  1. So....does everyone let child molesters live quietly in their neighborhoods after they "have done their time"? Just "doing the time" doesn't necessarily change one's character and belief that what they did wasn't really wrong. And most experts agree that these people can't be healed.

MV isn't remorseful because he now believes what he did was morally and ethically wrong. He is remorseful because that's what he needs to do to get back into football. He didn't simply "make a mistake" and then pay for it - this is part of his upbringing, his early environment and his personality.

Yes - It is all about the money. Sadly, character and sportsmanship are quickly becoming a distant memory.

I don't want him in a Bills Uniform.

    :pirate:

AND neither do I!! Adding Vick to the Bills would NOT resolve ALL of their current needs either. And if he has SO much to offer as a QB, why didn't the Eagles use him more against the Cowboys on Sunday night?

  2. Loved it. Was going to post something similar. I can't remember a bye week that I looked forward to more. I've been a fan since 1980, and for once, I didn't miss them when they didn't play. Went to church, raked the leaves, did some painting, hung some blinds. Beautiful. Only would have been better if some baseball had been on at night. How long till pitchers and catchers report?

They usually report around the first part of February. This time it could be a few days prior or after the SB on February 7th.

  3. I think some of you guys are a bit much to base Gill's coaching ability on one game last night. I don't disagree with some of the comments about strategy, they should have won (even though they were down to the 4th string RB who was very good). Gill does not call the plays either but i'm sure he has some input..or at least he should.

The bottom line with head coaches for me is...are they dialed in? do they get what's going on at all times in a game? They are also the face of the franchise and have to be a leader of men. I think Turner Gill definitely is a great leader of young men and is a very good head coach. I'd take him over Jauron on a heartbeat as the face of a franchise but he will probably climb up the ladder in the college ranks and do very well.

I agree that he is a great leader of men. Maybe this isn't the right time for being the head coach in the NFL BUT I think he would be an excellent mentor/coach for the QB'S of the Bills.

  4. Used to live in Buffalo - now live in Raleigh. Each have their ups and downs and neither is perfect. When I bleed it's snow, taxes, Bills and Sabres. Never will I root for the Canes, Panthers or Bobcats. That being said I love it here. I've not once been downsized out of a job. (3x in last 2 years in Buffalo) My electric bills (no gas) even at the peak of summer don't come anywhere near the gas bills I was paying in a house 3/4 the size in Buffalo. Houses cost more but the property tax is lower. (I'd rather pay for a house than a politician) Politics down here in Carolina are just as corrupt as they are up there. Our former Governor will probably be in jail within the next year. A top legislator and several others are already there keeping the soap wet so to speak. Down here you will not find anything that resembles the fine heritage celebrations that occur sprinkled through out the year. They wouldn't know a Dingus from their St. Patrick amongst others

Walking out of the stadium Sunday was awesome. Buffalo fans were so loud and high fiving each other on the way out you would have thought we'd won the freakin Superbowl. The folks on talk radio are absolutely beside themselves. How could you lose the f****** Bills. Fox must go!!!

Anyway, you folks should worry less about which place is better and celebrate the victory that we share with the team we love. We're not likely to have too many to cheer about.

Walking out of the stadium really was AWESOME!!!! It was the FIRST BILLS game I had attended. I tagged along with the FAMOUS AUSSIEW to get my first REAL taste of BILLS NATION. What a TASTE..... I felt like one of those Yankee and Red Sox fans who always travel to see their team play the Texas Rangers. They TOO have a FAMOUS chant!!!!! Just one thing.....you guys have got to come up with a chant that you use AFTER you win the game!!!

  5. We should come up with a chant for byrd whenever he gets an INT. Any ideas?

I don't know a chant....BUT down here in the Arlington Texas area there is a player on the Texas Rangers baseball team named Marlon Byrd. Whenever he makes a good defensive play....comes up to bat....gets a hit....we all do the BIRD by waving our hands up and down like we are flying. So......I guess Bills fans can do the same in the stands when he is on defense.

  6. !!! I seen you as well haha.........I knew I should have but since I really have never spoken to one of you all and didn't know who was who from their username I guess I felt a lil ackward as well haha.

I know that area stayed busy with the bowling ball shots the band being there and all the food you all were cooking.

again, I had on the "crackur" jersey and was mostly talking to joe, the guy with the wing hat on haha.

I go by Jerry christ on here now and it seems like I'm new but "crackur" (who I was on here for a very long time) was banned haha and I can't get the name back, although I tried...... =P

But I do remember you now.

WOW!!!!! I remember you TOO!!! I saw the jersey with "crackur". I assumed it was your ""real"" last name. I didn't know

about the story on the board. If you had had a normal name on the jersey it would mean that I wouldn't have remembered you so well. By the way....the guy with the wing on the hat sat two seats to the right of Aussiew and me at the game.

  7. well I knew aussie when I seen her so I suppose you was the other lady I seen haha I didn't know that or I would have came over.

I was like 10 ft away at all times haha my first tailgate haha I seen that you all where so busy so I didn't want to bother you all. Just made a promise to myself to see you all again so I could say "hi"

My wife and I did do a bowling ball shot.................wearing jerseys, #4 and #3 haha

AND I was one of the other ladies....the one who was dressed in the Dallas Cowboy's Romo shirt. Wish you had BOTHERED us....would like to have met you. Yes....will see you again. This will not be my LAST!!!

  8. I've posted this on the Backers Forum but most may have missed it.

"Does anyone know of an active Cleveland area Bills Bar? bb.com shows Paninis as "the" bills bar, but someone went there and found no other Bills fans so it sounds as if they have moved and not updated their listing with bb.com

Anyone have more info? Or the contact info for a Bills Backers group?

I'm actually doing this for Lee Evans' sister, mom and dad who are looking for a place to watch the games that they don't actually attend"

    Any info would be appreciated.

No luck from that Cleveland native about Bills Bars. He did know about Paninis and agreed few Bills fans are ever there.

  9. a rivalry is not a rivalry when both teams have sucked for the last 10 years.

Or....when the Bills have to bring in players like Kelly,Thomas and Smith to tell the "new guard"all about the times they played the Dolphins. The Dallas Cowboys/Washington Redskins rivalry has lost its luster also. Those Boys/Girls have to

bring players like Cliff Harris,Charlie Waters and Randy White in EVERY year to share their past experiences to PUMP up their "new guard".

Maybe. I just emailed a good friend of ours who ALSO lives in Willoughby today for some ideas. He is a season ticket holder for the Browns and has lived there for 57 years.

  11. and find my house has been broken into. They got my 360, my WII, all my games, my wife's jewelry, my son's DVD player and alll his DVDs, and even his piggy bank. What fun.

Yep....happened to us also in March of 2000. Our 16 yrs son walked in to the mess they left. Same type items lost except add a TV and a computer. Try counting money in your tellers drawer after getting a phone call like that AND then coming home to upside down furniture and with clothes all over the floors and drawers EMPTY.

As others have said.....at least they chose a time when NO ONE was home.

  12. I had to google this .. I had no idea that Lott had part of a finger cut off ... Brian Baldinger needs to consider this option as he messes with my head every time I see that crooked digit of his.

Yep. The story goes that he didn't want to miss any playing time so they cut it off. Roger Staubach had a similar injury but chose NOT to cut his off. I don't remember whether his is on the left or right hand. So Roger matches Brian.

  13. Getting excited about big plays and outright our-team-is-great, we-wuz-robbed homerism are two different things. There's nothing wrong with showing passion for the game, and Miller and RJ are pros -- even if they did skate close to the line at times, they still normally got the call correct. On the other side of that line, I'm guessing at least one of the radio crews I'll be sharing a press box with tomorrow night will show up wearing their school colors. Yay, team. I'll be the one trying to get as far away from them as possible.

So ... yes, I'd rather have someone describing plays than yelling an opinion in my ear. I realize others' mileage may vary.

    Metal Man, valid point.

I became a first time listener last Sunday. I had to find something better than"Game Channel" to keep up with how you guys were doing since my local CBS station had a different game. I enjoyed their presentation. I DID have to chuckle when Lindall hit the field goal to put you guys up 33-20 AND Murphy remarks "That may have just put the hay in the barn".

  14. Florida recently jacked up their car registration rates a ton (almost doubling them). They claim it was because we had some of the lowest yearly registration rates in the nation and we were just getting our in line with the rest of the country. I'm running this simple survey to determine if they are accurate or full of crap. So if you could post the state you live in and your yearly cost of registration for comparison's sake, i'd appreciate it.

I drive a Chevy S-10. The first 6 years i lived here my yearly registration was $45, and this year with the new rates, it jumped to $70.

In Texas a 2004 Dodge Stratus=$63.80 and a 2001 Ford Ranger =$56.66. Age,weight and type probably figure into the cost.

  15. Totally agree. When I'm at the game I bring the headphones and when i'm watching on TV the sound is down and Murph is on loud. We all miss Van and I for one would have let him call games until he died in the booth ala Harry Kalas but Murph is so solid. He has the hometown enthusiasm but doesn't embarrass himself like other play by play guys in the league who openly cheerlead and think that saying the same phrase everytime their team scores is clever.

Mark Kelso may be the best analyst the Bills have ever had (no offense to Murph). Van Pelt was interesting (except for his out loud cheering) but Kelso reads what just happened and relays it instantly to the listener. He is also excellent at spotting trends early in a game that are critical to the outcome. Kelso also has a deceptively entertaining personality. Anyone listening to him talking trash to the Patriot fans ON THE AIR! sitting below the booth know what I mean.

Muprh was always the logical chioce and I thought it was in bad taste when they made him wait it out instead of naming him right away. He is one of the best in the league but my current #1 play by play man has to be Greg Papa of the Raiders broadcast...he is amazing!

Yep...these guys are good. My local CBS network carried the Jets and Patriots. I wanted something better than Game Channel so I chose to listen on the net. They were fun!!! If you like Papa you ought to check out Josh Lewin of the Chargers. He is OUR play by play man for my Texas Rangers.

  16. shouldnt all this have been done already? since when is the national anthem shown on TV for a regular season game?

especially for an awful stadium that is getting way too much hype....one that has problems with the sound as well

on another note how annoying are andrea kramers pregame interviews on the sideline

Yep. A terrible national anthem. That sound has to be fixed before the next game

  17. What are all those people doing milling around that big entrance to the stadium? Don't they go to watch the game?

They are party pass ticket holders. Their presence helps make up that 105,121 attendance for the game. There are large viewing screens OUTSIDE TOO!!!!
