It didn't matter whether they lost or gained weight. Neither can get to the qb. They're just not good enough.
The Bills have had a substantially below average OL since McD took over 6 years ago. I think the last thing he values on this team is OL.
The Bills allocation of resources has been right on, IMO. They’ve spent decently on the OL. The problem is that their ROI has been poor. Same for the DL.

This is all pretty obvious. I think it’s clear the defense needs to be better up front and more aggressive. But I wonder what change in running game style he is thinking about. I suspect he wants them to replace Singletary with a big back and run more of a power running game, but that’s just a guess based on his previous teams.

Let it be true? What are you nuts. This guy won the last 2 MVPs and you want him in our division with a great defense and amazing young WR's??
Yup. The Bills defense needs to face some good QBs on a regular basis instead of the clowns in the AFCE. Maybe that way they won’t look like deer in headlights when Mahomes or Burrow come to town. Plus he’d be a heck of a lot more fun to watch twice a year than Mike White.

I know, it was aggravating to watch. Whether it's players or scheme I'd like to see Josh under less duress.
I think the Bills need to decide on what scheme they want to run offense next year before making decisions on players. If they want to continue the “run more and throw deep” approach, then they definitely need more deep speed, a better OL overall and probably another RB. If they want to get back to the short passing game then I think they need another slot guy, a TE and a new OG.

I believe the structure upon hiring Beane was that both he and McD would report directly to Pegula.
kind of unique , but any firing would be his call.
This was my understanding as well. They’re basically equal in the hierarchy. Not that anyone is getting fired anyway.

Bengals will be a tough matchup. If I had to put a number on it, I’d say 45% chance for the Bills to win it. They really need their A game in all three phases to pull it out, IMO.

They have HAD to be simple... Look at the QB's he has had to deal with. Alex Smith, Kaepernick, Tyrod Taylor and Lamar freaking run first Jackson.
This is just conjecture. Bottom line is that he has never had a good passing game and this is a passing league, so anyone hiring him to lead a modern offense would be gambling big time.

Maybe Shady coached him how to hold the ball 😛
Oddly, I don’t remember McCoy fumbling much.

Every Interception charged to Josh Allen is 100% his fault as the narrative goes
Or none of them are, depended on who is talking.

Holy **** I just saw Allen got sacked 7 times. That has to be a record for him?
Miami did a great job with their rush. Blitzed and played man, but didn’t allow a single explosive run by Allen and actually managed to sack him in the pocket most of the time.

McDermott needs to know ahead of time how plays will turn out so he doesn't call time out when plays go our way.
It would be best if they were prepared before the play so that he didn’t feel the need to call TO to not get caught with the their pants down. Also, the timeout seems to have no bearing on whether the ensuing play is stopped or not.
-
Timeouts by both teams were terrible. Really need to save those in the second half for the end of the game.

I have no issue with BPA in round 1. We need another play maker on this team and it doesn't matter where they line up. If need and BPA are relatively aligned, OL and WR before Dline.
I think Beane’s concept is to be proactive and trade up or down if necessary so that the BPA aligns with their needs as a team.

Yup. Cook is going to be a stud imo. He his instincts are off the charts. So are Motors but Cook is much faster.
Like to see this combo stay together for a few years
I have a feeling they’re going to move on from Singletary once his contract expires and look for a bigger back to compliment Cook.

They likely called it according to the rule referring to a "reverse chop", but suggesting that Dawkins actually engaged with the rusher is a significant stretch.
It was a borderline call. You don’t actually have to touch the guy to be “engaged” as long as you’re squared off with him and drawing his attention, but the defender was pretty much clear of Dawkins and saw Cook coming all the way so I don’t know…

He won't get one this offseason for sure. Next year depends on how he plays.

McDermot/Frazier need to figure out their defense because right now it won't be good enough
I don't think it's the coaching. I don't know how much better the defense can play with the injuries they're dealing with.

May be they give a W to both teams and allow the Bills the 1st round bye ot mentally re-group. Again, these games are so far away in the minds of the players...it really doesn't matter until Hamlin recovers. Prayers to Hamlin and his family. Go Bills !
Would be awesome but I seriously doubt it. Most likely they just record it like it is- no game played. Bills and Bengals play one fewer game and everything is based on win percentages. Stinks for the Bills and Cincinnati, but that's what happened so why make something else up?
-
Honestly, every other scenario besides just canceling the game seems far fetched to me. If you cancel the game you don’t disrupt dozens of schedules and you give the team a full week to get news and try to process what has happened before taking the field again. Playoff positions stay as is, which is disappointing for both Buffalo and Cincinnati but it is what it is.

Free agent WRs are getting paid insanely. I suspect the team drafts, and fairly highly, a WR. I hope he has elite speed to stretch the field and good hands; size is a bonus but not necessary with elite speed.
Safeties might be an option in free agency if the the staff likes someone younger than Poyer they think has upside. In fact, I would suggest they look to trade up and try and get as good a WR as possible.

Jim Johnson was McD’s mentor. Where’s his defense?

I think they started off that way but they have gotten less and less aggressive each year. It seems like a conscious change in concept.
