You can be sick of it all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that character matters

along with consistent execution. There have been plenty of talented folks who haven't lived up to their potential.

Oh, so the problem they had was the messaging rather than their coaching? Got it. I swear, the idiotic things that I read here is even worse than ppp

Bills trade Sammy Watkins to Rams for CB Gaines, 2nd rd pick
Magox replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From my recollections, SW was an ok teammate. Never really caused any troubles aside from a twitter/fb rant or two, which really isn't "trouble" perse. He seemed to put his head down and was a professional on and off the field. Didn't really display any sort of leadership skills that I heard of but wasn't a pariah either. However, it does it appear from all accounts that Matthews is a really good locker room type of guy who was a leader on his team willing to bend over backwards for his teammates. Throw that in with his good production, I would say that this is the sort of thing that factored into McD's/Bean's decision. -

This is the response you'd expect from someone who'd start a thread called "Now that the Bills suck, what will you be watching this year" -

Not just actresses but alot of idealists who want to break free from whatever town they grew up from. For many it's a chance to rebrand themselves into something new. Even though it is a very liberating lifestyle for many, the vast majority of my California peeps are all collectivists as well and they love that sense of community among with one another. My friends are mainly from the hippyesqe side of things but there are lots of them put there and most are transplants -
What record to start the season ends the honeymoon?
Magox replied to without a drought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There will be no honey moon. There are already a decent amount of fans who are upset with the way Beane/McD are reshaping this team the way they envision it to be and that involved getting rid of Whaley and Watkins which definitely had their defenders among fans. So to win those people back they will have to earn it. However on the other hand there is also a contingency of fans that believe there is actually a clear purpose behind McD/Beane who will most likely give the benefit of the doubt and time realiz9ng that this is a rebuild of the franchise. My guess is that it will get ugly at first and hopefully we steadily improve throughout the season and that best year we hit it out the park with the draft -

So his production was analogous to a low end car. Got it -
Ok, so you don't know what that word means

Bills trade Ronald Darby for WR Jordan Matthews, 3rd rd pick

By all accounts it appears the Bills are picking up one hell of a selfless teammate and leader. -

He was being facetious -
Sounds just like the sort of guy that McD values. Even though I'm guessing that type of player would be valued by just about any coach.

Who are you going to watch now that Bills suck
Magox replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What a contrived and pathetic thread. I'm generally not the sort of person that is in favor of shutting down threads, but if I did have to choose one from today, this would be the one. -
If you are going to apply anecdotal instances to make your argument, then I'm afraid I'm not going to take your answer too seriously. If you look at the past two seasons in it's totality, you would recognize that he has had 37 T.D's vs 14 Int's with a 63% completion average and 92 QB rating. Not to mention that he led the league in Rushing for QB's and he helped "game manage" his team to a top 10 scoring offense. That is the epitome of a "game manager"
-
That's the point that I'm trying to make, there may be another team that could be desperate enough and system fit to make such a trade for T.T

Who will be shipped out next?
Magox replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as I loved Ragland at Alabama and had such high hopes for him, I'd venture to guess they are actively shopping him around. They'd be lucky to get a 4th for him. -
I'd agree with that, but I never thought that Bradford could get a 1st and a 3rd. And even though T.T is not a first round graded QB, that is for sure. Some other team based on their needs and where they are positionally to make a run in the playoffs may be willing to overpay for a QB, understanding that their window of opportunity is shrinking.
-
I won't pretend to know what Elway is thinking, but they have a defense that is ready to win championships right now. And TT has shown himself to be a good game manager. I wouldn't be surprised if they attempted to trade for T.T thinking that he may provide them the best chance at a potentially available QB to be had that could help them make a push deep into the playoffs.

So you're saying in regards to his on-the-field playmaking ability. I haven't seen enough of Matthews to make any real determination of him. I look at his YPC and it's definitely nothing eye opening. But on the other hand, he has had pretty good production in regards to catches, yards, durability and has had decent TD numbers throughout his first 3 years. Definitely much better than Robert Woods. I think if you were to try to fully and more accurately analogize what Matthew's career has been in terms to cars, I'd say he's probably a dependable Infiniti Yep. I mean at this stage of the game and the high 2nd round pick they gave up, I'd hope that he would be. Plus, they do have a hopeful franchise QB and they probably want to give him all the tools necessary to succeed. If Watkins remains healthy, could end up being a decent deal for them. Right. -

If I have one criticism of the trade is that they probably could have gotten more for Watkins had they exercised his option. To Beane's defense, I believe he wasn't here though when that decision was made. However, that is an argument of hindsight and in the interview from the GM of the Rams they did say that they initiated the trade talks once Watkins wasn't optioned, so they may never have attempted to trade for him had he been optioned. -
Define the philosophy: first offseason

From the perspective of McD/Beane "We are going to build this team through the draft and we are gonna do it our way."
