Here is my main problem with Schoop. A decade ago while on WNSA, as direct competition to Coach and the Bulldog, Schoop would rail against "the idiots that just yell at listeners on 'the other' sports station. NSA goes bankrupt, and wgr re-organizes and brings in the likes of Schoop and Simon. At the time Schoop was much more tolerable than Simon, whom I considered a clown. Boy has that changed. Is there something about WGR that makes people delta bravos, or is it just the angst of life in the rust belt wearing Schoop down? I also remember him serving as a substitute host on ESPN radio back 5-6 years ago and he sounded....amateurish. Maybe this is where it began to go down hill for him? He was a hot up and comer a dozen years ago, maybe the realization that his talent is limited has sunk him in to a permanent depression. Either way, he sucks. As for Bulldog...by appearance only, in real life radio he is a push over, no opinion, no bite. i will call him Tea cup poodle dog from here on out!

What happens if none of the top 4 players fall to us?
Ramblin' Rob replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Now that's funny I have been waiting for something worth posting on all day. thank you. -
dear dukeybomb, please do a tiny amount of research in to this guys past. he has close to a dozen "douche" offenses in his 5 seasons in the nfl, from criminal offenses like domestic abuse, to a-hole offenses like repeatedly kicking the ball as far away as he could from a denver ball boy, just to make him chase it. no, marshall did not pull the trigger, but he did escalate the confrontation, and was most likely was the intended target. d.williams tried more than once to get marshall to let it go, and marshall and his idiot cousin would not. not my story, but what came to light at the trial. i did not wish death for him, and when good guys like robert edwards loses a career after one season due to a crappy injury, whats wrong with wanting an a-holes carrer to end?. with a moniker like dukeybomb, should you call anyone a douche? how old are you, 10. truely, a rebel with a cause ps-thanks for having my back ajzepp

it was in an SI article a few weeks ago...and Judging by his actions since then, i don't think he loses sleep over it. that's why i feel so indifferent about him being stabbed. i hate the dolphins, but they are right, they can't have contact with the players. why exactly does this make them sorry. find a hobby.

pointless thread

While I hope he makes a full recovery, i wonder, does anyone really feel bad for him? all of his previous issues listed in the foxsports.com article this morning left out a major incident. He was responsible for escalating the conflict that led to the murder of d. williams in denver. marshal is a pos and i hope he never plays again. unlikely, but a gut can dream, right.

Kelly's Memoirs - Your Opinion Please
Ramblin' Rob replied to Glory Bound's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Me likey this topic! The Bills glory years and my stint in Christianity coincide. Religion is cool for those who NEED it. Personally, i was baptized Catholic but shortly after my first communion my parents divorced and church ended. In high school the bible study peeps befriended me and by all accounts they were good people. a local pastor who was one of the youth group leaders even "saved" me. then asked if i felt any thing. I lied. from the begining back in catholic school, this story seemed pretty far fetched. additionally, look at the shady characters who sell the biblical bs. no thank you, creeps. please note, not all religious leaders local, national, or otherwise are bad, just most. Here is my take. Mary was supposed to merry joseph, but was a little loose. Joseph, had not slept with her and when he found out she was prego, wanted to believe the cockamamie story mary told him but he could not. He stormed out distraught, and went on a bender and had a crazy dream where "God" spoke to him and assured him that mary was immaculately conceived. No one would buy this story that Christianity sells if it were to all go down today. well, almost no body. South Park has a good take on the Mormon religion,it actually aired last night, that could pretty much be adapted to any. So for those that want to believe in an immaculately conceived zombie, more power to you. -
Alert, alert, another one of those who thinks complete change in the FO, and a respected FO man leading it, is a sham without giving them a chance. ALERT! Maybe Tebow is really, REALLY, wrong for the Bills given all factors. You Know the complete overhaul of the team and the complete overhaul of him as a QB. Just like Buddy missed nothing by going to bed, Tebow wont be drafted by the Bills, therefore Chan misses nothing by letting the tape collect dust.

What difference makers did the Bills miss out on?
Ramblin' Rob replied to Ramblin' Rob's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Again, if we were close, boldin would have been a good pick up, maybe. but we are not so draft picks are better. -

really? if i'm not mistaken were the bills not the first to employ a black qb? James harris: from wiki. 'He was drafted in the eighth round of the 1969 draft by the Buffalo Bills and would soon join fellow rookie O.J. Simpson in the starting backfield. He was the first black player to start a season at quarterback and was also the second black player to start in any game as quarterback in the modern era for a professional football team' Also, way to use 'dark horse'....not to sure about you. -
from the list of first day signings, whom should we really be mad at the bills for not going after? Really, are we going to be mad because we didn't go after Dansby, a decent, but not great mlb? Judging by the fact that some are upset about not going after whitehurst, I'm guessing so. Julius Peppers, Brandon Manumaleuna, Chester Taylor, Kyle Vanden Bosch, Nate Burleson, A.J. Feeley, Dunta Robinson, Justin Bannan, Antrel Rolle, Karlos Dansby, Nathan Jones I am not saying the Bills will be great, we are not playoff bound. But short of going to other front offices, holding them hostage until they release the players we need, then holding the players hostage until the sign with us, what can the front office do? There are simply not too many good finds out there to overpay for. OK, OK, we overpayed for green a shtty player from a shtty team. right. but really, We all can name a player WE want, but nobody WE ALL want. There is no Pat Williams, no Drew Brees, no Steve Hutchenson. NO block buster free agents. none at all. so why are we all worked up about. The Bills will be a 5-8 win Team, they will be a better team to watch than last year, and beyond that who knows, but god almighty, relax.
-
Boldin maybe worth 2 draft picks to a contender, but not to a rebuilding team. TO helped a lot, eh? Dansby is serviceable but so was Fletcher and most here couldn't wait for him to hit the road. not signing him does not mean we are not trying, and it does not mean we are going cheap. It means the FO and coaches didn't like him enough. That's it.

Why are so many people assuming....
Ramblin' Rob replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Point 1- agreed Point 2- agree, and happy for these facts Point 3- The o line may or may not be horrible. If popular thinking is right, it takes time to gel. there is at least one, maybe two wholes which is not great, but they are almost guaranteed to be better this year. Same for qb play...if the line is better, the qb play will be too. The previous coaching staff was awful on offense for the entire 4 years. I feel Trent was ruined by them. I know it is a foreign concept, but I will give Chan a chance before burying him. Point 4- agreed I am not upset, just think its ridiculous for armchair quarterbacks to write off a team that has even met once yet. Thats all. -

Why are so many people assuming....
Ramblin' Rob replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the most ridiculous of all opines, the best thing for us is to lose the team?? Surly that would fix the inferiority complex WNYers have. The animal we know would not roam free, it would cease to exist. And no one would move on, we still incite the name of TD, and dwell on the loss of Polian 15 years ago. Losing the team would be catastrophic for most fans. Finally, how on earth would this "rid the political landscape of the corruption that plagues WNY? Our new Identity? That ghost town you drive through on your way to NF Canada? For reals yo! You all need a valume. -

Because the only accepted form of outlook here on the tsw is a negative one. Never mind that the collected we have relatively now clue about what the plans are or what it takes to make those plans work. It is clear that the organization has taken a new road this off season, and to me, at the very least it is refreshing and reason enough to have some optimism. On Saturday I had a debate with someone on here about this and it turned into a debate on everyone knew Donte was a bad pick, and every one wanted Ngata. Every one knew Donte was a reach and he has been disappointing. The threads he sighted though were hardly ALL for Ngata. Selective memories. And I was a Ngata guy. And to make matters worse, I'm pretty sure Lori jumped on me too. Dosn't give me too much hope for my 'make tsw more positive campaign. New regime=clean slate. They have not even had an off season workout and have been declared losers by the losers here. -
And 99% would have been wrong. That's why we have a FO that's supposed to know more than us doinks. All we can do is trust Buddy to turn this thing around. I am with you man, i am just trying to talk peeps down off the ledge. And lori, I just went through the link you posted for Pete, and it has some love for Ngata, but more for d'brick and bunkley. again, Donte was a reach and at the time there were a lot guys left on the board that I wanted more. Again though, this is a different regime. Weather we like it or not, reality is it's a clean slate.
-
More people wanted Bunkly than Ngata according to your first link, he of 124 total takles and 6 sacks in 4 seasons, although the Eagles were 9th in run defense last year second link started with Ngata as the predicted pick, thats it. third link was a Ngata thread with plenty of love for him but also plenty of skeptics as well. TALK ABOUT MAKING SH_T UP. put the shovel down, you are burying yourself.
-
Exactly my point....had we drafted Ngata 99% of the board would have hated it. I am not saying the track record is good, but this is a new regime, and they are clearly doing taking a different approach than the regimes of the past decade. They all know more about this than we do, Give them a chance to fail before declaring them failures. And by the way, comparing us to the Nets is truly asinine. We are maybe in the bottom ten percent of pro sports franchises, but we are better than the Raiders, Royals, Nationals, Nets, and the like. Seriously I like your 'travel" quote and want to like you based on it, but.....
-
"You miss pizza and wings more then your friends and family?" My tongue was firmly in cheek. "And equating football to heart surgery is asinine" I was not equating the two, I was however equating your ability to perform heart surgery and your ability to evaluate football. your a fan. Thanks for driving home my point about negativity.
-
Sorry to post the same thing in multiple posts, but I feel this point needs to be driven home. Truth is, 99% of the naysayers are no more qualified to analyze the moves this FO make, than they are to perform heart surgery. This thread is exactly why I don't miss WNY, at least for football. I do miss good pizza, wings, family and friends in that order. Perhaps our reputation as a last option destination for top talent is perpetuated by us (you negative fans). Look back over the past decade, i can think of a few quick first day FA signings, and one was good. Fletcher, and most of you beat him up too. you people who bit*h about what ever happens is the reason people look down on WNY. This front office is in a no win situation with fans until they start to win. And even then, I am sure will still not be happy. After all there were 'Reich should be the starter' guys back in Kelly's hay day. Sorry to say it, but you negative Nancies are losers.

I would sign TO to a 4 year $40 million dollar contract with 2 years and $15 million guaranteed. Bring in a head doctor receiver coach. worst you're out is $15 mil.
