  1. But if Trent would want to say ... fool the defense by leading them with his eyes, wouldn't a visor take away that ability? Assuming Trent can do that...of course...
  2. Someone call Tim in so he can yell at them for us!
  3. He sure does bring up some points that I, and probably a lot of people on this board, haven't thought about.
  4. I feel bad for saying this, but it would definitely make it less depressing when they move if they won a Super Bowl before it happened. Just sayin.
  5. I still don't see how even a 5th grader would find this that amusing. ::sigh::...now when my boss looks over my shoulder, THIS is what I have to show for not doing my work? Pizza Tito Rolls? Thank you.
  6. I guess you could put it that way. But my main point was about how amusing it was that Robert Royal was so obviously singled out as the failure of that offense lol.
  7. http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/05...ding-it-around/ Love the end when he says that "What this shows is that while it is a great concept to get everyone involved in all areas of the offense, there are certain players who simply aren’t cut out to do everything on every play." Obviously referring to Robert Royal. Thank god he's gone...
  8. Maybin won't need to be 280 lbs, as he isn't going to be a DE in a 3-4 system. Those guys are generally bigger as they are supposed to take up blockers. The reason Bruce was so good at getting to the QB was because he was such a technician.
  9. I always think a reach means that the player could have been had at a later draft pick. Doesn't mean that reaches will be busts, or anything. It's more of a draft-value thing.
  10. Maybe that's why we had a good draft...
  11. Do people realize that we drafted Byrd as a Safety and not as a CB? Sure he might be a reach as a CB...but wasn't he the 2nd rated S prospect coming out?
  12. So who's going to be the lowest rated player this year? Please don't say D Bell... especially if he's going to start lol.
  13. Too true...you occasionally have the rookie that excels. It's rare though. Hopefully, one of ours does.
  14. While I DO feel like the pieces are in place, I have to disagree, purely on the basis that it usually takes at least a season for rookies to really get acclimated to the NFL game. Nelson will not have too much of an impact at first, as he will be learning how to run pro routes. Maybin will have to learn a few other techniques instead of having to rely on his speed to turn the corner. But when all is said and done, to win football games, you have to be able to rush the passer, and stop the pass rush. This is no longer a game of "run and stop the run," especially since now, we play in a pass-happy league. Rush the passer...we MIGHT be able to accomplish this if Maybin GETS IT right away. My biggest concern is our ability to stop the pass rush. Like you said...time will tell. Let's hope that our new O-Line gels and meshes quickly.
  15. Sorry I couldn't make it out guys. I planned to, but was held up at a fashion show Saturday ... :\
  16. My girlfriend, the Patriots fan, asked me if I would let Trent Edwards #### me in the @$$ if it meant that the Bills would win the superbowl. I paused a few seconds to think about it ... actually rolling the thought in my head ... and said no. But she's still mad because I actually thought about it... So my question for you guys is...how far would you go for a super bowl win?
  17. "Hey Russ you bring the dart board?"
  18. He just mixed up a few of his words around. What he WANTED to say was "I wanted you to know that while it's not TSW policy to shoot retarded posters, it is not out of the question. And yes, I am a retarded poster." better?
  19. Is anyone concerned about the history of UT players failing in the pros?
  20. Talent-wise, I have to disagree. ALl 4 of the OT's are immensely talented, but they all have their issues, a la Andre Smith's weight issues, and Michael Oher's learning disability. Don't remember the others at the moment, but you get the idea.
  21. People love Michael Oher because of the book written about him, "The Blind Side" by Michael Lewis.
  22. San Fran and Cincy routinely screw us because they both routinely do worse than us each season, with needs that are eerily similar to ours.
  23. I noticed this as well. While first round picks that just fill in their role (a la Dante Whitner) aren't considered busts, they still never really live up to their talent. I guess what we really need is some way to judge and rate that middle ground.
  24. This story's 2 years old, but it still pretty much applies. Here's a MUCH more comprehensive analysis on ESPN about which positions have a higher success rate. Really long, and really comprehensive. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...terbacks/070425 Here are the summary numbers if you want.
