But if you are in the us you cannot legally watch it live correct

False. You can watch any in market or nationally broadcast NFL game live with the package. Since I am in NC and the Browns-Jax game was on, as mentioned above, I watched the first 5 or 6 minutes of the Bills game on NFL plus until CBS switched over.

It is a corner case they should fix and it was always the same under DTV.    The Bills hardly ever played a 4:25 national window so you may have never seen it happen to a Bills game.   That is how the service works......the Bills game was NOT part of the sunday ticket....it was on your local TV.   Youtube is not authorized to broadcast the games on local TV.  Because the other game went long you were at the mercy of the network....that is where the ONLY option is a "stream".

Or NFL+, which had the entire game.

  3. At the end of this season, McDermott will be retained as HC and the following things will happen:

    1.  McDermott will hand over the DC position to someone else so that he can focus on HC. I wish it would be someone from outside the organization, but it will probably be Eric Washington.

    2.  Bills will replace Matthew Smiley as ST coach.

    3.  Joe Brady will be hired as full time OC.

McDermott back. All new staff from start of this season.

He doesn't win all close games but he has won quite a few

His record in one score games in Buffalo is 24-24 in the regular season, and 2-3 in the playoffs, which seems reasonable. But I think the concern is that in the last three years, when the Bills have supposedly had his best teams, it’s 8-14 in the regular season and 1-1 in the playoffs. You would not expect that record from a top 5 NFL team. So, either the Bills have just gotten really unlucky the last few years or something is wrong. I’m not sure the problem is McDermott necessarily, but he is in charge of figuring it out.

  5. My personal favorite is Steve Christie hitting a 41 yarder, down 2 points, at the end of regulation, in the sleet, vs Tennessee in the playoffs. Unfortunately, you know what came on the ensuing kickoff so it’s completely washed away by history.

Incidentally, it seems appropriate today to remember that on that play Dehaven wanted the Bills to run another play so that they could kick the FG with the last snap of the game but was overruled by Wade Phillips in another dubious HC game management decision. So, this kind of crap is not unique to McDermott.

Pipe dream of course, but no reason we can’t land a terrific WR in round 1, even without trading up. Rome O or Troy Franklin would be awesome.  One thing we’ve leaned from these loaded WR drafts is that there is no way to know which guy will turn out to be the best.

I don’t really think the Dolphins are better than we are, but they always beat the teams they should, and we don’t.  What makes us so high variance and the Dolphins low variance? Or maybe they are just better….

Miami is more consistent. Maybe that means they are better coached, but they are not better talent wise. If the Bills play their "A" game, then the Dolphins can't beat them, IMO.

I think we needed to have two objectives against the Jets and their top tier defense:

    1) Win

    2) Get the Offense going

    Check and Check

Cannot overstate how massive it would be to beat the Eagles and get to 7-5 for the bye.  10-7 "might" get us in, but 11-6 does and I think we'll all feel like that's absolutely possible if they can beat Philly.

Just like the Jets were a test for our "new offense", the Eagles will be a test to see if our new defense can slow down a top offense.

I listened to the postgame last night while driving home and Schopp/Bulldog were incredibly down on our defense, and while I get it... I also feel like Linval Joseph can give us 70% of Daquan Jones.  Similarly, Rasul Douglas 80-85% of Tre White.  Which means, as long as we don't continue to get decimated on that side of the ball, they really are trying to mask the loss of Milano.  Am I off-base to expect more from this defense than them being an albatross for the rest of the season and our offense needing to just win shootouts every game?

I’d say Douglas and White are pretty much trade offs, but Joseph is no replacement for Jones who is far more active and, of course, there is no one even close to Milano on the roster. The defense will play hard, but it’s going to take 30+ points minimum to win that game, IMO. And even that might not be enough.

I think the biggest problem lies in people feeling McDermott gets some lifetime pass for our drought exit.  And Beane gets a lifetime pass for selecting Josh.  But outside of these 2 actions, these 2 guys have struggled quite a bit.  Beane with several failed picks and McD with several failed coaching decisions. I still want McD gone first and give Beane one final year to turn things around with a heavy 2024 offensive draft.

They have a 0.626 win percentage, 3 division titles and 5 playoff appearances in 6 years. I think that’s the opposite of struggling.

How do they get a free pass? The unit has been weak all season. Last night they were just as guilty in losing the game. The 12 man is just part of it, there were also two terrible punts that gave DEN the ball at the 48 resulting in a TD and another at the 46 that was DEN other TD. So both crappy 17 net punts giving DEN the ball at midfield and the only TD's of the night.

They directly cost the team the Jets game too. Smiley will be gone after the season. I doubt he’ll get a pass.

A 40-year-old coming back from a torn Achillies in less than 4 months. I can't see it happening. If he does by some miracle come back, there is an excellent chance he will hurt it again. They lose to the Raiders this Sunday night to go 4-5 and then lose at Buffalo to go 4-6 what would be the point of him coming back in a losing year.

I doubt they lose to the Raiders, FWIW.

If legit is being average with above average talent, then yes, legit is correct.... but yeah, somehow I don't think that is our goal!

If you list the current Bills starters, factoring in the injuries, on both sides of the ball, I don’t actually think you’d see “above average talent”. They have a top end QB, but the rest of the team is decidedly average right now, IMO.

  12. It’s a classic example of the refs not enforcing the intent of the rule. Intentional grounding is a penalty to prevent the QB from avoiding a sack by intentionally throwing the ball away (although this is ok if he’s outside the pocket for some reason, but I digress…). Allen was obviously not doing that.

You realize if the Bengals rolled 40 on my defense people would be blaming me. Slow it down!

You joke, but I’m sure this is it. They wanted to play ball control and avoid a shootout with the Bengals, who they feared would school them in a high scoring game. It’s the usual strategy of the underdog.
