Think that seals the deal for the Bills 1st round pick. I'd be surprised if it's a WR unless one falls in their lap. Unlikely since so many teams need a WR. I think it's the best available CB.

Plus McDermott has repeatedly said that WR is one of the positions where you can get impact players outside of the first round.

I am more impressed with the amount  of people that are at the "American Cornhole League" preliminary, that have nothing else to do.

Reminds me of the old ABC Wide World of Sports. There was some obscure stuff on there that was like the Super Bowl to the people involved and watching.

  3. PSLs are just another way for the super rich to skim money off everyone else. There is zero benefit to fans. They pay more, with new restrictions, for the same thing they’ve been getting up to now. This is so that the owners pay even less for a stadium that benefits them financially almost exclusively.

But as has been said, it’s supply and demand. If you want the supply, then you need to bend over.

It’s unethical. There’s very clearly a way you’re supposed to operate in these negotiations. Brandon Beane laid out exactly how teams are expected to handle themselves during his press conference. There are hundreds of these negotiations every year, this was clearly out of place.

The Commanders had every opportunity to match throughout the process of the negotiation PRIOR to McKissic accepting the deal. They told the agent that they didn’t want him back, but he continued to keep them in the loop because that’s what McKissic wanted. After the deal was agreed to, the Commanders even went as far as congratulating the agent on the deal with Buffalo when they were informed.

Then they went around the agent and lied to the player after telling the agent they didn’t want him back.

It’s a courtesy thing. Everyone is operating under the same rules, these verbal agreements mean teams tie up money in guys. Beane, being ethical withholds that money from other negotiations - it would be a bad look if he’s commiting McKissic’s money to McKissic and another player. Then all of a sudden both accept and he doesn’t have the means to go through on both deals. It would ruin relationships with agents and players.

The lack of mutual respect is an issue. That’s how you find yourself on the ***** list of 31 other teams. It sounds like they’re ***** up relationships with players and agents too (See Ioannidis, Matt).

I assume there’s some link confirming this that I missed.  Can you please post it? From what I read, it sounded like the Commanders claimed that they expected to have an opportunity to match the offer but we’re never given one, hence their reaction of going directly to the player after the deal was agreed to by the agent.

It is a principle of the law that governs society and therefore the principle is embedded in the governance of a nation. It is established in case law in the US developed out of the interpretation of your written constitution.

Browns fans are entitled to believe what they wish. Their belief is an irrelevance.

I think the fact that this is being discussed with such passion, and not just on TBD, shows that this is patently false. There are brand and therefore financial implications to the fans beliefs.

We are getting really low on whipping boys. Bease and Star gone. Knox improved. It’s down to edmunds and ford catching all the hands.

Fear not, new targets will emerge. My early bet is on Shaq.

In terms of doing it now instead of post June 1st, I think has a lot to do with JA's contact. He is still a small cap hit this year. Goes up a lot next year, and this way Star doesn't count anything against next year's cap.

Plus Bean said he doesn't like to rely on post June cuts unless he has to.

Agree. It’s going to be fun times with the cap hit from Allen and Miller in the next few years. No need to pile on Lotulelei as well.

No offense, but If that’s all you care about then you should take some football 101 classes.

“A hurry or a hit is worthless if the pass was completed”, tells 1/2 the story.  A hurry or a hit is almost as good as a sack if the pass is incomplete.  But they aren’t sacks…..so you don’t care about them….even if they help you win the game.  Similar to Aaron Donald’s play to end the super bowl…..mmmhmmm

I agree with what you're saying, but the difference is that sacks are explosive plays that can end drives by putting the offense in un-makable down/distance situations, not to mention possibly cause fumbles by the QB. Hurries that force interceptions are as well, but hurries that force incompletions are not. The Bills D could certainly use more explosive plays on defense. They're basically the only way to stop top offenses with the current rules.

Seriously it’s beyond frustrating and blows my minds. It’s not easy do cause one little thing can knock you out.

On the other hand, the Patriots went to the Super Bowl 9 times over the 17 years they had Brady starting at QB. More than 50% of the time.

Did Stafford win the Rams a Super Bowl...or was it the All-Star cast they surrounded him with that got Stafford over the hump?

Playing the Bengals with that team around them I would suggest any of about 16-18 QBs would have won that game....INCLUDING Goff.

The Rams had far from an "All-Star cast", lol. They won the Super Bowl with one good receiver basically.

But however you stack it up, they won the Super Bowl with a top 1/3 QB. I think the Raiders can probably do the same so why go backwards looking for a unicorn? Even if you get one, it doesn't guarantee anything. Look at the Packers.

I have no strong opinion about the rotation, other than I would like to see Ed Oliver on the field more.

But, one player that gets overlooked and his injury last year made a difference is Justin Zimmer. He has quietly become one of the most consistent interior d-line players. Having him back next year improves the line, even if no other changes are made. To me, he is the Ryan Bates of the Defense in that all he does when given the opportunities is play well. Maybe not flashy, but productive.

I have generally enjoyed his performance on the field, but he’s going to be 30 years old this season and is coming off a major knee injury, so I would be shocked if he improves beyond what he has been- a backup level player.

It’s a cornerstone of his defense.  He is consistent with his 4-2-5, keeps the 2-5 out there almost all the time with maybe a swap at big nickel every once in awhile.  Nothing we say will ever change that tenet of his defense.  He believes having 8 in a rotation with some of the guys are getting 60-65% of the snaps.  It’s not a true 50/50.

Based on the snap counts I could online find no defensive lineman got even 60% of the snaps. Ed Oliver was the highest at 58% and only he and Hughes were over 50%. If this is correct then I think that is too even a split. Oliver, at least, should actually be getting closer to 65% as you indicate, IMO.
