-3 years.
  18. Okay then bring in a veteran and draft two QB's! I say promise nothing to any of them and let them all battle for roster positions. Trent should have huge lead on all of them and be the opening day starter but let's see. We owe nothing to any of them! You give the benefit of doubt to franchise QB's who have proven themselves over and over again.
  19. I hope you are correct about the talent we have on the team but I don't see it. We have some nice players but are a still behind top tier teams. I agree that coaching is just as important as talent. The notion that the Pats are an average veteran team is as far off as any estimation I've seen here. They are getting older sure but are still performing at a high level. As far as looking at the draft and free agency, do you want us to skip it? I don't really get the point of saying let's stay put. Do older guys with coaching backgrounds not like the draft?
  20. I definately hear ya on avoiding a QB controversy again. At the same time if someone can't handle the heat of a rookie backup how will he lead a team to the playoffs. I like Trent, and I want him to succeed. I also want competition, insurance, and a chance at a great QB. Whether it's early or late I think we both agree QB should be addressed. Teams should follow the Packers example and play the QB lottery every year.
  21. Everyone wants Suggs and Peppers, but what makes you think we will start competing for the highest level free agents? It would absolutely be the best option but not likely. Be prepared for an early DE somewhere in the draft and cross your fingers.
  22. I agree that we are looking for a backup. With that being said this team would be well served to get a backup with starter upside. Regardless of where you stand on Trent I think almost everyone will agree he isn't a surefire franchise quarterback. We need a backup that has real starter potential. We shouldn't wait take a wait and see approach if a quarterback we like is still available. Personally, I'd go QB early and take starter material.
