    I hate everyone @ 1 Bills Drive.

Joe Marino & Kyle Crabs saying his comp is Gabe Davis as of that's comforting.

I have to go play in traffic now.

This went through my mind as well- if this is the type of player they are looking for, then why didn’t the just keep Davis? Yes, Coleman is cheaper but he will also take a couple of years to develop.

Excluding QB, if we’re all being honest:

Above average players, relative to their position

    -Daquan Jones

    -Ed Oliver

    -Greg Rousseau

    -Matt Milano

    -Terrell Bernard

    -Taron Johnson

    -Christian Benford

    -Rasul Douglas

    -James Cook

    -Dalton Kincaid

Offensive Line is tricky to evaluate individually sometimes, but I do think we  have an above average OL as a whole.

Until proven otherwise.. Von, AJE, Edwards, Rapp, Shakir, Knox, Samuel are  average relative to what other teams have.

Where we come up short is in impact players.  In our own division, Dolphins have Hill, Waddle and Ramsey (debatable).  Jets have Wilson and Quinnen with pass rushers all over.

If we step back off the ledge, we still have a lot of good to great players.   The guys who have flashed elite levels are coming off injury (Von & Milano) and Oliver isn’t consistent enough to warrant this discussion yet.

Kincaid could become a superstar this year, but we’re projecting.

We’re not really below average at any position except WR, which we all expect to be addressed.  Safety is a bit unnerving but it’s also the wheelhouse of our coach.  EDGE is pretty volatile in its dependency on the recovery of Von Miller.

I think you nailed it, except:

I don’t think Benford is above average with respect to other CBs around the league. Just average.

I’m also mixed on Cook. Yes, he’s a good receiving back but he can’t block and is an average rusher. Maybe that makes him slightly above average overall but it’s close, IMO.

I would say that as the roster sits right now, WR, Edge and safety are certainly below average, and it’s going to be hard to address all three with solid new starters before next season.

Alex Smith was a number one overall pick that got the Chiefs to the playoffs pretty consistently

    And he's a good quarterback

We're talking about real backups taking over... Sure there are some outliers of success but it generally doesn't end good

It’s true. Alex Smith was an above average starter.

so your an optimist....lol.....i'd say 5-6 wins without josh

He is absolutely too big a part of the offense to be sustainable. It’s crazy that he’s not only the key to their passing game, but the team’s best rusher too. Forget the injury risk, balance is in itself a weapon. It keeps teams from keying on one guy and motivates other players to lead, get into the game, and stay focused.

    That's every single team

The Chiefs only go as far as mahomes and would only win six games without him

I don’t know, they won a lot of games with Alex Smith. Mahomes put them over the top but they were a consistent winner before he got there.

sure, they might.  That's not the topic.

Outside of O-line (assuming flat earther QB can play), the Jets are loaded.

It’s amazing to me how much love the Jets consistently get despite having just 1 winning season over the last 13 years and none for the last 8. Maybe we should wait until they make the playoffs for once before they are anointed champions.

  7. The media have had very little part in the Diggs saga, IMO. Diggs has always been a diva, back to his days in Minnesota, but lots of professional athletes are.

It’s really very simple: He was happy when Daboll was OC and they were winning and passing the ball 80% of the time, less happy when Dorsey became OC and the offense started to struggle, and really unhappy when Brady became OC and they turned into a run first team that targets RBs and TEs in the passing game.

His unhappiness combined with the change in offensive focus made him as much of a liability as an asset so the team accommodated his desire to move on.

    Hard disagree.

People should check the Texans last-place schedule from last year.  Very few impressive wins, imo.  Stroud was a revelation - and could be great this year.  Or, opposing DC's could catch up a bit, and he could have a sophomore slump.

And if they are better, it's great strategy by the Bills.  Does anyone think Diggs is gonna be happy w/ his targets on that team? Is he even their best receiver?

I’ve been musing about this same thing. I certainly can’t see him being a mentor to their young WRs

  9. It’s classic that there is video of them drag racing, casing a major 6 car accident, then exiting their vehicles and leaving the scene like nothing happened and they think nothing of it. I love the guy filming the video of them leaving asking them where they are going and if they’re just going to leave and they’re like “yup”. 😂

these guys should lose their licenses for the next 10 years.

The huge difference is that Jauron didn’t win sh-t, he barely had winning records, where as McDermott has won The AFCE repeatedly and goes to the playoffs annually, this coming from a fan that feels Sean plateaued /peaked as a HC with the 13 second game, and his “ vaunted” defensive scheme is ineffective against elite level teams. I think the difference between as fan like means a fan like you is I always hope for the best, and I have other hobbies…,

I can’t believe I going to chime in for Jauron here, but what do you think their respective records would look like if we swapped Beane for Levy/Brandon, and Pegula’s deep pockets for Wilson’s? I don’t think they would be quite as different as you may think.

This was how I took it as well. Until Allen takes that final step in his game I don’t think Bills can win a superbowl.

Unless Allen starts to play on defense too, I don’t think he can do much more. Allen has been good enough to win a Super Bowl for a few years now. The problem is on the other side of the ball.

Great post …. These sort of markets are more gimmick than anything ..with only low maximum wager limits permitted..

here is the full market… still overwhelming odds on he stays in Buffalo

Also noting the Chiefs are the same odds as the Texans …. Not sure our mate Warrior will be as excited about Diggs ending up there..

The Chiefs would be awesome. Can you imagine? 😂

If he had a prescription for this, then I'm quite certain that he thought he was doing nothing wrong.

Sounds like maybe a miscommunication between him and team doctors/trainers?

Why would he have a prescription for a performance enhancing drug that was "non-therapeutic"? Sounds like he found someone to write him a bogus prescription to get the drug.

Interesting to take a quick look at kicker salaries.  Tucker makes $6 million, Bass $5, Butker and Elliot $4.  A few mediocre kickers make more than Bass.  The real deal is the rookie on Dallas who makes 55 yarders like they are extra points.  He makes less than $1.  30 years ago, Jimmy Johnson said that kickers are fungible.  Not sure if that is true anymore.  These days, you better have someone who you are comfortable putting out there to make 50+ yarders.  If you do, you pay him.  If you don’t, you don’t ( or shouldn’t).

    He needs a raise.

Honestly this is good news. It means Bernard has a chance which is crazy considering the way it looked on the field. I already wasn't expecting any of the guys ruled out to play.

Hopefully Benford can be back next week and Davis for the SB.

Rapp is the biggest one on this list, IMO. There's a pretty big dropoff from Rapp to Hamlin / Lewis. The other guys can be adequately covered for.

The way I look at it, if Sean is willing to roll Von out there every week at 50% then he sure as hell can play a few of these guys at 75%. I think beyond Bernard, many will be at least active and ready if needed.

The Von Miller thing is baffling. It goes against everything that McDermott purports to stand for regarding earning playing time. Maybe all other options are horrible so Miller's the best they can do? Who knows.

Douglas has said he could’ve played twice and this really has a good chance of being the last game of the season if he doesn’t play so I’d be shocked if he wasn’t out there.  Dodson I have no idea though

Sure. And Miller said he'd be back before the end of last season.
