The way I look at it, if Sean is willing to roll Von out there every week at 50% then he sure as hell can play a few of these guys at 75%. I think beyond Bernard, many will be at least active and ready if needed.

The Von Miller thing is baffling. It goes against everything that McDermott purports to stand for regarding earning playing time. Maybe all other options are horrible so Miller's the best they can do? Who knows.

Douglas has said he could’ve played twice and this really has a good chance of being the last game of the season if he doesn’t play so I’d be shocked if he wasn’t out there.  Dodson I have no idea though

Sure. And Miller said he'd be back before the end of last season.

If he went out of bounds, if any part of his body was out of bounds he can not be the first person to touch the ball before re-establishing himself in bounds...

hasn't that always been the rule.  You can not go out of bounds and then be the first to touch the ball.  Its the same as catching it after being oob the way the rule is written.  Hasn't this been called a bunch of times on guys trying to recover fumbles and being the first to touch the ball after stepping out of bounds?

This is false. The rule you are referring to is for receivers. Once the player has caught the ball he is no longer a receiver.

    this still drives me nuts.

if he went out of bounds and then touched the ball first there should have been a flag for illegal touching.

I’m not following. He caught the ball legally, fumbled, then the ball bounced into his helmet after he fell out of bounds (according to the refs). Illegal touching would be if he stepped OOB before he caught it.

....there is, as expected, much gnashing of teeth.

Some of the more interesting thread discussions, include, (but are not limited to):

    - Fire Danny Crossman!

    - We got stupid fans

    - Trade for Justin Fields

    - The Dolphins have had a curse ever since moving to this stadium built on a native American burial ground

Feel free to add your own favourites.

Is Danny Crossman really their ST coach? 😂

    Such a dingus

I have a big secret to tell everyone. I can't tell you until 3/23/24 though.

“Just be aware that the secret is that Allen has a serious shoulder injury involving his CV joint. But don’t worry, it won’t require surgery.”

    3 things for next year

1.They need a new strength and condition coach. In my 40 years of watching football, I have never seen a team lose so many top front line players in one season like I saw with the team this year.

    2. McD must get an Defensive Coordinator to call the plays he designed at the right time and in the right situations.

    3. McD needs to have an older assistant coach on the sidelines with him to serve as a calming voice. Because I am convinced that sometimes he is just not thinking straight in game situations. All that being said, next season (meaning 2024) should be make or break for him

    What does everyone think?

Actually this was off the Miami message board and I just shorted McDanials to McD and changed the one word of offensive to defensive coordinator.  Is kind of funny reading other teams board as you'd think from reading posts here, we're the only team in trouble like this.

Actually, I don’t think any of these apply to the Bills.

    1. Injuries haven’t been bad compared with other teams (like Miami).

    2. Getting a DC is a possibility, but it’s McDermott’s play calling that I would miss. He is calling the defense much more aggressively than Frazier did and I think it’s really starting to come together with Douglas at CB. They’re getting a lot of pressure, sacks, and turnovers but still not giving up many big plays. That’s a good combination.

    3. They have a lot of experience on the coaching staff.

  8. Unless they move away from the 2 TE approach, that role is going to be Kincaid’s. That’s why they drafted him. What they really need in this offense are WRs who punish teams from bringing extra safeties in the box. Ideally, big guys who can’t be covered 1v1 or burners who can take the top off the defense.

I agree with other posters that this should be a draft focus, but if you look at who the Bills have under contract on defense next year I think you’ll see that most of the draft will need to be devoted to the defense unless you want that side of the ball to fall off a cliff.

I get the point about Fournette>Murray, but Murray seems to necessary to the Jush push.

I think Fournette would replace Johnson. I think Johnson has played well, but Fournette really looked sharp to me in the few carries he got a couple of weeks ago. If he’s in his old form then he needs to play. I think people are forgetting how good he was/is.

I think Murray plays because of his pass blocking and, to a lesser degree, the QB shove.

    Has this been confirmed?

Because Sal Capaccio ran around all week in each of his 586 appearances on WGR telling me not to believe anything I see on Twitter, that nobody knows the schedule, even his buddy at NFL headquarters.

I'm still waiting for the official release on Tuesday or Wednesday.

It’s on the Bills official website

That was a horrifying request. The mind really does forget some of those. 2019 was pretty good, but that was the Houston game.  Below average still. but the sub 40% was damning. Sort of interesting how this years team has put him in so many of these spots. The most of any year in his career and double most years. This includes the playoffs.

I don’t see how you can add up long stretches of seasons and get anything coherent. Probably 90% of Buffalo’s defensive personnel and the play caller are different from 2017 to 2023. So how can you add those numbers together to get a picture of anything meaningful?

this is pretty wild---force feeding him yet another contract renegotiation all season.  he rightly says no, we signed a contract.  now they are willing to toss a chance at the playoffs to POSSIBLY save money down the road.

    Where is the NFLPA? lol

I see the majority of posts bashing Wilson, but I totally agree that he is getting shafted. The team signed a deal, now want to change it so that they can make sure they have the least possible cap hit when they dump him, and Wilson is supposed to agree? 😂

He may not be playing like he was in his prime but I’m sure he’s playing his heart out and doesn’t deserve this.

I was annoyed when the announcers mentioned that we only had 2 DL on the last play & we were using our best in Floyd & Miller.  Really?  I'd take Rousseau &/or Oliver over Miller any day of the week.

I think it was actually Rousseau and Miller, if I remember correctly.
