ACLS blow out with no contact when they’re ready… Every play in the NFL can cause an injury

Statistics show there is no more risk when Josh Allen leaves the pocket… It is way more dangerous to be hit stationary in the pocket

Then running 15 miles an hour and taking on smaller safeties and linebackers Where he could also brace himself… When he leaves the pocket he is almost never taking on someone bigger than him…he’s  6’5 250 pounds

He’s bigger than 95% of the linebackers and 100% of defensive backs… When he’s stationary in the pocket getting hit by 300 pound defensive tackles and 280 pound ends That’s when the scary injuries occur

Of course he could break his leg running.. But he could snap it in the pocket easier with all the bodies flying around him

I don't think I've seen any study that shows a correlation for more injuries inside the pocket or outside. As you say, you often take bigger hits in the pocket, but if you run you are hit 100% of the time (unless you score an uncontested TD I guess) whereas many passes from the pocket occur without getting significant contact.

I think he meant to say every game vs per game. I believe Barry Sanders has the record for most 100 yard games in a season, but it wasn’t every game.

I wonder how Barry would look running into those 6 man boxes and 2 deep zones that the Bills face every week? Instead of the 10 guys and specific game plan designed around stopping him. Just musing…

Coaches are always going to let players try and play if they can. Realistically you could probably make the case 50% of dudes who play with injuries aren't better than a healthy replacement but rarely do they sit them out of the player can go. This isn't a Bills thing, it's an NFL thing.

Additionally, point me to a team that has good OLine depth. Almost none do. Some don't even have quality starters. Been a huge issue in the NFL for many years now.

Both fair points, but if Bobby Hart isn’t better than what we saw on Thursday then what is he doing on an NFL roster? The coaches obviously don’t think he is, which is pretty damning.

I felt bad for him...he was obviously severely hobbled pretty much from the first series where he re-aggravated his ankle injury and had to get a massive tape job. Came back in to try and gut it out but obviously was not anything close to 100%. Gutsy effort from him, even if it wasn't a good performance.

I have to seriously question whether a 70% Quessenberry was the best OT the Bills could have put on the field. He was absolutely terrible. If so, then I think you do have to question what the Bills are doing with their OL roster.

1st I didn’t think he was trying to hurt Meyers. I thought he was just trying lay down a hit stick type hit. (Like you said to dislodge the ball). Meyers was trying to secure the catch with both hands..

I think the hit aggravated the shoulder injury that Meyers was playing through that he got last week.

This is exactly what the NFL is trying to stop. They want DBs to play pass defense by making plays on the ball.

So on the infamous play at the end of the Vikings game; with us literally on the inch line, is there any rule against us trying to get a hard count to draw them offside and just take the delay of game. Obviously they can’t push us any further back and we know they would be looking to force the safety.

    So would that be allowed?

    Sure. Why not?

Basham and Epenesa are both busts. I don't need to see anymore games to confirm that. Just disappointed we didn't draft OL to help Josh with those 2 picks.

It’s funny, because at draft time I read that Rousseau was a reach and Basham was a steal. Now it seems that Rousseau could have been top ten and Basham in the mid rounds.

He's forced to play because of injuries. He isn't a starter caliber CB.

Who is the other starter opposite White? The way they’re rotating Benford and Elam I’d say it’s going to be Jackson.

I was all about Dane last year and most of this year…the last 2 weeks have been embarrassing. Need Elam and White on the field

Elam is #3 right now, even before White returns. Benford is getting more reps than him and Jackson never comes off the field.

After a defense commits a 15 yard penalty on a touchdown or FG it moves the kickoff from the 35 to the 50. At this point you're guaranteed to kick it out of the end zone.

Why do teams never consider kicking an onside at this point? Field position would be at the 40 for the opposing team should they recover. A team with a good defense shouldn't fret over this, and the 15 yard difference on a touchback (25 yard line).

It would not be ideal in every game situation but if you are down 7-10 points against a poor offense it could make sense. So, should teams do it?

Would make sense if it was actually possible to recover an onside kick under the current rules. At this point, it would basically just be giving away field position.

I wouldn’t trust petersons yappin too much lol gabe Davis had him beat on that post route he was talking about and he knows it.  Josh just threw a terrible ball.
99% of the time that is a td or an incompletion but josh missed the throw so badly that he threw Peterson right back into the play.

vikings defense was absolutely embarrassing to close out regulation and in ot it’s a shame josh missed that throw so badly.  It was pretty surreal listening to them talk about their elite preparation after that game 😂. They left just about everything open on that final play but the decoy post route that we wanted them to cover haha

the problem with gabe doesn’t seem to be the route running to me…he gets open plenty he just is dropping too many passes and not making enough contested catches

Should have done some of that elite preparation before the Cowboys game.

I see a lot of posters mention "no tre" but could you imagine this D without Milano?

The drop off from starters to backups is pretty steep at several positions. Milano to Bernard. Edmunds to Dodson. Poyer to Johnson/Lewis. Those starters really need to play.

They did and it was like 52% in favor of open air. That may be true. But an old fogey like me is starting to really hate going to cold weather games. I've attended some of the coldest Bills games on record and I can't deal with it anymore.

I'm not one of those guys, but do you happen to have a link or know where to find it? I tried Googling it but I don't see any reference.
