  1. That is not entirely what happened. Maybin was taken out of the play by the left tackle. Essentially the tackle took him out to left field, far away from the play/quarterback. The tackle did his job...Maybin was neutralized. However, the tackle, perhaps thinking that Maybin was out of the play, released his block/discontinued any interference on him. To Maybin's credit, he continued the play and used his speed to get back in the play. The left tackle was in "lala" land, having released his interference on Maybin. The quarterback was forced out of the pocket and was moving/running to his right. Maybin caught up with him using his speed, and because the quarterback, who wanted to throw the ball, was not running full speed. Once the left tackle released his block on Maybin, there was no interference on Maybin's approach to the quarterback. To Maybin's credit he didn't quit his pursuit of the play. However, had there been secondary interference or obstruction on Maybin, he likely would have not made the play. The key determinant of Maybin's play was that he was taken out of the play by the left tackle and neutralized, but was left alone long enough thereafter to recoup and make a play where no interference was placed upon him. At best, the play shows no quit on Maybin's part. At worst, it shows that Maybin was easily handled by the left tackle. In conclusion, if I am the Ravens offensive line coach, you have to teach to continue your blocks until the whistle is blown!
  2. hahahahahahahahaha! You don't know whether to laugh or cry!! The guy is another first round bust in a long and growing list of non- esteemed Bills picks
  3. Another first round bust. At best he was worthy of being chosen in the 3rd or 4th round. He will be gone once his contract expires. Was he a Modrak or Jauron favorite?
  4. Great article, thanks for taking the time to post it! It's obvious that Gailey is a great offensive coach, and is able to get the most out of people. He has done this throughout his career. Indeed, isn't that what Cowher had to say about him? You can see the development in guys like Fitzpatrick, Stevie Johnson, Donald Jones, and even, Freddie Jackson. The entire offensive line is looking better as well. Take a look at the Chicago Bears line, for comparison. For once, we have a coach that deserves the moniker!
  5. I'm seeing Wes Welker, out of the slot, running a crossing pattern 10 yards deep over the middle. Please: can the football gods devise a defense for this? Stuff him on the line. Do something. You can't let him catch these passes. Second nightmare. Brady to the tight-end over the middle for 25 yards. The Bills' have to stop these passes. Do we have a strong safety that can match up with their tight-end(s) ? It certainly wasn't Donte Whitner. Stop the above, and one has a chance at winning the game.
  6. The NFL network is replaying the game on Wednesday evening.
  7. Thank you for posting this. We are a short window of winning football under Chuck Knox. Nice to see a QB who could throw the ball, get protection etc. As someone else stated here, Cribbs was Thurman before there was a Thurman. The uniforms were great. Great receivers in Butler, and Lewis. That first win in Miami was special.
  8. Have you seen Kelsay run? A joke for a linebacker. He is not a linebacker, especially an outside linebacker. As a defensive end he is way too slow off the snap, and has no power to blow past a right tackle. In short, he is a major part of the "lack of oomph" for a team 32nd in stopping the rush. Please package him with Maybin, and send him to the Jaguars as our gift for signing the overrated Posluszny. In fact, i'll volunteer my UPS account to cover shipping charges!
  9. As a defensive end he is awful. Playing outside linebacker he is worse. No speed, no power. I haven't seen him make a play since he has been here.
  10. How/why is he still on the team?
  11. Please G-d.....nothing but Defensive: tackles, ends, or linebackers (no one undersized), and perhaps a stud tight end. No running backs, receivers, cornerbacks or safeties. Please see to it that Dareus or Von Miller is picked for us, and Cam stays far away!
  12. Every talented coach or front office manager with ability left this team. Why?
  13. Flash to Spillertime21, and Show me the Baby: Where are ya? Any other smart a** comments? Looks like you skipped out of the room real quick. Nice try!
  14. How many td's did the TE finish with? What do you say coach?
  15. Hey genius....so far 3/4 of his passes have gone to the tight end and Welker. Now what do you have to say?
  16. Any game-plan, signed off by any head coach, concerning the Patriots, must account for the tight-end, and Welker. I suspect that the head coach has had many a conversation with his defensive coordinator regarding planning for Grabobski/Hernandez, and Welker. At least he ought to have had such conversations. Furthermore, his boss, be it Buddy or Ralph, ought to be asking their head coach, what the plan is to stop the aforestated. It better be creative, and not the same old.
  17. I'm sorry, I thought, albeit mistakenly, that Chan Gailey was the head coach, and ultimately responsible for all coaching decisions. I guess you are right, your astute brilliance shines through.
  18. Dear Chan: Here's a flash: there is a position in the NFL called "tight end" . New England is aware of this position, and they actually use it. I'm told they have burned the Bills multiple times with said position over the past 10-15 years. I suspect they might utilize the position today. It might be a good idea to cover their tight end, with something other than a cover 2 defense, since they seem to find the seams in the latter coverage. Oh yeah, I suggest someone other than Whitner might be advisable to provide coverage. Please also, don't suggest that the linebacker from Penn State share in the coverage. Finally, i'm told they have a guy named Welker who plays out of the slot. He is notorious for catching short crossing patterns on delays over the middle. I suggest someone on bump and run that can knock him off his butt at the line of scrimmage.
  19. Just a reminder nothing new here. We picked Donte Whitner with the 8th overall pick. Cutler, Ngata, Cromartie, and Santonio Holmes were all picked after Whitner in the first round. We also moved up (trade with the Bears), I believe, to pick John McCargo in the first round (26th overall), just before Nick Mangold and DeAngelo Williams were taken. Other than the aforestated it was a great draft for Marv Levy, and Modrak.
  20. I'm certain they will find something wrong with him, and seek out a 200 lb olb.
  21. Did anyone notice the holes that the Wisconsin offensive line opened last night against the Buckeyes. The left side looked especially awesome. Hey Buddy: that's where it all begins! Just write down their names, and remember them on draft day. Oh, and by the way, keep Modrak away from that list. Send him up to Harvard or Yale to find an undersized, but brilliant tight end, or free safety. http://host.madison.com/sports/college/football/html_4ef42c94-9b11-11df-9495-001cc4c03286.html
  22. Someone suggested trying him at tight-end. It might be worth a look. However,it appears that he is another in a long list of undersized linebackers or defensive ends drafted by the Bills. The Bills haven't drafted smart since Polian.
  23. Smartest move the Bills could make would be to move Fitzpatrick to the Bears. He should bring a 3rd round pick.
