  1. In an earlier thread last week I mentioned that I thought that this was the best offensive line that we have had in well over a decade and to my surprise there were some people who had disagreed.

From my perspective, this is the best and most well balanced offensive line we have had since our Super Bowl days.   This offensive line can both run and pass block and it's not just advanced scouting or stats but they pass the eye ball test.

    - 1st in Sacks allowed at only 1.4 sacks given up per game

    - 9th in pressures allowed at 18.3%

    - 7th in Yards Per Carry

    - 6th in rushing yards per game

    - 6th in rushing TDs per game

PFF has the Bills as one of the top units

Keep in mind that our rushing yards isn't just a Josh Allen story like it had been the past few years but from our RB's.

I just don't think we need to actively look to upgrade the offensive line this offseason.  I do think Spencer Brown is our future RT and has shown a lot of improvement this year.

I think looking for Mitch Morse eventual replacement would be the only position aside from depth upgrades the Bills need to go after this offseason with the line.

I gasped and my heart momentarily stopped when I read: "we don't need to actively upgrade it [the OL] next year."

I don't care about analytic ratings which I don't believe.  In my eyes, this line improved from bad to average.  That's progress and I'm grateful.  But you don't win a Lombardi with average position groups.  When our best player is our QB, I want a line that keeps him upright & healthy while giving him time to find an open receiver.

I hear ya, I don't see it that way.  Run blocking has been good this year and so has the pass blocking, at least the way I see it.

  3. - Von Miller was playing without his brace this game and even though he started off the game vs the Chiefs ineffective, he was a difference maker in the latter parts of the game.  He had a key pressure which should have been an in the grasp sack against Mahomes, he also an extremely important pressure on a 3rd and 7 near the goal line where he almost caused a fumble, which ended up leading to a FG.   I would argue the Von Miller that we saw in the 4th quarter was the Von Miller that we brought in to close out games.

    - Even though the Offensive line was gashed by pressures by the Chiefs, they were still effective in run blocking and this is the best offensive line we have had in well over a decade.  I like this O-line and I don't believe we need to look to actively upgrade it next year.

    - James Cook is becoming the real deal, it is a bit of a mystery that we stopped using him midway through the 3rd quarter, but Brady has brought out the reason why he was seen as a potential blue chip NFL prospect.  His elusiveness, speed, vision, route running and his ability to break tackles tells me that he can get 15-20 touches a game and the Bills should look to take advantage of that.

    - Something seems off with Diggs.  I have never seen him ask to be taken out for breathers/or what have you as much as I have seen over the past month.  His productivity has dropped and he was not able to get himself open against Sneed.  Maybe he has an undisclosed injury but he's not been the same Diggs we have seen over the past year.

    - Gabe is way too inconsistent, even though Josh totally missed him on a play that was setup with those WR bubble screens and he had an easy TD.  Aside from that, when he plays against top end DB's, he is a non factor.  I think part of it is on Josh where he just doesn't even look his way because I believe he's lost confidence in him.

    - The Bills need to draft a WR with their top pick, lots of really good WR's are available to be had and we not only need a #2 but an eventual replacement to Diggs and now is the time.

    - McDermott actually changed up the aggressiveness of the D late in the game and it paid off, so kudos for him for that. However, the clock management was terrible.  With that said, a big reason for that debacle near the 2 minute warning was Diggs fault. That bubble screen was viewed like a handoff and if he catches that he probably gets a few yards and it goes to the two minute warning.  It probably impacted the next call as well.  Brady had to make the decision after the drop, they are facing a 2nd and 10, he's probably thinking if we can get the 1st down we win, Chiefs won't get the ball back.  With that 2nd and 10 he calculated the best way to close out the game was to get that 1st down and passing was the best option and it didn't work out.

    - The Bills could easily be a 10-3 team right now, but we've allowed games to slip through our fingers too much.  With that said, if we can beat the Cowboys, there is a good chance that the Bills could actually win the division and be one of the AFC favorites to reach the Super Bowl.  None of the AFC teams scare me, the Ravens I think are probably the best of the bunch but they are beatable.

I can see it both ways here. The Bills certainly don't look like the dominant team of the past. However, they are dangerous and capable of going on a huge run. Hope it's not too late. I'm happy next week is a meaningful game.

The AFC seems more wide open then ever.

Thats what gives hope for the Bills going far in the playoffs.

who are the top teams in the AFC?

    Chiefs?  We can beat them

Dolphins? We have show we can beat them

Raven?  They may be playing the best in the AFC and they aren’t world beaters.

  5. It’s becoming quite clear to me that we need to go after a WR with our 1st round pick.   Gabe is not the answer at the #2 and at some point in the not so distant future Diggs won’t be a high end #1.

Another high end WR and quality DT should be off season priorities.

No doubt I'll get hammered for this take but....

    1. O-line got mauled.

    2. D-line fell off the cliff again in the second half. Zero sacks.

    3. Receivers MIA.

Pyrrhic victory. We're not threatening the top teams with this level of play.

We just beat a top team who happens to be the Super Bowl champions, led by Mahomes, in KC and them coming off a loss in which they’ve never lost back to back games with Mahomes at the helm.   What are you talking about?

If you took out the name, Newsom and you put in the name Trump, this would actually be true

Well, I think that your opinion is incorrect

Gavin Newsom went into enemy territory and made DeSantis look stupid

Well, his book burning for one

    Which book burning?

    Give me an example

My criticism is not about what i personally find offensive. It is about what i think is a good or bad political move on a debate stage.

There are books written for 2 year olds about poop and i bet you will find many in libraries. Which kinda highlights my point - the poop map was childish and makes DeSantis look weak at best, poopy at worst.

If you don't believe there was plenty of substance to the debate and you want to focus on a poop bag rather than all the stats he was rattling off then that means you came into with a preconceived dislike for him and no matter what he was going to say you wouldn't support.

There are plenty of voters like you who don't really care about the cultural issues that helps create the rot in our societies and as a father of two girls that are in school, I care very deeply about all the things that schools and corporations are doing to inject ideologies that aren't rooted in science and that are created to help indoctrinate these minds into believing things such as Critical Race theory, faux DEI concepts, transgendered males competing against women, corporations attempting to run roughshod over politicians and a number of other things.

I'm Floridian, so I'm biased for DeSantis but I can tell you this, I was never biased for Rick Scott, Jeb Bush, Charlie Crist back when he was a Republican.  What DeSantis did during COVID and all the bold items that he promised and delivered on, I'm thankful.  I feel like what he was able to accomplish specially COVID that I am indebted to him.

He'll very likely lose and Trump will be the nominee, but I am 100% convinced he would end up being a much more disciplined, energetic, organized and effective executive than anyone else running on either side of the aisle.

It’s literally the only issue that Gavin lost

There was an entire debate, you know

Yes newsome destroyed desantis and he wasn’t even telling the truth all the time. Some of his numbers are off.

    No one truly believes that.

Newsom was massacred.  He didn’t answer hardly any of the questions, he deflected and all he could do was lie and hurl personal insults.

Gavin lost and he cried about it afterwards.  People would rather move to Florida than California thats just a fact.

  10. DeSantis wiped the floor with Newsom, it wasn't even close.

Every time Newsom was confronted with facts, he went off on a tangent with left wing talking points..

The debate was over before it even began, the proof is in the pudding.

Florida is near the top in education

Running budget surpluses and paying off Debt

Much better crime rate than California

    Much less homelessness

    Much lower unemployment rate

    Net migration numbers

GOP registrations are soaring while Democratic registration is plummeting.

Helped change the entire immigration conversation along with Greg Abbott by sending illegals to Martha's vineyard and New York

Got rid of Soros DA's for dereliction of their duties

Didn't allow Woke corporations to steam roll them, instead now you have Bob Iger from Disney groveling and regretting their stance against Florida

stopped Blackrock from imposing DEI in the state and now they've backed down

The list goes on and on and on.

But hey, Newsom has slick hair and talks well.

    We get what we deserve.

Today was like clockwork. It's a shame. I'll forever be grateful for McDermott for making us a real team again. But it's over.

    This is where I am.

We need a proven winner, Belichek is who I’d like.   But Pegula won’t move on from McD

We faced Swift last year and didn’t have too much trouble with him.

We also have a good record of containing top WRs, excluding Justin Jefferson.

Douglas and Benford are the right kind of larger, disciplined and more physical type DB's to match up well against Brown.   I like that matchup.
